Receiving or Rejecting Him

It has always been interesting to me that John, who would be known as John the Baptist, leapt in his mother’s womb when Mary, carrying Jesus, came near. We are all familiar with spiritual sensitivity, where some individuals seem to have a much higher ability to sense the presence of the Holy Spirit in the area. This, however, is to a much higher level where a 6-month old fetus is responding to His presence. God’s favor was resting on Mary and He was filling her womb. God Himself.

Elizabeth, herself, was recorded to be filled with the Holy Spirit in that same moment. Surely, everyone who got near to Mary and her child should have responded in kind. God was among them, even then. Some encountered Him, as they were rewarded for watching for Him or looking for Him. This included the secular wise men or magi, and Anna and Simeon, later. The shepherds got to watch the magnificent display as the angels lit up the night sky with His holy introduction. They got to meet Him early on, as well.

You know who didn’t? The religious. Those who thought they already knew exactly what God was going to do. They thought they had figured out how the Messiah would show up. They couldn’t comprehend or accept anything other than what they had decided it looked like. The others who had a hard time with Jesus coming like He did were the governing leaders. Herod felt threatened by this infant. He felt the entirety of his kingdom being lost to the One whose Kingdom had just come to earth. This would be a pattern for future government leaders.

Think about that for a minute. The ordinary, humble, seeking people recognized Jesus and responded to the Holy Spirit with Him. The religious and government leaders rejected Him and persecuted Him throughout His life. They persecuted His followers, as well. Ask yourself, “Has anything changed?”

Mary prophesied it all in the magnificat:

“My soul magnifies the Lord,

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant.

For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.

For He who is mighty has done great things for me,

And holy is His name.

And His mercy is on those who fear Him

From generation to generation.

He has shown strength with His arm;

He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

He has put down the mighty from their thrones,

And exalted the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,

And the rich He has sent away empty.

He has helped His servant Israel,

In remembrance of His mercy,

As He spoke to our fathers,

To Abraham and to his seed forever.” (Luke 1:46-55; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship the Lord.
  • Ask yourself, who are you? Are you one who is sensitive to the Holy Spirit when the Lord shows up unexpectedly? Or, are you one that is judgmental and suspicious? Correct your heart’s alignment, if need be.
  • Read the Magnificat, the Song of Mary, in your favorite version.
  • Did you remember that Mary prophesied the hardness of heart of the religious, the rich, and the powerful?
  • Intercede with all your heart for the groups that commonly resist the movement of the Holy Spirit—the religious leaders and the governing leaders; the rich and the powerful.

A prayer you can pray:

God. Magnificent One. Holy One. Glorious Father. Precious Savior, Holy Spirit. We worship You. We magnify Your holy name. We exalt You above everything else in all this world. You are worthy of all of our worship. Make us even more sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Stop us right in our tracks the moment we sense You with us. Like John the Baptist in his mother’s womb, make our hearts leap within us when we encounter You. We want You. We long for You. Let us never become complacent toward You. May we be surprised by the way You show up or who You present Yourself to. Never let us think we have You all figured out. We see that is a dangerous position to take. Let us never judge who You decide to use or how You decide to use them. You can anoint anyone You want.

Help us to recognize the work of Your Holy Spirit in even the most unlikely of vessels. Don’t let us harden our hearts as the Pharisees did, or as Herod did. We don’t want to find ourselves persecuting Jesus in our day and age! We pray for religious leaders who are so sure they are interpreting the scriptures right, that they could actually miss You today. Open their eyes, Jesus. Let them see You and become very sensitive to Your Holy Spirit. Save those governmental leaders who know You are going to rattle the earthly kingdoms they have been building. The Church is a constant threat to those kingdoms. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will on earth be done! Let them see that Your Kingdom is the only one that matters. All praises to You, precious lamb of God. Amen.

Today’s decree:

My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. Let me make Him known in my generation. Let the humble hear and be glad!

How Shall We Respond?

Mary was chosen by God to carry His Son, Jesus. None of us, I am sure, can imagine what that would have been like. From the time the angel came to tell her until the birth of that most precious of all children in the most humble of circumstances. Unbelievable. Mary’s “yes” to God was not one of flippancy, as in, “Okay. Sure. Why not.” It was not one of false humility, “Who, me? Really, Father? You are choosing me?” And it wasn’t one of doubt and unbelief, “Riiiight. You want me to carry the Son of God, the Savior of the whole world?” Mary’s response is impactful.

