Believing God Against Impossible Odds

I have been overwhelmed for a while now about the number of dreams people are sending me having to do with this nation. They are all good. They don’t all imply “easy”. None of them imply “the work is done”. They all indicate that we are moving into what we have been crying out for. We just have to finish well. I will share some of those dreams in the coming days. Today, I want to talk about when they started coming in.

In 2017, the Lord instructed me to carry a mantle of prayer for the nation under the banner of the Appeal to Heaven flag. That flag was commissioned by General George Washington during the Revolutionary War. He flew it over the battlefields, the ships, and the camps. All of those involved in the war knew that if God didn’t come through, it was laughable for us to even think we could win a war against the greatest empire on the earth at that time.

I have been reading and studying about that war since that time. I have been struck with how impossible it was for that fledgling group of colonists to win a war like that. There were hundreds of opportunities for it to fall apart. Yet, God kept supernaturally helping them. This was because of their appeal to heaven. Under the flag that he commissioned, General Washington interceded for his troops. He led them in prayer before every battle. That flag was a reminder for them to appeal to the Lord for success, because they knew they couldn’t win that war any other way. If God was not fighting for them, it was not possible.

“You must not fear them, for the Lord your God Himself fights for you.” (Deuteronomy 3:22; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • We can fear the harshness of the enemy or remember and trust in the faithfulness of God. Make a choice.
  • If your battle feels like  more than you can handle, passionately, purposefully and consistently appeal to heaven for breakthrough.
  • If the battle for America feels impossible, remember Israel’s great battles to obtain their promises.
  • Declare, “Therefore, we will not fear, but we will trust in the Name of the Lord our God. He made the heavens and the earth and He is able to deliver us out of the hand of the evil one!”
  • Say, “With God, all things are possible!” Name the victories you are expecting.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, today we make a choice to believe You instead of fearing what the enemy can do to us. The odds are not in our favor. Examples from history show that this is common in spiritual battles. From stories in the Bible, such as the battles Joshua and Gideon led, to America’s Revolutionary War, we see these overwhelming odds against Your people. Yet, You came through when You were sought for the victory! George Washington knew that unless there was a persistent appeal to heaven, the war was lost before it began. He had a flag designed to remind his troops to pray for You were involved in the battle. Joshua kept reminding his people to put aside fear, seek You, and do whatever You told them to do, because You were directing the battle. You are all about fulfilling Your promises. We must only keep You in our sights. We must watch and listen carefully for You and Your instructions. If we do that, we will not fear, but we will trust in Your wonderful Name. You made the heavens and the earth and You are able to deliver us out of the hand of the evil one! With You all things are possible! We look for You for breakthrough in our personal situations, as well as to fulfill the promises given for our nation. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Today’s decree:

We will win the war we are in because God is fighting for us!

God’s Choice to Turn a Nation (Louisiana Abortion Case at the SCOTUS TODAY!)

I have often encouraged believers to judge what God is doing in America—not by what they see or hear naturally—but by the spirit. Elijah “saw” and “heard” drought-breaking rain (the sign of God’s favor returning to Israel) before there was even a cloud in the sky (see 1 Kings 18:41). Likewise, in today’s America, the moral depravity and staggering departure from God and our Christian roots can easily mask what He is doing.

However, a huge sign was given to us three years ago when God began using one of the most unlikely men in America to trumpet a political message: “drain the swamp” and “make America great again.” I would have chosen an individual with a great moral record, sound theology, a worshipping heart and true humility. God chose Donald J. Trump. And it has been oh-so-refreshing to watch him buck the system and expose the evil agendas of Washington DC. The far left (as does the kingdom of darkness) hates him.

Why was Trump’s election so angering to the left? Through government, media, education and entertainment, there has been a successful, full-on 60-70 year effort to reshape America, turning us from our Christian roots and our God-given destiny, which is to be the leading voice of the gospel and liberty around the world. (This, probably unbeknownst to POTUS, is our nation’s true greatness.) Trump’s win interrupted and is even reversing this antichrist momentum. His federal judges and Supreme Court appointments alone (with more coming) have been an immeasurable setback to the left. Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, stated recently: “We can withstand one term, but the destruction he would do to the courts in our country [if he is given 4 more years] …he must be defeated!” She and her far left allies were nearly rabid with anger and hatred at the State of the Union address. They know their agenda is being thwarted.

