January 29th – Pray for All Pres. Trump’s Court Appointees

When our Forefathers framed the Declaration and Constitution Sir William Blackstone’s legal commentaries were their preeminent legal reference. Blackstone wrote:

Upon these two foundations, the law of nature and the law of revelation, depend all human laws; that is to say, no human laws should be suffered to contradict … The revealed law… of infinitely more authenticity than that moral system… denominated [by] the natural law… The doctrines thus delivered we call the revealed or divine law, and they are to be found only in the Holy Scriptures. (Blackstone’s Commentaries, Part 2, The Nature of Laws in General).

Nations that obey God’s moral law are blessed (see Dt 28, all). Sadly our Supreme Court and many of our federal courts have departed from the Constitution and from protecting the God-given fundamental, self-evident rights our Founders declared governments were instituted to protect: equality (equal protection under law), life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Most SCOTUS appointees rise from our federal courts. President Trump has promised to appoint Supreme Court Justices who are “originalist jurists,” men and women who will interpret the Constitution the way our Founders intended and not according to their own feelings, or changing morals of modern culture.

“[Jehoshaphat] set judges in the land… and said… Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment.  For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.” (2 Chronicles 19:5-6; Isaiah 33:22)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray daily that God will guide President Trump in all of his decisions but especially his possible appointment of 4 new lifetime Supreme Court Justices during his tenure in office (Pr 29:2)
  • May each appointee be not only knowledgeable and committed to the original meaning of the words of the Constitution, but also have a God-given moral compass that comes from the knowledge of God’s Word.
  • May God help our new President choose and the U.S. Senate to confirm jurists who will render righteous judgments and serve our nation with reverence for the Lord.
  • May they understand that their robes identify them as “ministers of God” who must give account to the Supreme Judge of all the World for their stewardship (Rom 1:4-13; 14:12; 1 Cor 4:2).
  • May each firmly understand that it is their responsibility not to define, but to protect the God-given, unalienable rights of Americans, including the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (which our Forefathers interpreted to mean rights to private property).

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we believe that You care more about those that will serve as judges in our land, even more than we do. You know the weight that their judgements carry and how that forms the moral climate of the nation. Lord, give us judges as at the first—men and women of strong moral character that will uphold the Constitution. Those that believe we have been given certain inalienable rights. Those that will not force the creation of laws that are not clearly outlined in the founding documents. Thank You, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Lord has given our President the opportunity to choose righteous Constitutional Justices for the Supreme Court!

Jan. 28 – The All-Important U.S. Supreme Court

It was made known this week that President Trump will decide on his first nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday, February 2. Time is of the essence to pray for President Trump to appoint and for the Senate to confirm the justice who will fill the seat vacated by Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in February, 2016. The Republican-led Senate has kept the post open until a new President could be elected and installed. With only eight justices on the court, predictable tie votes cannot resolve cases. When a tie occurs, the ruling of the last court of jurisdiction stands, usually a U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. On the eve of his inauguration, President Trump told Washington leaders, “I think in my mind I know who it is. I think you’re going to be very, very excited!” Candidate Trump often promised, that, if elected, he would appoint a jurist in the “mold of Justice Scalia.” Over 30 years on the High Court Scalia became legendary in his role as the Court’s conservative anchor, known for his faith in God, his witty, brilliant legal mind, unbending fidelity and fearless defense of the Constitution and rule of law, and his commitment to family and freedom, especially religious freedom. A conservative Roman Catholic, Scalia was appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986. Exit polls showed that most Americans saw the economy as their most important concern, but  conservatives, especially Christians, said the Supreme Court was their most, or near most important concern that motivated them to vote for Mr. Trump. A Scalia-like Justice will bring the curt into the balance that existed before Scalia’s death. Since 1960, the U. S. Supreme Court has repeatedly overstepped its authority on issues. President Trump could appoint two or more justices in his first term and more in a second. Democrats promise to “fight tooth and nail” to prevent all Trump nominees. But, the GOP could invoke the “nuclear option” threatened by the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid when Democrats were in control.