She was a teenager. She was not yet married. She was a virgin. She was holy, because God said so. He had set her apart for the most important Divine assignment ever given to 100% humankind.  We know little about this sweet girl, but her response to God, as recorded in Luke 1, tells us so very much:

“Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’”

Here is the entire encounter:

“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, ‘Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!’

“But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.’

“Then Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I do not know a man?’

And the angel answered and said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.’

Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her.” (Luke 1: 26-38; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Read the passage from Luke 1 and ponder it. Think through it with your emotions intact.
  • Imagine you were Mary. How might you have responded to an encounter like this one?
  • Maybe the Lord has come to you with a very particular assignment at some point in your life. Remember that moment and be encouraged in it.
  • Talk to Him about any special assignment you feel He is giving you. He still needs “Marys” today who will carry Jesus to the world. Will you be one?

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, Your Word brings me great hope. It is something the whole world needs to hear. This story about the angel coming to Mary to announce her God-chosen assignment is heard as an annual ritual. Therefore, we do not always take the time to really consider what was going on. Help me to make it personal today. Help me see what Mary was experiencing, thinking, and feeling. Show me how she could respond like she did. It certainly wasn’t a “normal” modern-day teenager’s response. If there is something unique that You have planned for me to accomplish in my generation, then, Lord, I want to do it. I want to be able to hear You clearly, and say “yes” to You. May my ways be Yours and Your words be mine. Send me to fulfill Your calling for me in my generation in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

As Mary did, let us say “yes” to God and fulfill His plan for us in our generation.

Plan A or Plan B

We live in a world of great need. You don’t have to look far to see people in need of hope and the need of a Savior. As we enter the Christmas season, let us keep before us the people that Jesus came to touch, to save, to redeem. In loving them, we can see miracles every day, just as He did. We can be purveyors of hope, even as He was. Those of us who know Him and love Him can be His everyday ambassadors on the earth.

In my book, Intercessory Prayer, I challenge each of us to consider our choices:

“There are many wounded and hurting individuals around the world. You work with some, others live across the street. One of them probably just served you in a check-out line, seated you in a restaurant or served you food. Their chains are alcohol, drugs, abuse, broken dreams, rejection, money, lust…

“ Plan A is for supernatural, but ordinary people like you and me to (1) wholeheartedly believe in the victory of Calvary…and (2) to rise up in our role as sent ones, ambassadors, authorized representatives of the Victor. Our challenge is not so much to liberate as to believe in the Liberator – to heal as to believe in the Healer.

“Plan B is to waste the Cross; to leave the tormented in their torment; to scream with our silence: ‘There is no hope’; to hear the Father say again, ‘I looked but found no one.’” 1

“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13: ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Look around you. Really see as Jesus would see those in need nearby.
  • Ask the Lord to fill Your heart with His love for those in need.
  • Choose Plan A. Intercede, and act if possible.
  • Pray for new strategies to show Christ’s love to others. Get personal. Get to really know the people you are showing Jesus to.
  • Say, “Lord, may I never waste the cost of my salvation. Stir Your beautiful Bride. May You never again need to say, ‘I looked but found no one.’”
  • Pray for the Church to be His eyes and ears, hands and feet across our communities this Christmas.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, You had such a personal plan when You sent Jesus to the earth. It was for all people to know You. But it was also for each individual to know Your love and care for them. You wanted to save us from our sin and all the messes we make without You in our lives. You wanted Your family to come out of the dark and the cold and the effect of sin. We must not be content with our own personal relationship with You. We are save to help others to know You, as well. We are Your eyes and ears and hands and feet in the earth. Open our eyes to really see others. Help our hearts to be open to them. Don’t let us feel limited or be afraid. You fill us, Holy Spirit, and there is no limitation in You. You do not ever fear. Give us these things today.

We choose to “wholeheartedly believe in the victory of Calvary…and to rise up in our role as sent ones, ambassadors, authorized representatives of the Victor.” May we never waste the cost of our salvation. Stir Your beautiful Bride. May You never again need to say, ‘I looked but found no one.’ Let our hearts be broken and moved to pray and act on others’ behalf. Let us show You to those in our realms of influence – our neighbors and co-workers and others within our reach. Jesus, let this Christmas be different than every other. Let this be the beginning of the great revival of souls; souls that You love, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Let this Christmas season be the beginning of the Body of Christ being the loving ambassadors of Jesus; touching all those in need of Him.