God’s divine reversal isn’t finished, however. The exposing of evil will continue, as will the turnaround. This year, 2020, is the hinge year. If we persist, the door into America’s great revival and resurrection will swing open fully this year. And we will.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Are you able to see past natural national circumstances and into what God is doing?
  • Write down at least one thing you know God is doing in America, even if the media, left-leaning politicians, and others are trying to ignore, cover over, or discredit it.
  • Louisiana’s abortion case will be heard at the Supreme Court TODAY. Intercede for the turning around of abortion. Let the nation choose LIFE!
  • Consider some things that President Trump has done that have surprised you, such as returning prayer to schools, enacting protections for the unborn, ensuring the protection of religious freedoms, filling the courts with conservative judges, and acknowledging Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
  • Have you heard news of national revivals? They are happening!
  • Keep praying for God to arise and all of His enemies to be scattered!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, let Your Church not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So often, we get really tired and stop right when You are about to move! It is the same in a natural birth. The mama wants to see that baby, but she gets so tired in the transition period, that she wants to stop. Her doctor, midwife, and husband must often whole-heartedly encourage her to press in and keep going, because the baby is almost there! Let the intercessors be as midwives right now. The enemy’s attacks are growing stronger, which means we are almost there! You have been moving, You are moving! We are about to see the things we have contended for becoming reality. Laws are changing. People are moving out and moving into place. Culture is slowly changing. We cannot grow weary now!

Louisiana’s case is at the Supreme Court today. It is a case that could be the beginning of the end of aboriton in America. We must pray today and throughout the next couple of weeks, while the justices make their decision. President Trump has positioned constitutional justices on the Court and we pray they can find the reason to support Louisiana and their Unsafe Abortion Protections Act. There are so many things this President has done to support Life. Thank You for giving this man to our nation, even though he is an unusual choice. You knew what was in him. You knew what the nation needed.

Lord, move now to give us more than a governmentally-changed culture. Give us a spiritually changed one. Give us the harvest we long for—a harvest of souls! That and that alone can secure a nation that honors You and holds onto the cultural changes for our children and grandchildren. We ask this in Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

The Ekklesia will pray and the exposing of evil will continue, as will the turnaround!

DEAR FRIENDS,

We, along with other global leaders, are calling for a national day of prayer to end the Coronavirus. After seeking wisdom and prophetic counsel from prophets across the nation and world, we believe strongly that since this is a worldwide issue, it’s going to take the whole church to cry out together for the mercy and healing power of God to contain it.

The renowned passage 2 Chronicle 7:14 promises us that if God’s people pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, then He will heal our lands. Throughout the history of the United States, presidents have sought to align the nation with this sacred promise. During the Civil War in the United States, President Abraham Lincoln wrote, “Let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings…” Though circumstances are different, the promise remains the same for each nation enduring the coronavirus. God will hear our united cry! He will heal our land. The tide will turn!

In light of this understanding, we are asking for mobilization on a global scale this Tuesday, March 3, for a day of fasting and prayer for our respective nations, in order to stop the spread of the virus and heal the people affected by it. Our global conference call begins at 11:00 A.M. US Eastern Time. Our Global Prayer Live Broadcast begins at 7:14 P.M. U.S. Central Time.

What have the prophets said that we should do in this time of prayer?

1. Pray Psalm 91 over your families and nations.

“When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High, our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm. HOW THEN COULD EVIL PREVAIL AGAINST US OR DISEASE INFECT US?” (Passion Translation, Ps. 91:9-10)

2. The prophets are concerned that fear is spreading in epidemic proportions in our nations. Therefore, during this prayer time, we want to both pray against fear and remind ourselves that God has not given us a spirit of fear. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).

3. Because fear can cause us to also make reactionary or unwise decisions, we pray for wisdom for our leaders to contain the spread of the virus while protecting their people effectively. We pray also for the crisis response teams and emergency responders in each nation to be protected and be effective.

Two aspects of fear were identified—the fear of the contagious disease itself and the fear of lack. The fear of lack can cause economies to collapse and people to move into individual survivalism. Pray that the Lord will give individuals wisdom from Heaven during this season rather than becoming reactionary in self-protection.

For this reason we feel this is a wake-up call that we are a global church, and that the challenges affecting other nations truly affect us all. Pray for the nations as we pray for our own!

