Engaging the Culture

“The Church is entering a season where we will produce elite warriors, statesmen, and heroes. They will be mighty men and women. We have forward momentum and we are going to feed it. We are going to give more resources to leadership preparation than just Sunday morning offerings given to cover the bills. We are going to have to plan. Five-fold ministry has largely been replaced by event planning. I really don’t think large crusades are wrong. However, I think we do need American Idol wanna-be’s and Dr. Phil’s. There have to be some Christians out there like that—created for cultural influence—given a voice in the culture. It’s time for Believers in this nation to stop hiding under the balcony in the second service and get where they belong in the Ekklesia. And, some of us have to help them get there.” (Don Lynch)1

I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do.” (John 17:14-16; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Can you imagine Christians, acting as the Ekklesia—the governmental authority of God— in every corner of the culture? Oh, we mostly work in the world now, but we largely hide our faith. We get to repent for our hiddenness.
  • Call forth the bold who will engage the culture! Call forth the creatives, the talented, and the most brilliant minds in Christianity, whom God has called into positions of cultural influence!
  • Call forth the five-fold equippers who are willing to pay the cost to disciple the culture-impactors.
  • Pray that our church-growth models will be replaced with societal harvest models.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, I want to sit here and dream with You for a bit. I have been feeling this new boldness coming on the Church. Whether we are the five-fold equippers or the influencers, the Ekklesia is about to open its mouth and roar! We will be heard and seen. No more hiding out inside our church buildings. We will work together to prepare this generation for government, media, arts and entertainment, and other places where the molders of society are. We choose not to relegate those realms of influence to the devil and those he uses. We won’t just pray, we will act. We will speak. We will write. We will change everything around us, as God leads us forth into a new type of spiritual warfare. So, come on equippers, get ready. You have to be ahead of those coming up behind you or they will pass you by. My eyes can see the harvest fields, so white. Come, Lord, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Here come the Believers who are “culture-impactors”!

The Importance of Prayer Coupled With Voting

“Cheryl and I have been praying and prophesying into civil government since 2003.  Our involvement in government came through a dream Cheryl had in November of that year.  We have worked in both state and national assignments to see America return to its Christian roots.  Since 2000, His Ekklesia (the Church) has seen great victory through prayer and action. We have also seen times in which we lost ground through our inaction.  In 2008, the night of the election in which Obama took office, Wolfe Blitzer of CNN said this, ‘If the evangelicals could get their act together, they could run this nation.’  This is so true. According to Psalm 115:16, He has given the earth to the sons of men. At this time, we have gained ground on both state and national levels. Now it’s time to go into prayer war mode again.  We cannot back off or rest during this midterm election.” (Ken Malone)1

The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.” (Psalms 115:16; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Ponder Psalm 115:16 in light of taking responsibility for the earthly environment in which you want to raise your children and grandchildren.
  • Are you tired of the atmosphere that actively tries to shut Christians up, allows homosexuality and transgender activities, and promotes abortion?
  • Decide to take responsibility for the part of the earth realm the Lord has given to you as your arena of influence – your family, your neighborhood, your schools, your city, your state, and this nation.
  • Ask God how you can pray for each of your areas of influence.
  • Intercede for the Church to wake up, pray and vote!
  • Encourage your Christian friends to vote. You can start by posting this link on Facebook. You can click on the various tabs (Senate, House, Governor, State) to see your state’s races.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, You have made it pretty clear in Your Word that You want Your people to involve themselves in the things of the earth. You gave us the earth for our provision, but you also want us to involve ourselves in the matters of the earth, such as in government. Just like we would relegate the earth to weeds and pollution if we did not nurture it, so we relegate culture to humanism and Godlessness if we ignore government.  We eat the fruit of what we refuse to take dominion over in accordance with Genesis 1:28. I choose to engage the culture in my family, my neighborhood, the schools near me, my city, my state, and this nation. Teach me to pray over each of these areas within my sphere of  influence. I call the Church to wake up! Intercede! Get to the polls and vote, lest what we abdicate rules over us! I choose to encourage my family and friends in this as well, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We call America’s Christians to pray and vote!

