Impeachment Trial Begins

As you read today’s devotional, remember, as the Ekklesia, we can control the atmosphere and decree the way forward for our president and our nation. We must decree the things God wants and believe that His will for America in this hour will come to pass.

Last Thursday, the U. S. House of Representatives sent 2 Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for trial. Chief Justice John Roberts, who will preside over the trial, was sworn in, as were all of the U. S. Senators. They will serve as the jury in the trials.

President Trump is being accused of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress for pressuring Ukraine to investigate his political rivals and blocking the House from further investigating the scandal. The vote in the House was telling. It was solidly a partisan vote. 100% of Republicans voted against the Articles. They were joined by a few Democrats. The rest of the Democrats voted for the Articles, giving them the votes needed to pass them.

Today, they will pick up the trial in earnest, beginning with a vote on the rules that will govern the trial. That is likely to be contentious between the two major parties, especially where it comes to the calling of witnesses and the timing of the vote on the impeachment articles. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi , and other prominent Democrats in the House have been trying hard to control the process in the Senate. However, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is having none of it. He has outlined a firm boundary between the duties of the House to investigate, and the duties of the Senate to try the matter.

The House managers, or prosecutors, will be House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.), Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.) and Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas).

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:17; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • This is a somber day. Consider fasting and praying.
  • Decree over the proceedings today, “But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” (Amos 5:24; ESV)
  • Pray that President Trump will seek the Lord for His wisdom, His teaching in righteousness, and that he may walk in God’s truth. (Psalm 86:11). Pray that he will come to know the rest of God and let God fight his battles. (Exodus 14:14)
  • Declare Isaiah 54:17 above over President Trump.
  • Proclaim over every Senator and person involved in the process today: “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8; NASB)

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we humble ourselves before Your great and mighty Name today. We come to You in the name of Jesus. We are grieving over the state of our nation’s government. Never have we seen such animosity and division. There is so much hatred, and from that hatred there is a determination from some to remove President Trump from office whatever it takes. We honor the U. S. Constitution and ask that the Constitution will be followed and justice will be sought. Let the fear of the Lord fall in that Senate Chamber. Fall on each one present and let even the hardest of hearts understand the weight of these circumstances and of this moment in history. Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

This is not a time for jesting and laughing at a duly elected President’s expense. The nation is watching and the nation will act next November according to what they see and perceive. We pray that You would also guard the president’s words and actions, not just his opposition’s. May President Trump come to know You better in this moment. May he learn to trust in You completely, letting You fight his battles for him. He must find a way to walk in self-control, trusting You and the advisers You have given him, so that You may say over him, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me.” We proclaim Your Word over every Senator and House Manager, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” We declare these things in accordance with Your Word, Jesus, precious Word of God, amen.

Today’s decree:

Let the fear of the Lord be upon the impeachment trial for President Donald J. Trump.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Israel

“On my first plane ride to Israel, I gained God’s heart for that nation. I was flying to another city for a prayer meeting and sat next to an African American young lady who was flying to the same city but for a different purpose. She was going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding. As we began to talk, I sensed this was more than a chance encounter when she told me that her first name was Zion, and that her last name was Redie, pronounced ‘Ready.’ Her name was Zion Redie and she was flying to a wedding. Long story short, since then, I’ve been praying the scriptures from Isaiah 62:1-2, ‘For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet, until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, and her salvation like a torch that is burning. And the nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory.’ The passage later says, ‘And her land shall be called married….’

“Remembering this brought a renewed zeal in my heart to pray for Israel and for the Jewish people. During my trip to Israel, I learned that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other Christian African American leaders in the Civil Rights Movement enjoyed a love for Israel and had a great relationship with the Jewish community. There are reports that Dr. King actually visited Israel shortly before his assassination and was planning to bring 5,000 clergy from America for a speech on the Mount of Olives.

“Many don’t realize it, but there was a time, between 1954 and 1964, when the connection between the Jewish and African American communities was very close. Many called that season ‘The Golden Age’ of unity between our communities. For example, many Jewish scholars and rabbis were educators in historically black colleges and universities. Some even taught for free because they recognized our shared narrative of overcoming slavery and oppression. Jewish rabbis also put their compassion into action and marched with Dr. King during the Civil Rights Movement.  Famous Orthodox rabbi Abraham Heschel was one of those rabbis and said that as he marched with Dr. King, ‘It was as if my legs were praying.’” (William Ford, III)

“And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you,

And make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing;

And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse.

