Filling Up Empty Seats

We all know by now that there is one available seat on the Supreme Court of the United States, which is being vacated by retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Not many of us, however, realize that 17% of all federal court judicial seats are empty. This is a significant number. Just like the Supreme Court justices, all of these judges serve for life, so seating this many judges can have a great impact long into the future. President Trump has been quietly filling all of those empty seats with conservative judges. The Supreme Court hears 70-75 cases a year. The federal appeals courts hear up to 50,000 cases in a year. It is easy to see that cases are often finally decided in the lower Federal Courts of Appeals. “On a number of important constitutional and statutory cases, they’re often the last word,” John Malcolm, director of the Meese Center for Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation, says. “So, the people who sit on those courts can have a very large impact on the direction of the law.”1

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.” (Isaiah 11:2; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • President Trump made a campaign promise he is fulfilling. He promised to seat constitutionally conservative judges on America’s federal courts.  Thank the Lord for presidential promises kept.
  • Pray that every judge called forth by God for this moment in history is placed in their exact right place in the nation’s courts.
  • Intercede for the Senators confirming those to be seated on federal court benches. Pray that the character of these judges is such that opposing senators are not able to impede the progress being made.
  • Ask God for yet another generation of righteous lawyers raised up and made ready for future federal court vacancies.
  • If you are a Christian attorney, fear the Lord and live your life, so you could possibly be one of our nation’s future judges.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, thank you again for a president who is keeping a campaign promise to fill the 17% vacancy rate on our federal court benches with righteous judges. May President Trump and his team find every single one of those who have been prepared by You to fill those seats. We want our judicial system to honor You at every level, all the way up to the Supreme Court. Let the nominees’ character and judicial activities be without reproach, Jesus, so they cannot be logically rejected. Let young, Christian attorneys be made sensitive to Holy Spirit, living God-fearing lives and studying to show themselves approved. Our nation will need them some day. May the way be made open for their futures in the nation’s federal court system, all the way to the top! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

The U.S. judiciary will be set for a generation by President Donald Trump.

Introducing Judge Brett Kavanaugh

“Mr. President, thank you. Throughout this process, I have witnessed firsthand your appreciation for the vital role of the American judiciary. No president has ever consulted more widely or talked with more people from more backgrounds to seek input about a Supreme Court nomination. Mr. President, I am grateful to you and I am humbled by your confidence in me. Thank you…. My judicial philosophy is straightforward: A judge must be independent and must interpret the law, not make the law. A judge must interpret statutes as written, and a judge must interpret the Constitution as written, informed by history and tradition and precedent.… I (will) begin meeting with members of the Senate which plays an essential role in this process. I will tell each senator that I revere the Constitution. I believe that an independent judiciary is the crown jewel of our constitutional republic. If confirmed by the Senate, I will keep an open mind in every case, and I will always strive to preserve the Constitution of the United States and of the American rule of law. Thank you, Mr. President.” (Judge Brett Kavanaugh, nominee for Supreme Court Justice)1

Then I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning; After that you will be called the city of righteousness, A faithful city.” (Isaiah 1:26; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Clearly, Judge Kavanaugh is a supporter of the U.S. Constitution who is against the judiciary legislating from the bench. This is something we have asked the Lord for, so thank Him!
  • Intercede for his meetings with key Senators this week. That is the first step in the confirmation process, which He has already begun.
  • Intercede for the Senators he will meet with. Pray they are able to put politics aside and listen carefully to what he will tell them.
  • The political spirit is dividing our nation. Politics touches every area of our lives. Cry out for unity in America and for the well-being of the people to be considered above political agenda.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we pray that You have provided a person of Your choosing in Judge Brett Kavanaugh. We know he is a family man of stalwart character. You have answered our prayers for a person with a firm commitment to support the Constitution of the United States and who will not legislate from the bench. Thank you. Guide his steps and his words as he has preliminary meetings with various senators this week. We pray that his answers will be clearly heard. Lord, the division in our nation becomes more clear every day, mostly among political lines. We pray that the Church in particular is able to find a place of unity in You! Make us one and heal our land in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

You will restore our judges as at the first, and our counselors as at the beginning; then our nation will be called “righteousness”.