A Special Story for You Today

“General Patton’s Prayer – Many know the story of General Patton’s prayer for better weather in order to more efficiently kill the Germans in the winter of 1944. Few know of his Christmas Greeting that was issued along with the prayer, which he describes in War as I Knew It.

“Contrary to popular belief, the prayer was not ordered to be written during the Battle of the Bulge. It was on the 14th of December that General Patton had the famous exchange with Chaplain O’Neill to write a prayer for good weather and to give a copy to each member of the Third Army. The Chaplain mentioned that it’s not a customary practice to pray for clear weather in order to kill fellow men.

“Patton’s response was direct, ‘Chaplain, are you teaching me theology or are you the Chaplain of the Third Army? I want a prayer.’

“After working out the logistics, each member of the Third Army (approximately 250,000 at the time) was issued a small card on the 22nd of December 1944. By this time, the Battle of the Bulge was underway.

“On one side of the card was the famous prayer:

‘Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen.’

“When Patton originally ordered the cards made, some of the General’s men convinced him to include a Christmas greeting for the troops. It was at this time Patton took a seat at his desk beneath the contemporary ceiling fans and penned something special.

“On the reverse side, the card had a personal message from the General:

‘To each officer and soldier in the Third United States Army, I wish a Merry Christmas. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. May God’s blessing rest upon each of you on this Christmas Day.

G.S. Patton, Jr.
Lieutenant General
Commanding, Third United States Army’

“The next day, the weather cleared and remained perfect for about six days while the Third Army pushed North to relieve the 101st Airborne at Bastogne.

“Upon reviewing the weather, Patton said of the Chaplain, ‘”*** ****! Look at the weather. That O’Neill sure did some potent praying. Get him up here. I want to pin a medal on him.’

“The next day, the Chaplain made it to Patton’s office. He shook the Chaplain’s hand and said, ‘Chaplain, you’re the most popular man in this Headquarters. You sure stand in good with the Lord and the soldiers.’ Chaplain O’Neill then received a Bronze Star Medal.

“On Christmas Day, Patton wrote in his journal that the day ‘dawned clear and cold; lovely weather for killing Germans, although the thought seemed somewhat at variance with the spirit of the day.’ Patton went on to write how they managed to provide every soldier with turkey. Those in the front had turkey sandwiches while everyone else had hot turkey.” (Scott Manning)

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.” (Psalm 133:1-3; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Check out Patton’s boldness to ask for a prayer to be written and to be sure every soldier prayed it.
  • Ask the Lord for greater unity in the group of Believers you are connected with. Worship with them, pray with them, and celebrate Jesus with them from this place of unity.
  • Honor those who lead you in pray. Pray for them and bless them today.
  • As we enter this Christmas season, remember our men and women on the battlefield. Pray that they receive good weather and all that they need to defeat evil and protect the innocent today.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we don’t know if General Patton knew You or not, but, never-the-less, he recognized the need to humble himself and seek Your assistance to win the battles his troops were facing. Thank You for his example of leadership. He honored You. He honored the chaplain that wrote the prayer. And He acknowledged Your place in the winning of the battles they were engaged in. Please help us to think of You moment by moment and look to You, as General Patton did, to win all of the battles we are facing. Give us the faith he shows us here. Give us the heart of gratefulness he shows us. Help us to look to You first and foremost. We pray this for our modern troops on active duty around the world today. May they seek You daily, and especially at this Christmas season. May they put all of their hope and trust in You, Jesus. May You give them the advantage against our enemies. May they be successful in every battle and come home to their families safely. We bless them today in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

United prayer has shifted battles and shifted history! We will pray until we see victory.

Walking In Tune With the Holy Spirit

Hear more quickly. Hear more easily. Hear more fully. I am hearing that you will receive a greater ability this year to analyze what you are hearing Him say more quickly. You will know and understand what He is saying, because the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation is going to a new level in the Church. We will be filled again and again and again. This will be the year of our greatest infilling. The Church is going to overflow and continue to overflow!