And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Gen. 12:2-3; NASB

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Intercede for the nation of Israel.
  • Bless the Jews with peace and prosperity.
  • Talk to the Lord about the revelation Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and William Ford, III, received for the African American community by watching His covenant relationship with Israel.
  • Intercede for the Jewish people worldwide. Ask God to reveal Jesus to them. He is the Messiah they long for.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, Israel is the apple of Your eye. Thank You for those like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Will Ford III, who have been leaders in reminding us of the covenant commitment You have with Israel and the land they are on. The fact that these men are African American is significant, as the people group they have come from has experienced some of the same things the Israelites have experienced. They have experienced a long season of slavery, yet kept their faith in You. They have been persecuted in foreign lands they were exiled to, yet they looked to You for comfort in the midst of their longing for their homeland. You sustained them.

Israel is a sign and a wonder. They are to be honored, as they show what it looks like when You make a promise. We can see that we can trust You when You make a promise. You are going to keep it. The way we act toward You may delay things, but it won’t stop You from fulfilling what You said. Dr. King knew that. He knew that Your “marriage” to Israel was the example needed in the Civil Rights Movement to see his own people set fully free. He knew they could not overcome without the hand of God involved, so he wanted his people to go to Israel, to link arms with the Jews, and to remember together the greatness of our God. The Jewish community responded and encouraged them, likewise. Is this not the Kingdom? Let our prayers rise before You for Christians and Jews of every color. Let Zion be made ready for the coming of the Bridegroom. Save and deliver, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

May America always love Israel just as the Lord does!

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

“On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22nd as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. (January 22, 1973, was the day the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states.) Churches around the United States now take a Sunday in January near this date to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protecting human life at every stage.”1

Today we celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday in America. President Reagan had this to say when he instituted this commemorative day:

“Reverence for human life and recognition of the sanctity of individual life are among the defining characteristics of a just civil order. The United States of America was founded by visionary people who believed, and said forthrightly, that the test of any just political system lay in whether it affirmed the unalienable rights endowed by God, rights that no civil authority was ever free to deny or contravene. In this context, it is no wonder then that the first right proclaimed by our Founders in the Declaration of Independence was that of life, and that the care of human life and happiness.

“Today our Nation, economically prosperous and at peace, bears a fresh, dark wound upon its conscience, a wound created by a stark deviation from the course of our national journey. Contrary to the purpose of law, to the character of medicine, to the habit of charity, and to the spirit of our founding, abortion has become routinized in America. No one can mistake abortion for the gentle art of healing. Each day in our land the promise of life is stolen from thousands of the unborn, the first flower of their unique existence crushed forever. But, as many philosophers have pointed out, the effects of such acts of violence are just as profound on those who perform them as on those who undergo them.

“We are a people who thirst after justice and will give our all to achieve it and defend it. Most particularly, we are a people who will not settle for a national policy that each year condemns 1.5 million [in 2020 it is more than 61 million] unborn children to an early death and consigns their mothers to exploitation and emptiness. We must and we will answer abortion with loving alternatives like adoption, and we will ensure that our laws preserve and protect the innocent unborn from destruction. Let us gather in homes and places of worship during this sixth annual observance of National Sanctity of Human Life Day to offer reparation for the appalling tragedy of abortion and to rededicate ourselves to works of charity and justice in behalf of America’s unborn children and their mothers.” (President Ronald Reagan, January 9, 1989) 2

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20a; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank the Lord that you live in a country with roots that honor life.
  • Ask the Lord to forgive this nation for opening the door to abortion enmasse through the Supreme Court decision, “Roe v. Wade”, in 1973.
  • Decide to be an abolitionist for the unborn in some way. It might be through intercession or through volunteer work at a local life center. You might provide diapers or other baby goods, or give financial gifts to life-giving organizations. You might provide support in some other way.
  • Here is a good list to help you. Intercede for some of the organizations on the front lines of the fight for life and the ending of abortion in America.
  • Pastors, if you are seeing this before church today, lead your congregation in a time of intercession for the ending of abortion in America during your services today.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, thank you for moving on the hearts of our founding fathers to establish our nation on principles that honor You. We have veered off the track a bit, and our decision to not honor life is one of those areas. We opened the door to sin and iniquity both in this nation and in others of the world. Forgive us, Father because we did not understand what we were doing. We want the door to abortion closed. We say, “We choose Life for the United States of America. We choose Life and that abundantly for all!” Our unborn are as important as our most vibrant millennial. They are our future and the hope of our nation. In them are portions of the nation You plan to build us into. How can we just cut them off with no remorse? God, forgive us and heal our land.