“The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.” (2 Sam 23:3; KJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray daily that President Trump will be led to appoint the justice of God’s choosing for this and all SCOTUS vacancies he is privileged to fill. God’s mercy, grace and guidance are our nation’s hope! (Ps 33:12)
  • May the Holy Spirit preside over what could become supra-contentious confirmation hearings in the Senate Judiciary Committee! May those who seek to foment discord and division among Americans by hostile performances at the hearings be stilled by the Lord. Rather, may the statesmanlike behavior of our Senators serve to quell national unrest!
  • May there be no filibuster on the floor of the Senate, but, if there is, may God move 60 Senators to vote to invoke cloture, then the 51 Senators required to vote to secure final confirmation.
  • May the Senate and the American people be stirred by the character and qualifications of the appointee and may he (or she) win speedy confirmation (SCOTUS confirmations often take 3 months or more)

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we know that You have been preparing the perfect Justice for this day in America. We pray that You would make sure Your pick is found and presented. We ask that You would silence the voices of dissension and grant a grace for unity for this decision. May they be a man or woman of such strong character that there is little question that this will be a good Justice for the nation. Lord, we take authority over any filibuster and ask for the right number of Senators to act quickly to confirm Your person. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

God is going to give us a Justice that will uphold the U. S. Constitution and uphold life!

January 27 – Time to Build and Plant

There is an uprooting happening in the United States of America. It is spiritually important that ungodly roots that are plucked out are replaced with godly ones, quickly. When unrighteous strongholds are destroyed, the enemy will try to fill the void with plans that are even more ungodly. The first thing needed is clean up D.C. corruption and cronyism. President Trump has strong feelings on this and firm plans to put in place. The Church and the government need to start now to come up with viable options to abortion, should Planned Parenthood be defunded, such as increasing adoption and childcare strategies. Our inner cities need revitalized and we need programs to break generational poverty. President Trump has proposed the “Restoring Community Safety Act” to assist local law enforcement with additional training and resources to curtail recent trends of violence.  The planting of righteous laws and actions are on the near horizon.

“See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:10; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship the Lord, for He has given this nation a chance to right itself.
  • Pray for President Trump, his Cabinet, their departments and our legislators to work together to tear down and uproot, but also for wise, workable plans to replace the programs they are removing!
  • Ask God to grant wisdom for the replacing of abortion. We believe this must be a combined effort between the government and the Church community. Life is a spiritual matter first and foremost and must consider the wholeness of families, as well as the lives of mothers and children. Medical care, financial support, support of the family and childcare are all components to be considered and planned for.
  • Intercede for the poverty in this nation and particularly that which is systemic and generational in our larger cities. Pray that President Trump’s business knowledge will be a key to developing means to increase substantial job growth and preparing workers for those jobs. Ask God for those inner city revitalization programs to spring forth!
  • Pray that God gives the Trump Administration workable strategies to provide for the safety of our cities. Law enforcement must be given training and support that can deal with crowd violence and anti-terrorism, while protecting the innocent.
  • Cry out for unity in this nation as these newly planted seeds begin to spring forth. Pray that citizens and the media would quickly realize the effect of these changes and that peace would begin to settle over the nation, as a result.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we worship You for the second chance You have given America! You have given us mercy in place of judgement. Grant our President and other governmental leaders the ability to work together to tear down ungodly laws. Give them heavenly downloads of ideas to replace what is being uprooted. Use Your Church to come up with ideas to meet needs outside of the governmental arena. We thank You for the prosperity that is coming to America as jobs are created. Please also grant us safety from terrorism and the anarchy that is rising up. Our people need to know they can safely move forward. In Jesus Name. Amen.

January 26 – Revitalizing Business and the Economy

The United States’ economy continues to be one of the strongest in the world. However, it was shaken hard in 2007-2008 and it has not fully recovered yet—10 years later. Government statistics have been adjusted to make it appear that we have fully recovered and that the jobless rate is low, but that is not quite the truth. Many middle-aged workers were forced out of the job-market prematurely. Many young workers struggle to find any kind of meaningful employment, especially in the inner cities. American companies fled to foreign shores and America needs them back. Trade agreements have been entered into that benefit other nations over this nation. They need to be adjusted to benefit all parties without harming the domestic economy.

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray for a full recovery of the economy of the United States of America.
  • Ask the Lord for His creativity to be poured out on the people He has placed across many industries. Ask Him to give them witty inventions and ideas. Pray that the government works with business, with just enough regulation to keep the public safe, while allowing maximum economic benefit from the release of these inventions.
  • Pray for supernatural answers to tough economic problems, such as how to end generational poverty and how to bring American factories back to our shores, putting American workers back to work.
  • Intercede for trade agreements to be quickly renegotiated in such a manner that every nation is a winner. Pray that the nations of the earth become partners with one another, as opposed to one nation lording over another, or stronger nations taking on a paternalistic role with another, limiting their ability to fully mature economically.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, America needs a turn-around, and we need it quickly! Pour out Your creativity on business and government, education and family, to give solutions to systemic problems we struggle with as individuals, cities, states and nations. We need safety and security. We need prosperity and jobs. We ask for solutions to end generational poverty. Grant wisdom to our President and those working with him to form trade arrangements that benefit all nations involved. For Yours is the Kingdom, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

God’s supernatural answers and creativity are about to be poured out for Kingdom advancement in America now!