Worship is going to a whole new level. There will be intimacy, but there will be a strength and a warfare in it. Strongholds will break as His people worship Him. You will almost be able to hear them breaking apart and falling as you worship corporately. There will be new sounds. There is a new breed of worship leader coming forth. Pastors and ministry leaders, don’t try to direct them. Get out of their way. They have been created by God to bring this new sound into the earth and you have to let them do it. You may not understand it, but you will be able to follow it. Let them worship fully, no holds barred! Let the new sound open the heavens and break strongholds. That’s what is going to happen. You will sense it, feel it, know it. You will see the effect and hear about it in the news later. Get ready! God’s Kingdom is coming in this new sound of worship.

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship Him. Let the worship freely flow from your heart and your lips. If you hear a new sound coming forth, let that happen.
  • Practice following the Holy Spirit as He leads your worship.
  • See the sound penetrate the atmosphere around you. Let Him show you the effect your worship sound is having.
  • If you are a pastor or other ministry leader who is used to directing the worship, find a way to trust the worship leaders the Lord has given your congregation. Give them freedom! Start today!
  • Intercede for pastors and ministry leaders and worship leaders to realize this new season of freedom and warring worship has come to us.
  • Ask the Lord to help you follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in worship more and more. It has an effect in the earth!

A prayer you can pray:

Let a spirit of worship and sonship and communion unite in an effect of warring strength. Let the roar of Zion come out of Your people. Let the roar be heard throughout this land and in the nations of the earth. Let a sound go forth into the heavens that literally rips apart the canopies that have been built over nations and cities. Let the sound go into the earth and, like a laser, hit the roots and cut them off. Let strongholds tumble to the ground. Let the rain of heaven come to earth. Let the outpouring that You have been speaking to us about go to its new level.

Let a fresh expression of the apostolic and prophetic dimension of Jesus come into the earth. Let our decrees be louder in the Spirit. Let our roar be louder in the Spirit. Let our senses be sharpened to hear what You are saying. May we think the thoughts of heaven this year. May we move with You easily. Let us be so tuned in with You that, just like we have natural reflexes, we do all this without even thinking about it. We move with You without thinking about it. We respond to You without thinking about it. We are in tune with You. We are being fine-tuned by You. There is a heightened sensitivity to the Holy Spirit coming to His people who will come in close. Let the Church be filled with the Holy Spirit! Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We are being fine-tuned as we worship the Lord to walk in perfect step with His Holy Spirit.

God’s Preparation for America to Receive His Son

We need to pray that every force that has risen up in this nation to stop the change that needs to occur will be removed and dealt with by the Spirit of the Lord and angelic forces. I am not talking about praying for or against political parties. I am not talking about praying for or against our president. It’s about asking God to do what I know He wants to do to shift this nation back under His governmental influence, so He can exalt this nation. This is for the purposes of the Gospel, and for this nation being a force of freedom in the earth. We have got to pray in the Spirit. We need to press into this. We need to get ahold of what He is saying and then we need to declare and decree it. Our prayers are having a profound effect. We may not see exactly what is happening to those root structures, but we can imagine it, because of what we read in His Word. He is directing our prayers and targeting them to uproot some things. He is causing roots to dry up, and pretty soon the fruit will begin to dry up, too. He’s tearing down strongholds and every high thing that exalts itself against Him. He’s preparing America to receive His Son.

“Today I give you authority over nations and kingdoms to uproot and to pull down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:10; GNT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Ask the Lord to raise up warriors for this time and epoch.
  • Take some time and pray Jeremiah 1:10 into the root structures of this nation. Some things need to be uprooted, dried up and destroyed.
  • Volunteer to go and pray wherever He sends you with whatever message He gives you.
  • Intercede for the rest of the warring Body of Christ to do the same.
  • Ignore the political scene and exalt the Lord. Worship Him. Join in and prepare the way for Jesus to be received in this land.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, raise up warriors. Put Your warring Spirit inside of us. Let Your warrior nature rise up in us. Let it come alive in us! As we move in this revelation, show us how to lay siege. Let us hear when to go and where to go and what decree to make. You told Jeremiah You are going to start by tearing down and uprooting. You are going to have to tear down some things before You can build. We are going to tear some things down with You this year. We are going to go in and cut off the heads of giants. Show us the root systems that some of these principalities have in some parts of this nation. They are so weak now. They are becoming dry, dead, shriveling roots underground. They still look good above ground, but underground, they are dying. You are telling us we can go and deal with them now and tear them down, because the Ekklesia is dealing with the roots. God, tell us how to do this. Where do we go and what do we say? Who do we go with and when do we go? Send Your Ekklesia, Your Kingdom government, into this nation and other nations to make Your righteous decrees that lop off the heads of giants. Principality-led systems, structures, and evil strongholds can be dealt with fully in this coming year. We want to get ready for You, Jesus. We want to see Your glory! Amen.

