Battleground “Supreme Court”
The Supreme Court is a spiritual battle ground. Justice Antonin Scalia died earlier this year. Justice Ginsburg is 83, and she has had colon cancer and pancreatic cancer, as well as a weak heart. Justice Kennedy is 80. Justice Breyer is 78. The next President will possibly be able to nominate four justices to the Court over their term in office. Liberal Supreme Court Justices have done more than determine if cases brought before them are Constitutionally correct, but have legislated according to their political leaning in many cases. Your vote will determine how our Court’s future unfolds.
“You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.” (Deuteronomy 16:18; NASB)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
- Pray for the current Supreme Court Justices: Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Justice Anthony Kennedy, Justice Stephen Breyer, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Justice Clarence Thomas, Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Elena Kagan. Do a little research on each of them and get to know them a bit. Your intercession will be more compassionate when you see them as real people, not just government officials.
- Ask God to grant them wisdom and a passion true justice that lines up with the United States Constitution, our rule of law.
- Pray for the election of a President that will nominate righteous judges to the SCOTUS.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, I lift up the eight justices currently seated on the Supreme Court of the United States of America: Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Justice Anthony Kennedy, Justice Stephen Breyer, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Justice Clarence Thomas, Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Elena Kagan. I ask you to minister to the deepest needs of their lives, Lord. I pray that any that do not yet know You as their savior and Lord would be given that opportunity before they leave office, Jesus. Grant them wisdom and an understanding of true justice founded on the bedrock of the U. S. Constitution. Please guide us as we elect our next President, that one is chosen who will nominate righteous judges to the bench. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God, show the Church how to vote, so that righteous judges who honor You and the Constitution of the United States are appointed in the land.