I want to be one that works to end abortion in my generation. I am an abortion abolitionist. I will pray and act to end abortion. I will cry out for justice before You and show compassion to those in conflict over it, gently leading them to truth and to You, Jesus. Show me what my part is. I will pray. Should I write letters to my legislators? Should I provide goods and donations to the pregnancy center in my city? What else would You have me do, Lord? Lead me in Your way and guide me, so this travesty can end quickly in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s decree:

We are a people who thirst after justice and will give our all to end abortion in this nation!

Tomorrow is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Tomorrow is the third Sunday in January, celebrated in many churches in America as the “Sanctity of Human Life Sunday”. Life Matters Worldwide provides many resources for Churches to assist us in setting tomorrow aside as a holy day of intercession for the ending of abortion in America.

God is a God who created life. He sustains life. He provides eternal life through the former work of His Son on the cross and in the power of His resurrection. His Holy Spirit today continues to draw people to Jesus, convicting them of sin. As we receive Christ, we enter that eternal life with Him. But, there is a devil, the arch-enemy of Jesus, who seeks to do all that he can to steal, kill and destroy lives so precious to God. Abortion is the number one killer of humanity worldwide. Why are we allowing this to continue?!

There is a way out. There is hope. There is a Savior! Jesus came that we might have life and that abundantly, from the womb until we take our final earthly breath. There are always answers, once we get past the fear Satan causes when we sin against God. There is adoption. There is support. There are kind people in churches across the country that aren’t filled with judgement, but compassion, because we remember that we have been sinners, also. Rise up, Church, and decide to be one who lovingly provides answers. There is so much we can do. Let the Church be the place these young moms, dads, and family members can find hope and a future. Christ will give us the grace to help in time of need when we ask Him.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Cry out for the unborn! Worldwide, we have now killed more than 61 million babies in the womb.
  • Pray for women today who are finding themselves pregnant and terrified of the consequences of their sin. Pray they find their way to those with God-answers.
  • Intercede for women whose hearts have been hardened and have become convinced that abortion is a normal part of women’s healthcare. Soften those hearts through intercession.
  • Ask the Lord to deliver our country from this heinous crime against humanity.
  • Go here and find materials to help your church pray tomorrow.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, our Lord, we cry out for the lives conceived in sin and hopelessness today. We have witnessed the killing of more than 61 million little, newly formed lives. How can we tolerate babies being ripped from the safety and security of their mothers wombs? What kind of society tolerates that? How is it that we are not protecting our most vulnerable with everything we have at our disposal. We are the richest nation on earth. We have money, time, creativity and rule of law. We have no excuse! Give America freedom from abortion. Set us free from this sin and death, Jesus. Change our hearts and change our laws. Give us lawmakers and judges that will choose and honor life.

Where there is fear in a woman and a man, a mom and a dad, and family members, intervene! Lead them to those filled with love and compassion. Lead them to those who know where answers can be found. Lead them to the cross and salvation through Jesus, most of all. Soften hard hearts. Penetrate minds that have been taught things against Your ways. Forgive the looking to earthly reputations and financial situations, instead of to Jesus, the Savior, Lover of our souls, and Provider of all things. You are God of the Breakthrough and the way maker. You are the Hope Giver. Jesus. Make us ready for powerful times of intercession for life tomorrow in our churches. Anoint our united cries and prayers for breakthrough. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We will end abortion in America in our generation!

Words With an Assignment

I love Isaiah 55:11, “So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” (NASB

The Message translation says, “My words will accomplish the assignment I gave them.” When He speaks something into the Earth, He says, “My words have assignments on them. They will accomplish what I have assigned them to do.” You need to be diligent over the next 4 months. There should not be a day that goes by that you are not decreeing something into the atmosphere over this nation. No word spoken by God through you will return to Him without having accomplished something in the earth.