And the Supreme Court Nominee Is….

U.S. Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh is President Trump’s nominee to fill the seat on the Supreme Court vacated by retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Judge Kavanaugh is a strong supporter of the U.S. Constitution, as written and amended. He is a practicing Catholic and a God-fearing man. He has taken clear stands for life in his time as a Circuit Court Judge. He feels, as Justice Neil Gorsuch does, that politics should be left out of the Courts. We don’t yet know when the Senate confirmation hearings will be, but we will begin to pray.

“Always think carefully before pronouncing judgment. Remember that you do not judge to please people but to please the Lord. He will be with you when you render the verdict in each case. Fear the Lord and judge with integrity, for the Lord our God does not tolerate perverted justice, partiality, or the taking of bribes.” (2 Chronicles 19:5-7; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Read everything you can about Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
  • Pray 2 Chronicles 19:5-7 over him. Ask God to reveal anything that may not line up with this scripture, but otherwise to have him quickly confirmed.
  • Pray protection for him and his family. There are groups and individuals in this nation that are not happy with this choice.
  • Ask that the Senate confirmation hearings are scheduled quickly and early enough to leave plenty of time for a good decision to be made.
  • Pray for the Senators that may not agree politically with this pick. Pray they will focus on what matters – strong character, good education, and a clear judicial record over politics.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we want the one person You want in that open Supreme Court seat. As I pray 2 Chronicles 19:5-7 over Judge Brett Kavanaugh, reveal anything in his life that may not line up with Your Word. If he is a righteous vessel, then we say, “Let him be seated without delay!” Keep him and his family safe through this season. Send Your holy angels to guard and protect them from any political opponents. Thank you that this man does not play politics, but stands firmly for the US Constitution. Let his strong moral character shut the mouth of every potential accuser. Lord, may he be without reproach, a man of honor and one who glorifies Jesus Christ, whom he serves, so that his confirmation is assured. For the future of our nation and in the name of Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

Only the one God has chosen can sit in the vacant Supreme Court Justice seat!

A Choice That Will Divide the Nation

Can you feel the swirling in the heavenlies? Can you feel the conflict and turmoil? The enemy is not quite sure what to do. He will stir up a panic among the people. Watch for it in the media and among those who fancy themselves to be a spokesperson for the nation. Those who are haters of God will be exposed. Those who would trade righteousness and justice for humanistic agendas will be out in force today. We will pray for them. As they make themselves clearly seen, we will intercede for them. God will Holy-Ghost-highlight them to us for intercession. God’s will for America will be done. No one and nothing can stop it. All the crazy talk will not deter Him from His plan. Watch now and see the righteousness of God at work answering the prayers of the saints. The bowls are being tipped out and our prayers answered for a Supreme Court of the United States of America that honors the U.S. Constitution and God.

Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.” (Song of Solomon 2:15; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Fear of loss causes anger and flailing in every direction. This is going to happen with the Supreme Court appointment today. Fast and watch and pray.
  • Wherever you see those in the media attacking President Trump’s choice—even before he annonces the person—intercede for the one doing the attacking. They don’t understand what they are doing. Say, “My children and grandchildren and I forgive you.”
  • Pray for their eyes to be opened to God’s reality and love for them. Intercede for their salvation, if they are not yet brothers and sisters in Christ. What an opportunity for them to receive hundreds of thousands of prayers today!
  • Pray that President Trump will have a supernatural grace to ignore all the taunting and mocking and fear-laden reporting. Let him declare his decision as a president should—with all boldness and confidence that it is the right one for America both now and in the future.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, may we not get caught up in the media’s flailing for words and fear-mongering in advance of President Trump’s announcement of Supreme Court Justice nominee today. May we respond in the opposite spirit – that of compassion for them and prayer for Your peace to descend on their hearts and minds. Many that do this do not know You, Jesus. They are committed to an earthly agenda and don’t understand the solid foundation You are setting in America. It is one that will not harm them, but will give our children and grandchildren hope for the future. It will be a future established on Your wisdom and righteousness, within the boundaries set by the U.S. Constitution. We forgive them. President Trump’s pick will be the right one for this season in history. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The media’s opinion will not affect President Trump’s declaration today of Supreme Court nominee.