Today’s decree:

God is uprooting some things in America, so He can ready us to receive His Son!

Go Where He Sends You and Say What He Says

If we don’t go on the offensive and engage the enemy, moving in the authority the Lord has given us, surprising him, we won’t get the spoils. The greatest battles bring the greatest victories and the greatest spoils. If we don’t do this now, we don’t get the spoils. I’m talking about spiritual spoils. I’m talking about souls. I’m talking about harvest.

We are in a year where the Lord is going to increasingly tell people to go on prayer assignments. He’s going to send some of you to your state capitals. He’s going to send some of you to Washington, D.C. Some will be sent to other nations. You are going as an expression of His government in the Kingdom, which is the Ekklesia.

You are going to go in and make decrees. God might send you to Washington, D.C. You might stay a day or so, but your assignment might take 30 seconds. You are going to stand in front of a building or an office. You are going to make a decree. You are going to say what God told you to say. You can stay and pray some more, or you can go home. The point is to go in and release Kingdom authority as the Ekklesia in the Name of the King into situations. What we have been praying about and working toward for 20 to 30 years, you are going to see manifest in this year of acceleration.

“Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.” (Joshua 1:16; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Listen to your words and clean them up, if they aren’t clean and filled with faith.
  • Listen to your mind. Does it need a washing of the Word of God? Start reading it out loud, so you can hear those pure, transforming words.
  • Listen to your heart. Is it fearful or hopeless and downtrodden at all? Worship Him and let Him come and lift your countenance.
  • What is your assignment right now? What do you think about the most, talk about the most, and pray about the most?
  • Ask the Lord for the exact right pray assignment for now. Where can you go and what can you decree into that situation to see it turn for Kingdom-expanding advantage?
  • Decree, “The King is coming to America! Freedom is coming. Light and life are coming into our governmental structures. Souls are coming in great waves of harvest!”

A prayer you can pray:

Father, you may call us to walk around the block, through our children’s schools, or to the capitals of our states and nation. You have given us each a prayer assignment in this hour and we need to take it seriously. A nation’s future is at stake. State legislation for and against life and godliness is at stake from state to state. Souls are at stake from our neighborhoods to the nations of the earth! What an incredible season You have brought us to. We feel the synergy of decades of intercession. We feel the faith to decree and declare, not just to petition and hopefully ask. The tide is turning. Battles are being won. Keep us pressing in by faith, even though the battle still rages all around. The tide has turned!

Where once we prayed for long hours of intercession, now we will strike with grace and strength, quick and firm, enforcing Your victory, Lord. We will go wherever You send us. We will pay the cost and do what You created us to do, and say what we need to say. It might be a quick scripture spoken in Kingdom authority toward the right target. Done!

So many souls are ripe for harvest. So many! Let us see them all around us. The enemy is fighting hard, but he is on the defensive now. We are on the offense. Give us grace to finish well, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

We will go. We will decree. We will see take possession of this land!

Who is Intimidating Who?

When the Lord sends you some place, you are not supposed to go in and start reacting. You are going to go in and start intimidating the powers of darkness. They’re scared of you when you understand who you are. You don’t go in arrogance and you don’t try to intimidate people. You intimidate the powers of darkness. It’s Jesus we are carrying into a place. When Jesus walked into a region or a room, He wasn’t on the defense. Every spirit of darkness was immediately on the defense, because a greater power just showed up. A higher authority just showed up. That’s how things are supposed to be when you show up—in your city or on your assignment or on your job. You are supposed to know that you are carrying the greater One inside of you.