Jesus didn’t just think, “Peace, be still,” to the storm. He didn’t just tell his frightened disciples, “The storm is going to be peaceful and still now.” He declared it, addressing the storm, because He knew spoken words have power. He didn’t say it because storms have ears and can hear. He said it because the power in Him needed to get out of His mouth! He said to the fig tree, “No one will ever eat from you again.” He said, “Lazarus come forth!” And, the assignment those words had accomplished what He said.

“So it is when I declare something. My word will go out and not return to Me empty, but it will do what I wanted; it will accomplish what I determined.” (Isaiah 55:11; VOICE)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • When you drive through your neighborhood, you need to be saying, “The Glory of God’s coming to my neighborhood!”
  • When you are out and about in your city, you need to be saying, “God’s about to pour out extraordinary miracles that are going to awaken my city and state and region and a nation.”
  • The way we are going to accomplish His Will is to let Him fill our mouths with His Words. Say, “Lord, help me open my mouth and decree what You are telling me to decree.”
  • Decree anything else He lays on your heart. Let His words on assignment flow through your mouth.

A prayer you can pray:

God, thank You for showing us that You speak through Your people. You don’t just speak things out of heaven today. You speak through Your people. This is the sword you talk about in Ephesians 6. It is Your Word spoken by us! Your Word is not a sword against the enemy until we say it. Thinking it doesn’t do anything to the devil. Help us get our mouths open and speaking out Your words, Lord! Put those words on assignment in our mouths, so we can get them out there creating Your purposes wherever You have destined them to go. Our minds will change as we speak Your words. Our families will change. Our cities will change. Our nation will change. It won’t be because we have faith. It will happen because that faith causes us to release words You have given us to declare, and we have done it.

We will say, “The Glory of God’s coming to my neighborhood!” We will proclaim, “God’s about to pour out extraordinary miracles that are going to awaken my city and state and region and a nation.” Fill our hearts and mouths with words and give us the faith to deliver them. You are saying that we will speak for You into the atmosphere of the nation and its going to do something. Our words on assignment are going to do more than make us feel good in a room full of intercessors. The words are going to go out into atmosphere and into the nation and cause things to topple and fall, and cause other things to rise up. Send them forth through us, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

God’s words spoken by faith through His people are words on assignment to effect miraculous change!

Limping or Leaping

I want to talk about a limp. In 1 Kings 18, Elijah assembled the people on Mount Carmel in what was to be an epic showdown between God and the false gods Israel was following at the time. Elijah says, “‘How long will you halt between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.’ But the people said nothing.” The word for “waver”, or “halt”, there is also the word for “limp”. It’s a word that means “to hop” or “to leap”. It is a good picture word for “hesitate”, because you kind of leap backward and forward mentally, and maybe even physically, while you try to decide something.  I like this definition—it’s the word for “Passover”. The spirit of death leapt over the homes with the blood of the lamb on the lintels of the doors.

The Lord was saying in 1 Kings 18, “Why are you hesitating about Who you believe in? You should be dancing the dance of rejoicing over the Passover. You should be remembering and dancing and singing, ‘The horse and the rider have been thrown into the sea!’ But, you are limping the limp of Baal.” Listen to me. We are in that same place in America. You need to get up and remember who you are and who He is and start to decree out of a place of rejoicing faith, no longer halting, but sure! You need to decree some things out of existence and decree some things into existence. You need to uproot some things and plant some things. You need to establish the root of His Glory! By Passover of this year, you are going to dance the dance of victory over your enemies!

“Elijah stepped forward before all the people and said, ‘How long are you going to jump back and forth between two positions? If Adonai is God, follow him; but if it’s Ba‘al, follow him!’ The people answered him not a word.” (1 Kings 18:21; CJB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Remember the times in your life when He has saved you.
  • Let praise rise up from you. Let your words of praise, such as, “The horse and the rider were thrown into the sea,” rise up from your lips.
  • What are the things you are contending for now? Decree and declare that God will come through for you!
  • Say over the impeachment drama, “President Trump will be delivered from any false attack of his enemies!”
  • Say over the situation in Iran, “The Iranian government will make right the downing of the Ukranian flight with 176 people on board.”
  • Declare, “This latest conflict will result in the Iranian people being set free to worship the Lord freely!” Christians have been worshipping underground and have been persecuted for their faith.
  • Say, “Iran will not attack the Iranian people demonstrating. Lord, set the Iranian people free!”