January 25 – Reformation of Key Legislation

Every Administration makes decisions for the American public that affect our everyday lives. Some end up to be very beneficial and long-lasting. Others, are quickly found to have been mistakes, and the next Administration quickly rolls them back. At times, technology and new ideology help us see that modifications to familiar legislation are in order. Such is the case in 2017. The Affordable Healthcare Plan (Obamacare) has been found to be costly to many Americans. It is putting some insurance companies and small businesses out of business and the tax penalties are stressing many citizens. It is being reconstructed. The way this nation handles immigration needs a complete overhaul. The President is working with Hispanics on both sides of the aisle and in the private community to come up with a policy that will eventually work for all. Senator Lyndon B. Johnson proposed a limitation that was inserted into the tax code in 1954—if your organization pays no income taxes, you can’t promote candidates for office or speak out about proposed legislation. Churches have felt bound ever since. President Trump has promised to repeal that “Johnson Amendment”, restoring true freedom of speech to the pulpits of America. Speaking of the tax code, it has become quite complicated as time has gone on. Simplifying it is also goal of the President.

“Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.”
(I Chronicles 29:12: NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • The Lord cares about everyone—the rich and the poor, the old and the young, business owners and those who work for them, people of every ethnic group, government leaders and their constituents. Ask God to grant wisdom for solutions that are win-wins in the hardest of legislative issues.
  • Pray that a strong, workable solution will be found to replace Obamacare. Healthcare is something every American needs and it has become unaffordable. There has to be an answer that will benefit the public, the insurance companies, and businesses of every size. Pray that the solution will be found quickly!
  • Intercede for those working on the answer to our immigration problems. We need a plan that embraces those looking for a better life for their families while sifting out those who would cause us harm.
  • Pray for better national security strategies.
  • Ask the Lord for a repeal of the Johnson Amendment and for a simplification of the tax code, in general. Proclaim that the Church will speak up regarding candidates and that pastors will teach what the Bible says on moral issues.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we thank You for the deep love you have for the people of the United States of America. We ask that policies, such as healthcare, immigration and national security, would be formed with real live people in mind—those that will live under these laws, those that will implement them, and those these laws will benefit and affect. Lord, we ask for healthcare that is affordable and covers our needs without breaking our government and citizens financially. We ask for a safe nation that is welcoming to the nations of the earth. We pray for the Johnson Amendment to be repealed, so that we can speak freely in our churches about these matters! Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The legislation of this nation is being reformed to that which honors God and benefits the people of this nation in the best possible way!

January 24 – Cabinet Finalization

Inauguration Day was the first day Cabinet members could be officially confirmed by the U. S. Senate. You can see a list of individuals both nominated by President Trump and those confirmed by the Senate here. Many of the hearings for confirmation took place just before the President was inaugurated. Hearings for each nominee can go on for months, but typically are completed before the President’s first 100 days are complete. The faster the Cabinet members are confirmed, the faster the new government can move forward. Since we have such a strong ideological change between President Obama’s White and House and President Trump’s, there will be much to do. While there is a Republican majority in the Senate, which can help the process, there are bound to be many challenges by the Democrats.

“Choose some well-respected men from among you who are known for their wisdom and understanding, and I will appoint them as your leaders.” (Deuteronomy 1:13; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray for those individuals yet to be confirmed. Ask the Lord for truth to be known, so that individuals above reproach can be confirmed and individuals of trustworthy character will not be denied their positions. If there is anything hidden, it must be revealed, as well, for the sake of our nation’s future.
  • Pray for each one in accordance with Deuteronomy 1:13, that these would be men and women known for having wisdom and authority in their areas of expertise for the Cabinet seat they will hold.
  • Intercede between the political parties, that conflict between them would be minimized for the sake of our nation’s reputation. We need a John 17 unity to fall upon them. We need a miracle.
  • Ask the Lord for the perfect staff members to be added to each governmental department. Proclaim the doors closed to anyone who would subvert the activities in each department, undermining the authority of the Cabinet Secretaries and the President, or who would cause delays, or who would carry out acts of espionage against our nation.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, this confirmation process of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees needs to be helped along. Unless there is a real reason that cannot be seen or heard in the natural, we pray that these individuals would approved quickly. We ask that no work of the evil one to cause delay will prosper. We ask that these men and women would be known for their wisdom and would carry an obvious anointing in their areas of expertise. Pour out a supernatural John 17 unity on the Congress, Lord, and let them work together for the sake of the nation. As each takes their place, provide them with the perfect staff members! In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Today’s decree:

God will provide a grace for the Cabinet confirmation process to move forward for the sake of our nation!