One More Call

Today is the day that President Trump will need to finalize his decision for Supreme Court nominee. He will make the appointment public tomorrow, Monday, July 9. Are you excited? You should be. There is a unique opportunity for the Court to be set as solidly conservative for decades. The exact right person must be appointed. Intercede today with passion for the choice to be in alignment with God’s perfect design. This will be an answer to the prayers of the saints over the last couple of decades for a righteous judges to be seated on the Supreme Court, as at the first.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Intercede for President Trump today for the decision he must make of an appointment to the Supreme Court seat vacated by Justice Kennedy. Fast in some way, if the Lord leads.
  • Declare Proverbs 3:5-6 over President Trump regarding this decision.
  • Let the chosen person be found seeking the Lord for their response to the President’s invitation. Let them make their heart and mind ready in humility and purity of heart.
  • Decree that the seat is only available to the person of God’s own choosing.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we intercede today for President Trump. What a weighty decision he must make. He has been given an open door of opportunity to place another conservative justice on the Supreme Court. This is rare. He must make the exact, right choice, as the rulings this person will make will likely affect not just our lives, but the lives of our children and grandchildren. We pray over the president, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6; NASB) Let the one You have chosen make themselves ready today by seeking Your face, Your heart, and Your mind for their answer. Let their humility and purity of heart be seen and heard, so that there is no argument against them. Let this all come to pass by Your grace, Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

God’s perfect choice for the Supreme Court will be appointed today!

The Prophesied Day Has Come

“The prophets once proclaimed that a day was coming where the plowman would overtake the reaper. They said that there was coming a time when the harvest would be so full and heavy that there would not even seem to be enough laborers or time to get the harvest in. The Word also said the mountains would drip with new wine. So, there will be a great harvest with a great outpouring of Holy Spirit. From the day Jesus walked the earth until now, that harvest has been growing, The Holy Spirit outpouring is becoming a flood of new wine! Those who have never experienced a season of harvest and outpouring are going to start to research it now and they are going to start crying out for this next Great Awakening!” (Anonymous intercessor – The Forward Event)

“’Behold, the days come,’ says Yahweh, ‘that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the one treading grapes him who sows seed; and sweet wine will drip from the mountains, and flow from the hills.’” (Amos 9:13; WEB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Declare Amos 9:13 above prophetically into the nation. Proclaim it over your neighborhood, city and state, as well. Feel your faith arise as you do this.
  • Call for the heavy harvest. Say that the harvest is ripe!
  • Call for those who will tread out the wine of the Holy Spirit. Say that the grapes are full of the sweet wine of His Presence!
  • Call for the reapers—those who will research past moves of God and become desperate to get into the harvest fields.
  • Call for those that will serve in night and day prayer to bring down the sweet wine into the earth—the Holy Presence of God.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I join You and say, “Behold, that days have come that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the one treading grapes, him who sows seed. The sweet wine of the Holy Spirit will drip from the mountains and flow from the hills.” I proclaim it over my neighborhood, city, state and nation. The Great Harvest of souls is ripe and ready for the reapers! The grapes are full of the wine of the Holy Spirit. Let the reapers appear! Let these young ones look back at how You have moved before. Let their hearts cry out for this move of God in their generation! Stir the hearts of the intercessors and those that will cry out day and night for the great outpouring of Holy Spirit baptisms and power in the nation. Holy Presence of God, flow. Jesus, come and be glorified in America! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The day of the harvest and the outpouring of Holy Spirit power has come to America!