If you have been complacent about praying for other nations suffering from this virus, we encourage a time of reflection and repentance.

4. Across the world people are being faced with the greatest fear known to mankind—the prospect of our own mortality. Pray for courage for believers to share Jesus effectively through this time of crisis.

5. Many prophetic voices across the world have been prophesying the coming of the next great awakening, and that it will happen on a worldwide scale. Forces of evil would like to use this to either delay or disrupt the coming awakenings and revivals. Intercede that this will not happen, but rather escalate the moves of God worldwide. God wants this season to turn into a catalyst of revival instead of contagion.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 NKJV).

6. Make a decree that the coronavirus will cease worldwide, and that God will heal all who are currently affected by it.

7. Re-consecrate yourselves, your families, and your nation to God through the taking of communion. Remember the miracle of Passover. Plead and apply the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts of your spheres.

“My cherished friends, keep on running far away from idolatry. I know I am writing to thoughtful people, so carefully consider what I say. For when we pray for the blessing of the communion cup, isn’t this our co-participation with the blood of Jesus? And the bread that we distribute, isn’t this the bread of our co-participation with the body of Christ? FOR ALTHOUGH WE’RE MANY, WE BECOME ONE LOAF OF BREAD AND ONE BODY AS WE FEAST TOGETHER ON ONE LOAF” (1 Corinthians 10:14-17 TPT).

Franklin Graham Says, “Register to Vote”

Tomorrow is the official primary election date in a number of states. You can check for your state here. The problem is that many Christians do not vote, and to be able to vote, you have to be registered! So, you may have missed out this time, but get registered before the General Election Day November 3, 2020! As to what’s at stake this year, read this excerpt from an article by Michael W. Chapman below.

“Expressing shock and disappointment that some presidential contenders, such as socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT), support abortion on demand, no restrictions, and Marxist ideas such as nationalization of industry and Cuban-style health care, Rev. Franklin Graham urged Christians ‘to pray for our nation’ and the ‘upcoming elections.’  He added that Americans need to register to vote, ‘otherwise we will lose our country.’

“In a Feb. 12 post on Facebook, the evangelical leader said, ‘The Democratic Party has changed so much that it’s hard to believe. Just a few days ago Bernie Sanders declared that “being pro-choice is an absolutely essential part of being a Democrat.” That’s shocking and disturbing.’

“’He also vowed, “I will never nominate any person to the Supreme Court or the federal courts in general who is not 100% pro Roe v. Wade,”’ said Graham, son of the late Pastor Billy Graham.

“’He went further to write, “We have got to codify Roe v. Wade into law and significantly expand funding for Planned Parenthood,”’ noted Graham. Where is the voice of those in the Democratic Party who disagree? Where’s the outcry against this and the acceptance of socialism?’

“’This is an example of why it is so important for people of faith to research who you vote for in every election and understand where they stand on issues that are important to you,’ said Rev. Graham. ‘I urge Christians to pray for our nation, our leaders, and the upcoming elections, from local to national.’

“‘Make sure that you are registered to vote, otherwise we will lose our country,’ said Graham.” (Courtesy of CNSNews.com)

“If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • If you forgot or neglected to register to vote and cannot vote in your state’s primaries, many of which are tomorrow, repent and determine that you will before the General Elections, November 3rd.
  • Look here for state and national candidates and issues that could affect you and your family.
  • Also, use iVoterGuide.com to find and educate yourself on your political representation, as well as to pray for them.
  • Begin to intercede now for the General Elections. This is such an important decision. We will be literally choosing life or death for the nation.
  • Declare, “As for me and my house, we choose LIFE for the United States of America!”

A prayer you can pray:

Father, it appears that this year’s national elections are going to determine the course of our nation for quite a while. It’s both good and bad that those running for office are extremely divided on some critical issues. We desire You to heal our divided nation, and it is making it easier to see how to vote. We can’t vote anymore by political party affiliation. We need to get past what party our parents and grandparents chose. They’re not the same now. We also can’t look at the flawed humans running to represent the parties. We really have to look at the candidates’ ideologies and the party platforms. Only then can we see if any choice is one You could approve for America.