A prayer you can pray:

Father, You are able to take a terrible tragedy and make something beautiful out of it. You are the God of the turnaround. You are the one that turns death to life and darkness to light. We have a decision to make. We need to come to a deeper place of faith were we determine afresh that You are God and there is no other. Jesus, You are the Savior and there is no other way to the Father. No false gods of false religions ever deserves our worship. You are able to deliver. You are able to work huge, nation-changing miracles, just like You did for the Israelites when You sent Moses to set them free in Egypt. We won’t doubt it!

We are coming through a major tragedy in Iran. We were seemingly perched on the brink of World War III. However, the underground church cried out in Iran and Believers cried out in the U.S. and other places in the world, and You brought peace and calm into this ongoing tragedy. Lord, one of the awful things that happened was the downing of a Ukrainian jet with 176 men, women, and children on it. They were trying to flee the dangerous situation there and ended up victims, instead. Iran says they shot the jet down, but that it was an accidental and tragic mistake. This is a country led by those in a religious structure that demands retribution for such things. So, Lord, we are praying that Iran honors its ways and makes this right for the families that are suffering today.

This has also brought Iranians into the streets to protest the actions of their government. Many are not happy with their government’s response. Let their voices be heard and honored. Use this series of events to bring a freedom to the people of Iran. Set the Church there free to share the Gospel openly. We praise You and say, “You are God and worthy to be praised over this situation!”

Today’s decree:

We will not halt between two opinions. God is God and there is no other. He will deliver His people! He is our Deliverer!

The Decade of the Decree – Part 2

Let’s look at where God called Jeremiah as a prophet in Jeremiah 1:9-10:

“Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said, ‘Look, I have put my words in your mouth! Today I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdoms. Some you must uproot and tear down, destroy and overthrow. others you must build up and plant.’” God put His words in Jeremiah’s mouth. God’s words create. He put those creative words in Jeremiah’s mouth so he could decree them and they could go forth and create, perform, and accomplish things for Him.

He goes on in Jeremiah 1:12 and says, “That’s right. From this know that I am watching over My word until it is accomplished.” No word spoken by God is without power, and He has placed those words in His Ekklesia’s mouth to speak. So, here He is saying, “I am going to talk to My people in this nation through you, Jeremiah. Your words are going to make changes in this nation until I say it is finished!”

Are you getting this? His words in our mouth will go forth and DO what He has sent them to do. Some will remove some things. Some will create new things. New physical stuff, like salvation and healing, but also changes in hearts and minds, laws and curriculums. Do you see that?

“See, I am putting my words in your mouth. Today I have put you in charge of nations and kingdoms. You will pull up and tear down, destroy and overthrow, build up and plant.” (Jeremiah 1:9b and 10; NCV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • What is God is saying to you? Maybe it is, “I have appointed you over your family.” “I have appointed you over your neighborhood.” “I have appointed you over your child’s school.” “I have appointed you over your city (or county or state).” “I have appointed you over this nation.” Maybe it is an assignment over something else, like lost souls, occult structures, homelessness, trafficking, hunger, or racism. You will know. Whatever it is, accept the assignment.
  • Be encouraged! Rejoice! He will fill your mouth with His words.
  • Say, “God, Your words create! Your words root out, tear down, build, and plant. Your words heal and deliver and transform. Fill my mouth with Your words.”
  • Find one thing out of order in the nation’s government. Ask God for a Word to decree into that situation.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, You are giving Your Church a deeper understanding of the concept of speaking Your creative words into the earth. In this year of the decree, we are learning something more about the power of partnering with You to receive Your Words and decree them into the earth, so You can create what You need to. So many dreams of Yours will come to pass. So many people will be set free, saved, healed, and delivered. Your Church is going to be on the move. We are going to have to go out and see and decree.

We are going to look at things differently. We are going to look at things in the government and know we are anointed as the Ekklesia of God to speak against the powers of darkness and what some are doing there. We will not speak against people, but against what the enemy is doing to prevent Your purposes from coming to pass. Government is not going to shift on its own. We can’t look to government to just make itself right. We are Your government in the earth. Put Your words in our mouths, so we can speak into the atmosphere and shift the atmosphere. We will see things in the earth respond to Your words released by Your Ekklesia. You will be watching. You watch over your Word to asah with it. You will cause it to DO your will. Let the new created things come forth in Jesus’ creative Name! Amen.