History Being Made in Korea?

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in North Korea today, meeting with representatives there on the issue of denuclearization. Much wisdom is needed in these negotiations. Everything must be out in the open. North Korea will need to be more open than they have been in generations. We believe God has answered the prayers of multitudes of His saints, including those in North and South Korea, leading to this time. God wants all of Korea to be free to worship Him and to become everything He created them to be. He has a plan for the nations of North and South Korea and He has a plan for each individual there. This takes Holy Spirit’s involvement, not just governmental negotiation. What an opportune time to pray!

“He will settle disputes among the nations, among the great powers near and far. They will hammer their swords into plows and their spears into pruning knives. Nations will never again go to war, never prepare for battle again.” (Micah 4:3; GNT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray against confusion, the spirit of fear, and the fear of man in the negotiations happening these next few days between North Korea and the United States of America.
  • Intercede for the negotiators to be alert to, and overcome, any tactic of the North Korean delegation that could make the outcome less than favorable.
  • Intercede for Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, that he will have wisdom as the head of the United States delegation. Pray he listens to the wisdom of his delegation.
  • Ask God for revelation on what the discipling of nations means for North Korea and for open doors for the Body of Christ to go in and disciple North Korea.
  • Decree opportunities and doors to open so that North Korea and South Korea can reach their full potential and become the nation(s) God dreamed about when He created the nations and peoples of the earth.

A prayer you can pray:

God, we ask for You to bestow blessing, grace, favor, and influence on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, as he and his team negotiates with the North Korean delegation today. Grant him great wisdom for this task. Remove all fear, confusion, and fear of man from the negotiators. Make them alert to even subtle tactics that would keep the negotiations from having the full effect of freedom for all Koreans. Let the team work together in complete unity. You have a dream for Korea and for each person living there. It is time, Jesus, for these dreams to come to pass. May nothing stand in the way of Your dreams being fulfilled! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The dream God has for the Korean people shall be fulfilled!

Loosing the Fiery Evangelists

The Lord loves people! He doesn’t just love Believers. He loves those who don’t believe. He loves those we call “the lost” or “sinners”. He loves them. For God so loved the world that He  gave His only Son. We need a double-portion anointing for evangelism in this generation. Holy Spirit is coming to rescue millions and cleanse them by the blood of the Lamb. He is going to bring them into His family. He is going to loose evangelists whose hearts beat with a passionate fire for the lost. He is going to loose these fiery evangelists into our neighborhoods and across America and the world!

For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:13-15a; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Ask the Lord for a double-portion of anointing to evangelize the lost in your arenas of influence.
  • Passionately intercede for a few minutes for the raising up of these fiery evangelists.
  • Cry out for the release of the harvest from every ethnicity, people group, and age group that the Holy Spirit brings to your mind.
  • Cry out for divine meetings between these passionate evangelists and the lost.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we cry out now for a double-portion anointing to evangelize this generation. We ask You for a great passion for the lost to come upon this generation of evangelists. Give us this generation! From every ethnicity, every people group, every age group, give us souls. Give us the greatest awakening the world has ever witnessed. The Ekklesia gathers and does what Your Word says to do. We pray and decree and call forth and send laborers into the harvest. Loose the laborers! Let the loosing of the evangelists begin! In Jesus Name, amen.

Today’s decree:

The fiery evangelists are being loosed into the harvest!

Independence Day 2018

Family, flags, picnics, parades, and fireworks are the staples of Independence Day today. It’s our nation’s “birthday” and we will celebrate it for all the world to see. The United States of America is turning 242 years old! Our nation is a miracle. Our republic has lasted, despite threats, politics, wars, and attacks of all kinds against us. Here we are. Our founders would be pleased and shocked all at the same time, if they could see us now. We continue to stand on the bedrock of the U. S. Constitution. We continue to fight to keep God welcome and involved in every aspect of our daily lives, including our laws and governance. It hasn’t been easy and the cost has been great, but Happy Birthday, America! We are so thankful to God for the United States of America!