We need to heed Rev. Franklin Graham’s warning, “to pray for our nation” and the “upcoming elections.”  He added that Americans need to register to vote, “otherwise we will lose our country.” This is no threat based in fear. This is a real threat based on real candidates’ statements. We need to learn about each one running for office and what they are espousing. We need to vote for LIFE, first and foremost. We need to choose those who most stand for principles God teaches us in His Word, such as what a man and a woman are, what a marriage is, what freedom to choose really looks like, what personal ownership and beneficial economies look like, whether countries should have boundaries and clear borders, and so many other things. We cannot decide these things by what sounds good or what we decide as a group is a good thing. May that never be! We will determine in our hearts, “If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” In the Name and to the honor of Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church will register to vote, we will vote,  and we will choose the Lord for our nation!

Key Supreme Court Case Being Heard March 4th

“March 4, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Dr. Rebekah Gee, et al, v. June Medical Services L.L.C., et al. This is the Louisiana Abortion hospital admitting privileges case (Unsafe Abortion Protection Act) which also deals with whether the abortion industry should have third party standing to assert the rights of women to seek abortions.

“I, Cynthia Collins, testified on this case in 2014, in the Louisiana legislature giving my personal testimony. I also gave testimony of the hundreds of women I’ve counseled that were hurt by abortion and the thousands who have submitted legal declarations through Operation Outcry. The law passed and was signed by our Governor. The abortion industry brought suit against Louisiana. After going through the state and federal court system for six years, on March 4, 2020, the case will be heard at the Supreme Court.

“This is the first abortion case in three years that the Supreme Court has set for oral argument. There are two new members of The Court, Justice Kavanaugh and Gorsuch. I believe the Lord is going to end the ‘covenant with death’ the ‘agreement with Sheol (the grave)’ that is legalized abortion at some point in America. See Isaiah 28:14-22. This case can be the beginning of the end of the ‘crime against humanity’ and God which is abortion. But we must pray! Click here to read the Brief of Melinda Thybault, on behalf of 264,500 signers of The Moral Outcry Petition seeking reversal of Roe v. Wade.

“Your prayers are needed now, through March 4th, the day of Oral Argument,  and until the day the Supreme Court decides this pivotal case. The Court concludes their session on June 30, 2020.

Click here to read the Amicus Curiae Brief of Operation Outcry which includes 4,660 testimonies of women hurt by abortion.

“We need a spiritual army of justice to arise to bring the presence of The Holy Spirit of The Living God, (pray He will send  the angelic army of The Lord of Hosts to join us) in Washington, D.C. on the day of oral argument, from before sunrise at 6:56 a.m., to the close of business at 4:30 p.m. We want to maintain a peaceful, prayerful presence of the Body of Christ in front of the Supreme Court building all day. It will be a very intense spiritual battle. The presence of The Lord and His people is needed. If you cannot attend, please pray now and every day.” (Allen E. Parker and Cynthia Collins)

“I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place. Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand…” (Isaiah 28:17-18)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer (by The Moral Outcry):

  • Pray that this Court affirm the decision below, that the Louisiana Unsafe Abortion Protection Act be upheld as constitutional; that third party standing be denied; and that Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton and Planned Parenthood v. Casey be reversed, overturned, cancelled and annulled because abortion hurts women. In the 21st century, there is a far better alternative to abortion through Safe Haven laws. No woman will ever be unduly burdened by child care.
  • Please pray that the 4,660 testimonies of Women Injured by Abortion, as well as Norma McCorvey the former “Roe” of Roe v. Wade and Sandra Cano, the former “Doe” of Doe v Bolton, the companion case to Roe, (who later came to publicly oppose abortion), will be read  and “heard” by the Court.
  • Please pray that the eyes of the media will be opened and that truthful reporting will expose the lies of abortion.
  • Please pray “Arise O Lord and let your spiritual enemies be scattered.” Pray for a quiet day in front of the Court with the Holy Spirit’s peace abundantly present.
  • Please pray for salvation and healing of all humans involved in or supporting the abortion industry.
  • Please pray for the women of Operation Outcry who are bravely sharing their testimonies about the unsafe abortion industry.
  • Please pray that all the pro-life briefs, evidence and arguments will be received with open eyes, hearts, ears and minds.
  • Please pray Holy Spirit leads, guides, directs, intervenes in this legal case.
  • Please pray the Word of God… especially scriptures on God’s Justice and scripture from Isaiah 28…”the covenant of death will be annulled. The agreement with the grave will not stand…” and Isaiah 45.
  • Please pray especially for Louisiana Attorney General, Jeff Landry and Louisiana Solicitor General, Liz Murrill… and all life affirming attorneys working on this case who will argue before the court, including the U.S. Solicitor General, Neal Francisco, and Louisiana Senator Katrina Jackson who sponsored the bill.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, maker of all life, we come before You today and ask You to grant life to this nation. We bring before you Supreme Court case, Dr. Rebekah Gee, et al, v. June Medical Services L.L.C., et al, which will be heard this Wednesday, March 4. God, let this Louisiana case be ruled on to the benefit of this nation and for all of the women of this country. We ask You to forgive former Court decisions, which opened doors to death and the destruction of so many millions of lives. Over 61 million of our citizens were violently removed from the womb. Multitudes more have experienced death and trauma surrounding these heinous procedures. Dear Lord, please make these barbaric practices stop! Heal all of the women and children harmed. Heal the memories of those who have left the abortion industry and now work to expose it. We pray they would know Jesus, the only Healer. Make them strong advocates for life.