January 23 – Working With Congress

A majority of his own party in the House of Representatives and in the Senate is a gift every incoming President hopes for. This majority can potentially make it easier for a President’s reasonable agenda items to become a reality relatively quickly. Of course there will be fights, but hopefully not within his own party. Disagreements with the other party are often easier to overcome, if there is unity between the majority party’s members and the President. It remains to be seen how fully welcoming the Republican congressional members will be with President Trump. This we do know, a number of members of the Congress fear the Lord and are men and women of prayer.1 Therefore, we feel confident that, as we pray, Holy Spirit can help forge a unity between the Believers that can trickle down on the others in the House and Senate.

“The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, so they might be one heart and mind with us. Then the world might believe that you, in fact, sent me. the same glory you gave me, I gave them, so they’ll be as unified and together as we are—I in them and you in me. Then they’ll be mature in this oneness, and give the godless world evidence that you’ve sent me and loved them in the same way you’ve loved me.” (John 17: 21-23; MSG)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray John 17:21-23 over the believing members of Congress – Senators and those in the House of Representatives, that they may be one, even as the Father and Christ are One, expressing a mutual respect for one another and giving preferential treatment to one another.
  • Ask now that this unity extends to other Congressmen and women that may not know Christ as their Savior. God is able to work miracles and we are asking for this one. May the eyes of their hearts be enlightened, so that they can see that the end result of certain legislative acts passed in unity will benefit the nation and its citizens, their constituents.
  • Intercede for the relationship of President Trump and congressional leadership, such as Senator Orin Hatch, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Senator Mitch McConnell, the Majority Leader of the Senate, and Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. These are critical relationships. Pray for mutual humility and a desire for the nation to see what a unified working relationship looks like.
  • Thank the Lord in advance for the blessings that He promises in Psalm 133:1 where there is unity in Him. These blessings are about to fall on America!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we ask You to unite our Congress, especially the believing members, in a John 17 depth of unity. Make them one, even as You are One. Grant a grace for mutual respect and of working together. Let them be such an example that those who do not know You are drawn into this unified effort, so that our nation can move forward. You alone can work this miracle, Lord, and we ask for it in faith. We ask that this would extend to the relationships between the President, the leadership of the Senate, the leadership of the House of Representatives and the Cabinet heads. We pray for a humble working relationship where they are able to listen to one another and act together on behalf of the best of the nation. Thank You, Jesus, that where there is unity, You command a blessing. May we live in that day! Amen.

Today’s decree:

We decree that there will be a John 17 unity between the President and the members of Congress.

Ramping Up for the Revamping of the Nation

America’s election of Donald Trump was a shout from many people that they did not like the direction the country was going. It was also an answer to many years of intercession by a Church that was waking up and praying and voting. Tomorrow, a flurry of activity will begin in which President Trump has stated he will begin rolling back some of former-President Obama’s actions. He will begin to institute his own ideas—ideas such as nominating a conservative Supreme Court Justice, restoring religious freedom, and revamping Obamacare. These things will take time, but Donald Trump will not hesitate to take action as quickly as he can.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray Proverbs 3:5-6 over the new President. The Amplified Bible says it this way, “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth (removing obstacles that block your way.)”
  • Pray that President Donald Trump will seek the Lord before doing anything. His acknowledgement and honoring of God will ensure the blessing of the Lord on this nation.
  • Pray that men and women of God would be praying for him in church services across America today, thanking God for a President that will acknowledge God and desire to serve Him.
  • Ask the Lord to help he and his team prioritize the changes they want to make, so that things move forward smoothly and not in chaos.
  • Pray that communication will not be confused, but that he will be well-understood by his staff.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we ask that President Trump will lean on, trust in and rely on You and will not rely on his own understanding as he forms a plan for this nation’s movement forward. We pray that he would acknowledge Your guidance in his life, so that You can make this nation’s path smooth. Remove obstacles out of the way and heal the deep, dividing, emotional canyons we are seeing. Rally Your Church to intercede for the President daily. Show the White House administrative team what to prioritize, and keep chaos out of the mix. We pray that communication is not confused, so that the staff will clearly know what to do, how to do it and when to do it. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The nation that seeks the Lord will be blessed and we believe that is the case for this nation now!