And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:20; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank God for establishing the dream in His heart called, “The United States of America!”
  • Think of one historic issue that is still unresolved today and intercede into it for a bit. (Racism is one that comes to mind.)
  • Look in the news and find a current issue that is dividing our nation and intercede into that. (Immigration is at the forefront. The open seat on the Supreme Court is likely to be a divided issue.)
  • Pray against all forms of violence against America – terrorism, racial division, school shootings, etc. Ask for the blood of Jesus to protect us from all harm.
  • Despite all the challenges, thank God again for this wonderful country we get to call “home”!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we are forever grateful that You dreamt of a nation that would honor You from its foundations. You established it as You sent Your servants here. You gave their descendants a grace to honor You above any other and to demand the freedom to govern themselves under You. Wow! What a wonderful heritage we have. (Think of one historic issue that is still unresolved today and intercede into it for a bit. (Racism is one that comes to mind.) Look in the news and find a current issue that is dividing our nation and intercede into that. (Immigration is at the forefront. The open seat on the Supreme Court is likely to be a divided issue.)) We ask for the blood of Jesus to stand as a barrier over America to any plans of the enemy to harm us. We lift up a banner of worship from sea to shining sea, even as we celebrate, Jesus. Keep us safe another year. Glory and honor to the Name above every other name, amen.

Today’s decree:

The United States of America will remain free under God’s watchful eye!

Freedom For All

Tomorrow, we will celebrate Independence Day. It is America’s “birthday” and the beginning of what was to become one of the strongest and most free nations in the modern world. From that day until this one, we struggle to remain a free society. “Freedom” has not been a given for all of our citizens over the years, however. That has really been an unfolding over time. I don’t mean to simplify this, but why did it take from July 4th, 1776 all the way to July 2, 1964 to sign the Civil Rights Act guaranteeing non-white persons and women equality in the workplace in America. Wasn’t all that already stated in the Declaration of Independence and affirmed in the Constitution of the United States of America, defined even more clearly over time by various Amendments added to the latter document to reinforce the intent? Sadly, fallen human nature redefines “people” in order to oppress certain persons they want to exploit – or remove from society. Freedom for all, means freedom for every single citizen! We can limit unrighteous  behavior via our laws, but a person is a person, like it or not. A person is a person from conception to the grave and tomorrow we will celebrate the freedom of all! Because, Jesus loves us all!

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.” (1 Peter 2:16; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Christians should be the most free people in a free nation, because we can live free from sin’s traps in our lives. Rejoice!
  • Pray for any person or people group you can think of that is not experiencing civic freedom in the United States today. There are still injustices from time to time.
  • Pray for the lost around you—family, friends, neighbors, and others you may see as you go about your day. Pray that they find true freedom in the salvation of Jesus Christ.
  • Intercede for those who want freedom and acceptance for their ungodly or unrighteous behaviors. They don’t understand that civic freedom will not bring freedom to their hearts and minds. Only Jesus’ power and love can do that.
  • Pray for the ending of abortion in America and the protection of life for our pre-born citizens.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we as the people of the United States of America, aspire to be truly free! We know the only true freedom will come from knowing Jesus Christ, Your magnificent Son. Our national freedom is like frosting on the cake to those of us who know Jesus. We would that everyone living here would come to know You. Help the Ekklesia know how to live fully in the freedom granted us in Your Kingdom and in our national governing documents. Let unrighteousness be turned back at the gates. I ask that the same guarantee of freedom under the Constitution be extended to the pre-born. Let that affirmation come quickly, Lord, Jesus. Let us love like You love and share that loving freedom with everyone we come in contact with. May America become more “free” every day. Amen!

Today’s decree:

Freedom in Christ is true national freedom!