We pray for the life affirming attorneys working on this case. Let them be successful in making their arguments before the Court. We pray for the nine Supreme Court Justices. Let the majority rule with constitutional justice and reverse any former curse. Convict the consciences of them all. Holy Spirit, we ask that You lead, guide, and direct this case start to finish. It is so critical for America! Let any former covenant of death be annulled and the agreement with the grave fall, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We will contend for the ending of abortion in America! Let America’s covenant of death be annulled.

Voting to Reform the Culture

Primary Election Days are upon us and for voters of faith there are some things worth remembering.

“I am a part of a movement that is mobilizing the Church for action to get out and vote. This was not something we just set out to do. I was a local pastor. But, a number of years ago, the Lord began to impress on me that Christians have a responsibility. We have a responsibility to our communities. We have a responsibility to our cities. We have a responsibility to our states. We have a responsibility to our nation. We need to engage the culture and re-form the culture for the sake of the generations following behind us. We Christians have given up our culture in the past, but it’s time to take it back. The world is not going to do our job. If we want to reform our culture, it is going to take the Church of the living God to get in the prayer closet and begin to engage. And, one of the places we need to engage is in the ballot box.

“We need to be like the sons of Issachar who understood the times and knew what to do. Anybody can look around and discern the times they are living in, but not everybody knows what to do to change it or move it forward. We can see what’s happening, yet not know what to do about it.

“2020 is an election year. From the White House to the Court house, all the way to ‘my house’, we are going to need to engage. In 2020, we can no longer just be the ‘Presence Church’. We are going to have to be the ‘Voting Church’, too! We can’t just pray and say, ‘Okay God, just do what You are going to do.’ We need to vote as if our lives depended on it. We need to get out there and vote and ‘stake the ground’ spiritually.

“In my lifetime some things happened to remove God from our culture. In 1962 prayer was removed from school. In 1963, Bible reading became illegal in schools. In 1973, abortion became legal in America. Between 1963 and 1973 an interesting thing happened. There was a major move of God called ‘The Jesus Movement’ and multitudes of people came to know Jesus as their Savior. But in 1973, abortion still became legal. There is something wrong with that picture. How can God be on the seat of my heart and my life and my church, but abortion still become legal? Here’s the thing. It is not enough for me to have a great walk with God and a great church, if we are not impacting the culture.” (Mark Gonzales)

“Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.” (Daniel 9:18-19; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Go back and read Genesis chapters 1 through 3 and notice what God says to Adam and Eve about stewardship.
  • Increase your prayer life for things outside your personal needs.
  • Worship God in a place of intimacy, then ask Him what’s on His heart and intercede into that.
  • Now, go do the action associated with that intercession. If you prayed for the ending of abortion, do something to end it. If you prayed for the strengthening of the family, find out how to help do that. He may lay on Your heart something He wants You to engage in.
  • Intercede for the Church to use tools like iVoterGuide.com for prayer and action and the reformation of our society.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, You have given Your Church the privilege of partnering with You over the affairs of the earth. You are allowing us to participate with You in stewarding all of the earth realm, not just the animals, birds, fish, land, air, and sea. You want us to work with You to steward the affairs of the earth, including bringing righteousness into our homes and our government. You created government and this is very important to You. You said that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice. Why then would we want the unrighteous to be the only ones voting. They will make unrighteous decisions that Your Church will then have to live under. We don’t want our children subjected to that!