Leadership Blacksmith Shops

“We need to eliminate the accumulation of Believers as our definition of success. A mature leader is not one who is able to charismatically draw the multitudes, then leave them weak and worldly-minded. We must maximize the biblical definition of ‘maturity’ when defining ‘leaders’. This is so we can disciple cultures, which should be our ultimate goal in fulfilling the Great Commission. How many thousands of church leaders are out there, suffering, burn-out, sick and tired, even suffocating in the current structure? We will have ‘leadership blacksmith shops’. We often quote the verse, ‘The weapons of the enemy will not prosper against you,’ but in the verse before it, God says, ‘I’ll forge some weapons.’ We are going to become ekklesia leaders in Kingdom centers who not only forge weapons. We will forge warriors.” (Don Lynch)1

I’ve created blacksmiths to fan the coals into flames and to produce useful weapons. I’ve also created destroyers to bring destruction. No weapon that has been made to be used against you will succeed.” (Isaiah 54:16-17a; GWT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Let’s identificationally repent for thinking that the ability to gather together large numbers of Believers equates to leadership success in God’s eyes.
  • If you are a pastor or leader who is struggling with your role or feeling burned out, tell God about it.
  • Decide to go back to the basics of the Word of God in defining “maturity” and  church leadership. Look and look again.
  • If you are a church member who wants certain things from your pastor and/or church experience, tell God about that. Are you willing to be a warrior in God’s army?
  • Call forth the creation of leadership blacksmith shops!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, forgive us humans for deciding what mature Christian leadership looks like. We are meant to be more like an army than a gathering of sheep on a hillside. Congregations filled with Believers left unconfronted and unchallenged to live differently from the world will never expand Your Kingdom or disciple nations. Refresh our leaders. Recommission and refocus them according to Your definition of  a “mature Christian leader”. Take us back to Your Word for our definitions. Forgive the Body for telling the leaders how to act and how to meet our needs. We need to grow up, get trained, and get engaged in Kingdom warfare. Turn our churches into leadership blacksmith shops! In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

We will create Leadership Blacksmith Shops in America!

The Battle of this Generation – What is “Church”?

“Change! You can’t live the same any more. You can’t pray the same any more. You can’t preach the same any more. You can’t give the same any more. That’s because we are in a new era. It’s going to cost you. It’s not going to cost you your best. It’s going to cost you everything. We are going to be looking for the original design Jesus had for ‘Ekklesia’. We should not be interested in anything else. We have had a battle in the past for the definition of the authority of scripture. This generation will battle for the meaning of ‘church’. It will override our embraced and entrenched ‘churchianity’ and exaggerated church-growth-ism. We have lost the meaning of marriage in this culture, because now ‘marriage’ can mean anything you want it to, so it doesn’t mean anything at all. In the same way, ‘church’ can mean anything and may mean nothing at all. So, we will restore ‘ekklesia’. We will restore the meaning that comes from the mind and the mouth of Jesus. We are not just going to talk about it. We’re going to live it!” (Don Lynch)1

You are Peter, and I can guarantee that on this rock I will build my church. And the gates of hell will not overpower it. “ (Matthew 16:18; GWT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship the Lord, Church!
  • Ask God to begin to give you a revelation of what He meant “Church” to be.
  • Humbly lay down all of your own thoughts and views of “Church”.
  • Let Holy Spirit show you if “church” has become idolatrous to you. Is it a building you serve at? Is it a set service you wouldn’t miss for anything?
  • Ask Jesus to reveal what He meant when He said, “Upon this rock I will build my ‘church’.”

A prayer you can pray:

God, I worship You! I fix my eyes on Jesus, my wonderful, beautiful, ever-loving and forgiving Savior. The One who has authored my faith start to finish! Holy Spirit, prepare my heart and teach me. What is church to You? I know what it is in my mind. (Tell Him what you think.) If what I think doesn’t line up with what You meant, change my thinking. If my affections are for something earthbound and not effective in the Spirit realm, change my heart. If “church” is a place I go to serve You, meet with You, or get my needs met, I repent. I am short-changing You. If I think I am a big someone in a small pool called ‘church”, I am missing Your destiny and the fullness of your calling for my life. Why would I want to limit You like this? Why do I have this propensity to box You up? Wow! Reveal “church” to me, in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church will prevail against the gates of hell!