Over the next year, we are going to be gathering in strategic places. We are going to be decreeing, declaring. moving on the offense as watchmen and women. We are laying siege to the powers of darkness that have established themselves and entrenched themselves into parts of this nation. If you think the warfare over this nation and other parts of the earth are intense right now, know this. This is not the year for the faint of heart. Don’t be intimidated by that.  You are not to be intimidated by spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare just is. The kingdom of darkness is desperately trying to maintain its strongholds, but the Lord is saying, “You have reached a point where you can tear down these strongholds. You can take out these giants. You need to go in and do what I tell you. Do it in My strength and My authority. You are going to win the battles.”

“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:5b-9; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Think about the enemy’s response when he sees Jesus.
  • Think about that a little bit more.
  • Have you made Jesus your personal Savior and Lord? Is His Spirit indwelling you? If He is with you, what do you imagine the enemy sees when he sees you? Hold that thought.
  • Repent of fear.
  • Repent of any doubt that using the name of Jesus you can route the enemies coming against you or your loved ones.
  • Repent of any unbelief that the works that Jesus did, you can do also.
  • Stir up your most holy faith and get ready to open your mouth and use the Word of the Lord against every enemy you face. You will win the battles. He has already determined the outcome.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, this land, America, is Your land. You established it for Your Divine purposes. We have messed things up a bit. We have allowed things that are not pleasing to You. We have not stopped things that displease You from being established. We have even participated in the wickedness and sin we allowed in. We repent. It is turnaround time.

We repent for thinking we can’t do anything about the spiritual climate of this nation. We repent for thinking our voices won’t be heard. We repent for feeling that the enemy is just too big, strong, prolific, or greater that You are. We have let him intimidate us. We have remained silent at the wrong time. What on earth have we been thinking?! It is time to flip that all over! You are able to deliver us, even from our own created messes. You are the God of the turnaround! You are the one that forgives and forgets. You establish and re-establish, until Your will comes to pass in the earth. You are never out of control. In Your patience and love, You work to realign what we mess up. You have determined the course of things and You will cause Your plans to come to pass. Let Your Church now rise up as Your army in the earth and win battle after battle after battle after battle. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in America, even as it is in heaven. Jesus, be glorified! Amen.

Today’s decree:

In Christ’s strength and authority, we will win every battle He has brought us to!

The Year to Take Down Giants

I feel the Lord is saying this is the year of laying siege. This is a year of warfare, but it’s different. It’s not a year when we defend, watching to be sure the enemy doesn’t get in anywhere. This is a year we are on the offense. This is a year we initiate. This is not a year we react to what the enemy is doing. It’s a year we make him react to what we are doing. We aren’t going to wait and see what happens in this nation. We are going to determine what happens over this next year. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be naive. This is the year of the taking down of giants.

The Lord is saying, “I will give you the ability to know the plans of the enemy in advance. You don’t have to be defensive. I’ll show you what he’s going to do before he knows he’s going to do it. I’ll show you what he’s going to do, because I will influence him to do it. I will cause him to move right into your trap.” The Lord told me, “You start now and you go through next October. I want that to be one continuous siege against the enemy!” This is the year we take out giants in this nation. This is the year that we knock out giants in this nation. This is the year that we break the back of some of the principalities that have ruled this nation for a long, long time. This year, we will dislodge them. We will uproot them. We will tear down their structures. We will go on the offense, and we are going to kick in the gates of hell this year!

“‘But you—who do you say that I am?’ Jesus asked. Simon Peter spoke up and said, ‘You are the Anointed One, the Son of the living God!’ Jesus replied, ‘You are favored and privileged Simeon, son of Jonah! For you didn’t discover this on your own, but my Father in heaven has supernaturally revealed it to you. I give you the name Peter, a stone. And this truth of who I am will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church—my legislative assembly, and the power of death will not be able to overpower it! I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.’” (Matthew 16:15-19; TPT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Are you “in”? Are you saying “yes” to the Lord’s invitation to engage in this year-long siege against the spiritual enemies of America?
  • Say, “I am going on the offensive with the Lord against Satan and his demonic hoards. We will no allow him to get in anywhere. We won’t allow him to make any headway. We will unravel every one of his plans against America!”
  • Say, “See, today You, Lord,  have appointed us, Your Church, over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
  • Say, “This is the year we will dislodge the spiritual forces that have held the harvest captive.”
  • Say, “This is the year we gather in unity with other Believers, filled with faith, decreeing His Word. We will see spiritual giants fall! Name some of those giants.”