Day of Rest and Day of Protest

The Inauguration is over and now the bold new administration can begin. However, today there will be a day or two of rest for President Trump and Vice President Pence. Events are planned where conveners would love the new President to make an appearance, but there is no guarantee he will be out and about. Right up the street, near the U. S. Capital, the Women’s March on Washington will take place. This protest was planned to be the “Million Woman March”, however, a maximum of 200,000 women are now planned for. There may be additional small protests, as well.  Offsetting these protests, the Inaugural Prayer Breakfast, will take place in another part of the city and David’s Tent will continue to lift up worship over the city at their site near the Washington Monument, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

“’Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 24:10; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray that this would, indeed, be a day of rest for President Trump, Vice President Pence and their families.
  • The enemy will be looking to cause chaos and upheaval, but command order and peace over protest events. Intercede that they will not become violent or express any anarchist actions in any way.
  • Use the Isaiah 22:22 keys and shut the door to anyone who should not be in the city!
  • Pray that nothing would hinder prayer and worship over the nation. Pray specifically for The Inaugural Prayer Breakfast and the worship at David’s Tent, as well as Inaugural prayer meetings happening in various cities across the nation today. Pray that God would richly bless those involved for keeping the fire on God’s altar burning bright in America!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we pray that You would give President Trump and Mike Pence and their families a day of rest today. They have a very busy road rising up to meet them. What the enemy means for evil in our nation, we pray that You would turn for good. Let the hearts of the people be heard, without our government bowing to forceful demands. We pray that protests remain peaceful. Let Believers across America make this a day of out loud worship to our God and King! We magnify Your Name, Lord Jesus, and call You the Ruler over America. We will have no King but Jesus! We look to You to grant grace to our governing leadership. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We will lift up the Name of Jesus in worship over Washington, D.C. and the nation today and wash Washington with our praise!

Inauguration Day

Today, Donald J. Trump will be inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America. He will come into the presidency at a time of great division and moral conflict in this nation, and true danger in the nations of the earth. Many greet him with hope, some with trepidation and others with outright anger. “America, America, God shed His grace on Thee.”1 May President Donald J. Trump find favor in God’s eyes and govern with humility, wisdom and knowledge. May this beautiful and diverse land become more unified, safe, and prosperous. May the Church flourish in renewed religious freedom, so that this nation glorifies the Lord!

“He changes times and periods of history. He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to those who are wise and knowledge to those who have insight.” (Daniel 2:21; GWT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Intercede for President Donald J. Trump as he is inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America. Pray also for Mike Pence, being inaugurated as Vice-President. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to them more every day and grant them everything they need to lead this nation forward.
  • Pray that the Lord would anoint Donald J. Trump and Mike Pence with a governmental anointing that can only come from Him—an anointing of supernatural favor, wisdom and knowledge.
  • Ask the Lord to guard our new President and Vice-President and their families, keeping them safe from all harm, both today and every day.
  • Pray for safety and protection over Washington, D. C., and the Inauguration site on the west lawn of the U. S. Capital building. Specifically pray against terrorism of any kind.
  • Pray that the leaders of many nations of the earth will open their hearts to this bold leader and choose to work with him for the advancement of each nation.
  • Thank the Lord for the window of religious freedom the Church will have. Get ready to share the Gospel and advance His Kingdom quickly in your realms of influence.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we lift President Donald Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence as they are inaugurated into office today. We ask that they would humbly seek Your face and that You would reveal Yourself and Your plans to them more each day. Grant them a grace to receive a governmental mantle of leadership and favor that provides what they are lacking, so that we are governed well. Keep them safe from all harm, as You also protect Washington, D.C., throughout this day and on into the future. We ask that their relationship with international leaders would grow and that they would cultivate a mutual respect with other national leaders around the world. Let us experience the fullness of freedom of religion, that may share Your Gospel of the Kingdom and that many may come to know Christ in these few years. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Today’s decree:

May the Lord lead, guide and direct President Donald J. Trump and this Administration, as they humbly lean on, trust in and rely on Him.