Turning From Lawlessness to Awakening

“When President Trump was inaugurated, there was a firestorm of protest almost immediately. The behavior of the lawless crowd on the evening of the inauguration vandalized Washington, D.C. They threw rocks, bottles, and feces at law enforcement officers, swearing that they will not stop until Donald Trump has been brought down. The stage had been being set over a number of years. We have seen increasing lawlessness across the nation. We have seen lawlessness at the Supreme Court, which gave us Obergefell and same sex marriage. That decision was like poking the Creator in the eye. This increase of rebellion from the top to the bottom of our government, forebodes a very dark day. We, the Ekklesia, must intercede and vote and not allow the spread of this affront to God. We can’t allow our freedom to be destroyed and immorality to run amok. We need awakening, revival, and reformation in our nation.” (Pierre Bynum)1

O God, when you lead your people into battle, when you march through the desert, the earth shakes, yes, the heavens pour down rain before God, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel. O God, you cause abundant showers to fall on your chosen people.” (Psalm 68:7-9a; NET)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • As God brings revival to our land, may it come from the bottom up and the top down! Call it forth!
  • Intercede for God’s wave of revival to wash over every sphere of culture and especially civil government, which impacts every segment and subset of society.
  • Intercede for the day to come when we, like ancient Judah, come with fruits of repentance, as one man in solemn assembly to truly dedicate our nation back wholly to Him!

A prayer you can pray:

God, bring revival to the government of America from the top down and the bottom up! We call it forth, in Jesus’ name! Let Your tsunami of revival wash across America. Wash Washington. Wash over civil government. Wash over education, business, media, and the arts. Wash away the rebellion and lawlessness. Wash in an awakening and awareness of You and Your ways! We position ourselves in repentance for the sin of our nation. We intercede to dedicate our nation back to you. Jesus, we love You. We need You. Come to America! Amen.

Today’s decree:

We decree awakening, revival, and reformation of civil government!

Reflections on The Forward Conference

I feel we are launching into a “new era”. It will be one of the greatest opportunities in church history.

My reasons for this belief?

  1. For the first time in many centuries, the Church will be able to function in all of the five gifts and anointings Christ gave her—apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher (Ephesians 4:11). And as this important passage goes on to say, through these gifts we will be able to reveal “the fullness of Christ” (verse 13).
  2. Also, we have entered a season where Holy Spirit has restored to us the true meaning of ekklesia, the Church. A remnant of the body of Christ has come to understand that the ekklesia is Christ’s kingdom government on earth, entrusted with His authority, and commissioned to legislate His will. As such, these believers are no longer content to function only as “fellowships,” “congregations,” or “families.” They insist on also functioning as extenders of Christ’s Kingdom.
  3. And lastly, the Lord of the harvest has prepared the fields. Desperate conditions, despot rulers, and mass disillusionment have caused tribes and nations to become ripe for change.

The aligning of these three areas—Christ’s gifts, a revelation of His authority in the Church, and a prepared earth—is about to produce a critical mass, leading to explosive harvest and reformative change. We have truly entered into a new era! 1

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [a]edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank the Lord for the fresh revelation of Ephesians 4:11-13. Call forth the five-fold ministers. Call them together in teams throughout the nation!
  • Declare that the Church and those in the world will see the manifestation of the fullness of Christ as the five-fold starts to show forth the fullness of Christ’s nature.
  • Call forth the Ekklesia! Pray that Believers understand that they are the legislative Body of Christ in the earth, not just the petitioning priests.
  • Declare that the Ekklesia will be extenders of Christ’s Kingdom in America, and not just gathered fellowships.
  • Call forth the the Harvesters.
  • Declare that the nations of the earth will be transformed by the deluge of new souls coming to Christ in this new era!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we call forth the true apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. They will show forth the fullness of Christ as they team up together! The Body will be able to become fully mature! The Church shall be an Ekklesia, declaring and decreeing the will and purposes of God from the Word into the nation! Operating as an extender of Christ’s Kingdom in America, we will do far more than fellowship together. We will determine the future of the United States. Let the Harvesters come forth! We call them to reap the ready harvest. Wow, what an impact a harvest this large will have as these new Believers’ lives are transformed into Christ’s image. America will be transformed, by the power of the shed blood and resurrection of Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

A new era has begun in the Church!