A prayer you can pray:

God, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your victorious Son, we are invading the land this year! We’re going to invade neighborhoods. We’re going to invade cities. We are not just going to respond. We have reached a point where we are going on the offense. We are ready for this, because we are the rising Ekklesia that is Your extension of the Kingdom of God in the earth. The Kingdom of God is not on the defense. The Kingdom of God is advancing! The Church is advancing! This is the year we gather in unity with other Believers, filled with faith, decreeing His Word. This is the year we will dislodge the spiritual forces that have held the harvest captive!

We will see spiritual giants fall! Abortion is ending! Life will spring forth! The courts are being re-set! New and fresh congressional leaders chosen by God will be elected! The President’s impeachment will be thrown over and reversed! The nation will go into revival! Believers will be bold in sharing the Gospel and will have full freedom to do so. The harvest will not be lost, as the Church will lay down their lives to disciple the masses of new Christians. Watch now, as leaders from every sector repent and turn to the Lord! Kanye West was the first of many. There are leaders in government, education, media, arts and entertainment, and business whose radical salvations will even shock the world. They will be truly Yours. They will be 100% sold out to You and will give their fortunes to share Jesus worldwide. Even religious leaders that oppose You or oppose the Holy Spirit will now get right with You and lead their followers right to Jesus en masse. What a year, Lord. The giants are being defeated across the land! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church, God’s legislative Body, is going to kick in the gates of hell this year!

This is the Year of the Watchman

Israel had sentries that would stand on the walls of the cities and watch. They would watch for enemies. Watchmen were positioned all over the walls and if they saw anything suspicious or saw enemies approaching the city, they sounded the alarm. The Lord uses that picture to describe spiritual watching, spiritual walls, and listening. We are not just to watch for enemies, but also for what the Lord is saying. One of the things the watchmen would do was not to just watch for enemies, but to recognize messengers and those who were friendly coming to the city. There were messengers that would run from city to city. The watchmen had to give the okay to let them in.

All of that is important—being watchmen for our families, our communities, our congregations, our businesses, cities, and nations. The facet that I think is most important is the offensive aspect of being a watchman. There are words in Hebrew where this is not only defensive, used as “to guard, protect, keep and preserve”. There are offensive terms, such as “to spy”, as in spying on an enemy so you can ambush them. It can mean “to lay siege to a city”. When you surrounded the city to cut off supply lines so you could capture the city, this term is used. It’s the same term, because you are watching the city so you can take it.

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.” (Ezekiel 3:17; ESV)

“On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest.” (Isaiah 62:6; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • What is your assignment from the Lord to watch over?
  • Write down what you are seeing.
  • Ask the Lord what His plan is that the enemy is trying to stop.
  • Command the enemy to reveal himself. Command his plans to be uncovered. Command him to cease and desist.
  • Call for the people of God to work with the Holy Spirit to stop the enemy in his tracks.
  • Declare the plan of the Lord to be established!
  • If you have a place of influence, make these things publicly known. Do not let the enemy be able to continue lurking in the darkness, hindering God’s work!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I believe You have given each of us something to watch over. You have given us a time and a season and a place of influence where we can see what You want us to see. As we take our positions, You make sure we see what we need to see. We can sound an alarm to those we are connected with. We want to know what Your plans are. Then, show us how the enemy is working to prevent them. Where is he coming in? How can we stop him? Show us before he even has a chance to work his evil plans.

We say, “Satan, reveal yourself and your wicked plan. You are up to no good and we want to see the full extent of what you are up to. We command you to get in the light. Stop, in Jesus’ Name! Cease and desist! All of your plans will fail, as we war against You in the authority Jesus has given us.”

Lord, we say that no plan of darkness will be effective where You have uncovered it. We have not seen, because we have not positioned ourselves to watch. We haven’t heard, because we haven’t positioned ourselves in an intimate place with You to hear. You want us to watch with You. You want us to warn those in our realm of authority. You want us to war in intercession until our enemies and the enemies of this nation are defeated. You are saying that it is time! Lord, let us watch and pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Let the Lord’s watchmen for America watch, and let the siege against our spiritual foes be effective!