So, Your Church needs to get this! You need to light a fire in us, Lord. We need our prayer meetings, yes! But, we also need to know what’s going on in the world around us. We need to educate ourselves on legislation, pray and vote. We need to educate ourselves on candidates running for office at every level, local to national, and we need to go vote! Stir us to action, Jesus. Don’t let us think that someone else will take responsibility for us. We must do so. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church will get out and vote, and will reform American culture!

Finding Freedom Through God’s Word

I had a circumstance that occurred many years ago that affected me deeply. I witnessed a very bad freeway accident. I saw a semi-truck slide up and over a median and into oncoming traffic. The car it hit was thrown end over end and the driver was ejected. I was first on the scene and with the man as his life passed away. I had never experienced anything like that before. It traumatized me. For quite a while, every time I shut my eyes, I would see the scene all over again. I couldn’t stop seeing it. Soon, I was afraid to shut my eyes and my sleep was affected. I didn’t tell anyone what I was experiencing. I just tried to stop it, but I couldn’t.

Then one day, I remembered the power of the Word of God. I went to the Bible and I found all the scriptures I could on fear and trauma. I began to speak those life-giving words over my life and over my mind. I went to Psalm 23, 27, 91, etc. I memorized those passages of scripture. Every day, diligently, all day long, I declared God’s Word over myself.  I meditated on it. I would close my eyes and picture a scroll and see myself reading those memorized scriptures from it. I had to read God’s Word to go to sleep at night. The only way I could fall asleep and keep from seeing the accident was to see the scriptures, instead. Sometimes I had to speak the Word out loud. I would go to sleep speaking the Word. If I woke up in the middle of the night, I had to do it all over again. It took about three weeks, but one day, I realized, the pictures of the accident and all the underlying emotions were gone. As suddenly as it had happened, just as suddenly it was gone.

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’” (John 8:31-32; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Remember where fear first entered the world—at the Fall. Think about what Adam and Eve felt at the moment they sinned and fear entered their hearts and minds. Can you imagine how traumatic that must have been?
  • You may be dealing with a deep seated fear, toxic fear, or trauma that you cannot shake. You may have tried to get it to go away unsuccessfully. First, ask the Lord to flood you with His love, because His perfect love casts out all fear.
  • Say, “I can be free!”
  • Pray for the exact right scriptures to use as a healing sword for your heart and mind. Be ready to memorize them, and quote them out loud, over and over for weeks, maybe months, until the fear and trauma break. It will!
  • My book, “Becoming Who You Are” may be helpful to you. You can find it here on the DSM website.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, You want so much for Your people to be free from this horrible thing called fear. It arrived in the Garden of Eden. Immediately, when Adam and Eve sinned, they felt fear for the first time. They experienced fear of rejection, fear of failing, fear of death, and an inappropriate fear of God. We are so susceptible to this. Would you invade us with Your Father heart? Would You bring hope to us? Let something begin to rise up in us that says, “I can be free!” Lord, we will ask You first to simply deliver us from any fear or trauma the enemy may be buffeting us with. If Your plan is a two-week or two-month process of coming to You daily and soaking in the Bible verses, the Word of God, that You lead us to, we are okay with that. Get us to the right verse in the right book. Give us an ability to memorize those scriptures. Let them soak into our hearts and minds deeply. Let those Words work through the power of the Holy Spirit to bring life where death is threatened. Give us a sound, disciplined mind, free from fear. Let the Word become so strong in us that we believe what You say, and we know we will be set free! Let us be free! Let us be free to be all You want us to be in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The power of the Word of God will set us free from every attack of Satan!

Finding God’s Purpose

Do you ever feel like there is something in you that you are wanting to risk and move into another field? Maybe you are currently doing something with your life that just doesn’t feel like it’s a good fit for who you are. Maybe you’re not happy doing what you’re doing and there’s something in you that wants to be able to take a little risk. Don’t be reckless and mess up your family or lose everything moving forward without a plan. However, I think there’s something God made you for that you will enjoy. I would find out what that something is and find a way with the Lord to do it. In fact, I would rather make half the money I’m making and enjoy what I’m doing with my life, than get to the end of my life and say, “I didn’t like what I spent my life doing.”