Today’s decree:

Government will shift by the creative Word of the Lord in the mouth of God’s people.

The Decade of the Decree – Part 1

Back in the 1990’s we didn’t operate in declarations and decrees. We just offered up petitions. Around 2000, He said to me, “You will fully shift this nation when the Church shifts their mindset from priestly intercession only to kingly intercession, also.” We have come into the decade of the decree. God says we are going to decree things like we have never decreed before.

There is a Word in Hebrew that the Lord has emphasized for me. It is a word used in three familiar verses having to do with decrees. It’s “asah”. Let’s look at it in Numbers 23:19.

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (NASB) The word “do” here is “asah”. It means, among other things, “to create”. His words create. When He speaks, power is released to bring forth something, sometimes out of nothing. This is the way we bind and loose, forbid and allow. He tells us what He wants in His Word through prophetic intercession. Then, we say what He says.

There was a teaching about “confession” that was in error. The error was that those adhering to it thought they could say anything they wanted to and God had to do it. They thought God had to back up all of their declarations. That’s not biblical. Biblical confession is to say what He says. That’s what the word means, “to say the same thing”. When you say what He says, then power is released from you and God says, “I’ll create with those words. You decree a thing and it will be established.”

“By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.” (Proverbs 8:15; KJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Believe and say, “God watches over His Word to perform it.”
  • Say, “His Word”, again.
  • Repent if you have thought you could say anything you felt was right. Repent for saying things that were not God’s will, but your own. He knows you didn’t understand. Rejoice, because now, you do!
  • Worship for a while. Sit at His feet in humble adoration. As you do, ask Him if there is anything He would like you to declare and decree. Maybe He will begin to speak to you things that are on His heart that He wants you to speak out for Him.

A prayer you can pray:

God, we haven’t understood the way that You wanted to partner with us. You had a plan to uproot, pluck up, overthrow, but we didn’t get it quite right. In past seasons, we thought we could just say what we wanted. We thought we could just have an opinion and say something to change it. We became very frustrated when our prayers were having no effect. We even became selfish at times with some of what we declared. Forgive us. Let us worship You today. You are worthy of our worship, always. Correct our understanding, even as You forgive us our sin of presumption. If there is something on Your heart that You would like us to know, then Lord, speak it to us. Give us Your viewpoint, Your revelation, and Your Words to decree. The earth is going to be changed in this season. Culture is going to shake and shift. Multitudes of new believers in all sectors of society are going to make the nation different. People will change. Media will change. Laws will change. Dark is getting darker and light is getting lighter. We want to be different. We want to be holy and set apart for You. We want to be those that are filled with faith and carry out Your will. Jesus, precious Jesus, we want to honor Your Name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

May God’s decrees for this time be released by the holy Ekklesia of God!

Getting the Terminology Correct

All the way back in 1986 God sent a prophet to tell me, “You will be a part of the fresh age of the Melchizedek order.” I didn’t know what that meant and neither did the prophet that delivered the Word. As I studied it out, the Lord showed me that Melchizedek was both a king and a priest. He was a type of Christ, of course, who is both the King and the Priest. Then, He says to us that we are a kingdom of priests, and we are a royal priesthood.

The priestly anointing is vertical. We offer up worship and requests before the Lord. It is the Church being the Bride. In the kingly anointing, we operate horizontally and we decree. The kingly anointing is the Ekklesia being God’s legislative body in the earth.

Ekklesia is a governmental term. When God said He would build His Church, He wasn’t talking about a building, an organization, or a congregation of Believers. Words like fellowship, family, body of Believers, are not synonymous with Church. For example, my wife is the administrator of our ministry. She is a mother, grandmother, friend, and sister in the Lord to me. However, if I introduced her to you as my administrator, life would be very uncomfortable for me for a while. Even though she is both my wife and my administrator, they don’t mean the same thing.

So, even though we are the Bride of Christ and the family of God, that was not what Jesus was talking about when He said, “I will build My Church.” He said, “I will build my legislature. My Kingdom will have a government on earth. I will give My government keys—the keys to My Kingdom authority. With them, My Ekklesia will have the ability to bind and loose (legal terms.) And the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”

We have not done that very well in the past, but the Ekklesia is coming into a greater and greater understanding that we do have more authority than the powers of darkness. We have more authority than principalities. We can decree as God’s royal priests and kings.