I think God has something for you to do that you will like. He made you with gifts and strengths and talents that He intends to help you use. But, you’ll never get there if you are not willing to take at least a small risk.

Sometimes, after God heals an area of our lives, there comes a time we need to test it. We have been talking for a number of days about God healing our fears and the effects they have on us, as well as on the generations that may follow us.  You may experience a solid unwillingness to change; a digging your heels in at any thought of change. You may even experience emotional torment, because you hate where you are so much, but can’t bring yourself to get past the fear to make the change. Or, you may become a professional worrier. You need to let God heal all of that, so you can hear Him, and His heart of love for you, then work with Him to move your life onto His path.

This could be as significant as a career change, but don’t assume that. It could be a strengthening of relationships in your life, such as your marriage. A strong marriage is a good foundation for working together to get your family where God wants you to be. A supportive spouse can help you find God’s path for your life, because it will affect them, also. It could be that God wants you to do something at a volunteer level, or that He wants you to take some classes or get other training. Maybe it’s a hobby He will have you lean into, like painting or photography, that will ultimately bring great joy to you and touch others’ lives. Whatever it is, don’t stay stuck, go get to work on it!

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Read Psalm 139.
  • Thank the Lord that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Declare, “My soul knows it well.”
  • Pray through other items in that Psalm.
  • Ask the Lord to show you the path He has formed for you to walk on. Ask Him how to get there. What do you need to let go of and what do you need to add to your life?
  • If you are married, seek the Lord together with your spouse. See where His plans for you intersect. You are meant to help each other move forward, but fear in either one of you will make it hard. Work on finding that place of agreement.
  • Declare, “For You know the plans You have for me, Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give me a future and a hope.”

A prayer you can pray:

God, what a beautiful passage of scripture is Psalm 139. It really shows us how intimately acquainted You are with all our ways. You formed us, You desired us, You have a plan for us. We are not here randomly or by accident. We were planned for such a time as this. We were created to live in this very generation. Without knowing Christ, our lives could be wasted. We might never find Your perfect plan for us. As it is, it seems Satan is trying his hardest to keep us from it. But, You are able to deliver us from his schemes and get us right where you want us.

Deliver us from all of our fears, Lord. From the smallest point of doubt, to the terror of major change, deal with us. Bring us together with our spouses. Make us one. Either of us may be struggling with a fear that will hold our family back. We have to find Your will together, Lord. We have to help each other overcome any fear together,  so we can find our way forward together.

We extend this to the Body of Christ. The harvest may be waiting for our positioning. You know the plans You have for us, Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope. Move to line us up with those plans in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

God knows His plan for us. We need to tuck in close and find it and walk in it!

Finding Our Identity in Him

God wanted me to be a student of  the Word, a teacher, and a writer. I had to be the kind of person who could spend long hours alone, not needing a lot of outgoing, social life. He knew I would live a lot of my life on flights and in hotel rooms. He knew I would study for hours and hours, and write for hours and hours. So, He created me with a personality that is okay with that. I enjoy the quiet and the solitude. I would much rather be off by myself studying than engaging in chit-chat. Chit-chatty people are strange to me, but my quietness may seem strange to you! Doesn’t matter. It’s what God wanted.

If God had not dealt with the thing in me driving myself to clown around in large groups trying to be accepted, I would never have shifted into who I really am. Maybe I would have spent my entire life trying to meet a need in me to get people to like me, and missed who I really am. That’s a scary thought to me. I want to be who I am. I want to be free to be who God made me to be.

Hear me. This is a completely different way of dealing with identity issues than you may have been taught. There is nothing psychological in this. This is spiritual warfare at its root. Not knowing the love Jesus has for you is an open door for the enemy to come in with all kinds of fears. And he will twist and turn and cause your brain to think like he wants you to think about yourself, until you don’t even know who you are. You will find yourself working very hard in some way just to survive. Satan will steal your identity, kill your true self, and destroy your destiny. This will eventually keep us from sharing the Gospel in the realms of influence He created us for.

“Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is

for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.” (1 John 4:18; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Declare, “I want to know Your perfect love for me, Lord! I want to be confident in Your love for me.”
  • Say, “Your perfect love for me drives out all fear, which the enemy uses to keep me from knowing who I really am in You.”
  • Decree, “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!”
  • Intercede for the Bride of Christ, the army of the living God. Intercede for a fresh revelation of His love, such that all fear to share the Gospel falls away.
  • Pray for great, massive outpourings of His love in revivals across the nation.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, I need to know Your perfect love for me. I struggle when I cannot feel You and feel like I cannot find You. I want to know Your perfect love for me, Lord! I want to be confident in Your love for me. Your perfect love for me drives out all fear, which the enemy uses to keep me from knowing who I really am in You. I want to know who I am, so I can do what You created me to do. I want to be perfectly positioned by You in the career or other place You have designed me to be. Let’s get to work on any hindrances. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

You reveal Yourself to the Church through Your Holy Spirit and through Your Word. Make these our deepest friends. Make our hearts long for You in the pages of Your Book. Where we resist You, love us into wholeness. We can help each other become whole and get going in the right direction. We will share Your Gospel more boldly, if we are confident of Your love. Let great massive revivals of Your love sweep across America, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Knowing how perfectly God loves us will remove all our fear, draw us to Jesus, and will release the true identity of the Church!

Reversing the Effects of Fear of Rejection

If you struggle with fear of rejection, you will always manipulate. You will try to control people and circumstances. Show me an agressive, controlling person, and I’ll show you there’s a root of fear somewhere in their life. They may not even know it.

I once knew a successful businessman, who was very articulate, had a great job, great marriage, and great kids. He had been a successful football player. He had started into that career, then an injury prevented him from continuing. He told me that when he was with the Dallas Cowboys they told him he was the most aggressive player they ever had. In football, that’s good! He went on to say that all his aggression was fear-motivated. He said just that week God had been dealing with him about fear in his life. You would have never known this man was controlled by fear.

Sometimes fear of rejection causes a shyness, but sometimes it results in aggression. I experienced both. Initially, my fear of rejection made me very introverted and shy. Later, I gained a little popularity in school and I became very extroverted, hiding my fear behind the extroversion. For a while, I thought I had overcome my fear of rejection, but the Lord showed me, while I was in Bible college, that it wasn’t the case. It was deep inside of me. I couldn’t see it until God began to reveal it to me.

So, I’ll say it again, “Show me a person who is really aggressive…” They might be very successful in business or their career. But, a lot of that success might be born out of something that is driving them to succeed. They might be driven to perform in a way that makes them okay with who they are. A successful person can often justify the aggressive actions they take to get there. A lot of “excellence” is motivated by fear. Criticism can’t be accepted. Fear causes us to need to be in control and strong. A person who has overcome this has a gentle spirit, even if they are still really good at what they do.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • You can’t just decide to change your personality, whether you are super shy or if you are aggressive and controlling. Even very introverted people can be controlling and manipulative. You have to let God deal with the fear at the root. Pray about that now.
  • Are you peaceful and quiet in your demeanor? Do you feel like you need to make something happen, or are you able to pray and wait for God to work things out His way? We absolutely should act when God says, “Go,” but who is really driving the activity?
  • Read Philipians 4:6-7 above and let the Holy Spirit minister to your heart.
  • Intercede for pastors, ministry leaders, business leaders, and government leaders the Holy Spirit may have brought to mind as you prayed for your own situation.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, You have told me through Your Word that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You made me the exact way that I am for Your Divine purposes. I can’t do a thing about the fact that I am quiet or outgoing, tall or short, gifted with gab or better conversationally one-on-one. All of these things and so much more are Divine. I accept those things. Somehow, though, the enemy tries to pervert who each of us were created to be by using fear against our minds. That alteration often causes us to be nothing like You want us to be. Rather that patient and kind, I may be impatient and hurtful. I can see some of my weaknesses, but not all of them. I also want to be sure that the things I consider my strengths are the things You designed to be my strengths. If there is any crooked place in me, straighten it out, Lord. I will participate with You in that. Help me to rest in You in the quietness and confidence of Your love for me. I have nothing to prove.

I also intercede for [pray here for those the Holy Spirit has laid on your heart.] I intercede, as well,  for President Trump. Lord, let Him encounter the overwhelming and life-changing power of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, lead, guide, and direct him. Check his words and tweets, so they are truthful, but not hurtful. God, You are powerfully using this President. Minister to the deep-seated fears in His life, and let him know the depths of Your love for him, so he can govern with righteousness and justice until You release him from his task. Thank You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

A peaceful and gentle spirit comes from being confident in Christ’s love for us.