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Let the revelation of the devotional today sink in deep. If the revelation is not new, just let it be a reminder of who you are.
  • Pray for the Church to understand what it means to be the Church, the Ekklesia, the legislative Body of Christ in the earth.
  • Intercede for the Ekklesia to prepare for a verbal warfare that declares and decrees the will and purposes of God into the earth.
  • Begin to get your decrees ready. Gather your scriptures. Write them down. Then, speak them out at the moments He shows you.
  • Pastors, teach your Church how to be the Ekklesia. Practice this by releasing them to make decrees during your worship services.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we are privileged to be Your priests and kings in Your eternal Kingdom. We may not fully understand what that means, but we do see that there is a role we have not been fully walking in. This role of authority is foreign to us. It is revealed by Your Spirit to ours. So, Holy Spirit, help us comprehend how the Father wants us to work with Him to decree His will into the earth. Let this revelation spread and spread, to many churches and denominations and other groups of Christians. We want to be a mighty spiritual army in the earth. We do not want to give the enemy ground that is not his to have forever. Let this ancient foe see that the people of God see his wily ways and we are learning to stop him in his tracks. Lord, give us Your assignments. Give us Your scriptures. Make us confident to speak Your Words into the earth, so You can form them into miracles, signs, wonders, and new life. Let our pastors make room in the times we gather together for the Body to be the Ekklesia. Train us all, across many denominations and streams. But, don’t let it stop there! We will go forth with the Word of God in our mouths to the places of influence You have called us to and shift that, too, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Ekklesia, the Church, will prevail against hell’s attack in the earth!

The Judah Tribe

“The Judah tribe was that tribe that knew how to use sound to display God’s Kingdom plan. That’s who we are. There is a sound that will shift things. God has a people carrying Kingdom authority who know how to legislate as they move. These know how to make a sound that legislates.

“We are going to command new openings this year. The Lord is raising up those from territory to territory to command new openings. When we do this and the sound of our command comes up, or when we agree with the sound that He is sending down, a new opening will come into the atmosphere for the Lord to move. Therefore, we are coming into a new movement.

“A new sound must come forth in this nation now. Worship will be critical to defeating the dragon spirit that I have been telling you about. Worship has to come into a new dimension. Your sound will make a new pathway, confuse the enemy, and align things properly with God’s plans where you are.” (Chuck Pierce)

“You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.” (Job 22:28; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Open the Word of God and read it aloud, or just read the scripture above out loud. It is time to get used to the sound of your voice.
  • Say, again aloud, “I will declare a thing and it will be established by the Lord for me; so that light will shine on my way and I can see my way forward.”
  • Declare, “The Church will get ahold of the scriptures to use now as the sword of the Lord in this era. We will declare these things and they will be established for us; so shall light shine on our ways. Our path forward will be made clear.”
  • If there is any other sound you feel led to make, then do it now. It could be a shout or a song or a blast on a shofar. Go ahead and let your sound be heard.
  • What is being opened as you make your sound?
  • Intercede for the Ekklesia to be bold in legislating in the heavens this year.

A prayer you can pray:

God, You created all things by speaking them into existence. In fact, this is one of the first things You ever tell us about Yourself in Your Word. You spoke and the world came into existence, one thing at a time. Perfect order and perfect plan. How have we missed how important sound is? Religion would hush us up, quiet us down. The political spirit seeks to shut us up, shame us into compliance. No! We will ask You for the right words at the right time and speak them forth. We will agree with Job 22:28, and say aloud, “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.” We declare it now, individually, “I will declare a thing and it will be established by the Lord for me; so that light will shine on my way and I can see my way forward.” We decree it prophetically over Your Church, “The Church will get a hold of the scriptures to use now as the sword of the Lord in this era. We will declare these things and they will be established for us; so shall light shine on our ways. Our path forward will be made clear.” Kingdom of God, come! Will of God, be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Open the heavens over our families. Open Your pathways for our nation. As our sound rises up, open the heavens and come down and meet us in a Divine way. We decree the season of Acts is here. We will see miracles, all pointing the way to You, dear Jesus. I will sing, praise, worship, shout, and make any other sound You fill my heart with. Let the heavens open and the manifestations of glory begin. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We are finding God’s new opening and aligning sound now!
