Living in the Spirit in Everyday Life

There are prophetic gifts in the earth realm right now that are stifled. They are buried by fear. God says, “You are going to have to break out of that fear, and allow me to start using you prophetically.” The Lord wants to start releasing this outside the walls of the church.

He is going to move us into the realm where we are healing the sick on Monday. In fact, a year from now, if you are not seeing miracles take place on Monday through Saturday, you are behind schedule. We are moving into a season where He is tired of being limited to Sunday morning, or a conference. He’s ready to start moving in the supermarkets and the business place, and in the backyard, and in the school buildings. He is tired of being confined. The Kingdom of God is not limited to any building, or on Sunday morning from 10-noon.

God is ready to break out everywhere!

Peter’s shadow couldn’t show up until they moved outside the building. Peter had to be outside in the streets, in the sun. The man at the Gate Beautiful wasn’t healed in a service. He was healed on a street corner. Jesus did most of His miracles outside where the people were. Get out there!

“As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by.” (Acts 5:15; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Hear the Lord say to you, specifically, “You are going to have to break out of that fear, and allow me to start using you prophetically.”
  • Let any fear that you have fall away as you let that Word penetrate your spirit.
  • Meditate on Acts 5:15.
  • If you have the time, read all of Acts 3 and 4 and allow the Holy Spirit to increase your faith. Notice the miracles that took place, and where they took place. Notice the effect on the growth of the Church.
  • Think about the many places you go in a day. Ask the Lord to move prophetically through you in those places.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I hear You saying, “You are going to have to break out of that fear, and allow me to start using you prophetically.” Your words are reverberating in my spirit man. I know this is the truth. This is the time. I have hidden my gifts in my heart or used them in a safe place inside the walls of the church. I cannot do that any more. Too many need to see You. Too many souls must be saved. As I read chapters 3 through 5 of the Book of Acts, I see that miracle followed miracle and almost none were performed inside the walls of a synagogue. They were done where the people were. The lame man sat for his whole life in a place where everyone could see his need, but none could help him. You used that man’s impossible and hopeless situation to start a major expansion of the Church and the Kingdom. Lord, I want that now! I want to be a part of that kind of a move of God in my generation! This is that generation where we will once again prophesy, heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons, all in the marketplace. We will not hesitate to speak and act everywhere we go. Nowhere can be considered improper for the movement of the Holy Spirit, if it means the salvation of souls. Our places of employment, the halls of our schools, in government offices, at Starbucks, and fast food restaurants, Jesus will be found at work through us. We will express You at football games and theme parks and gas stations. Wherever people are found, we will look for opportunities to be Your hands and Your mouthpiece. Lead us to them, Jesus. Fill our hearts with compassion and our mouths with Your words. Amen.

Today’s decree:

God is ready to break out everywhere through His people!

Moving in a Prophetic Era

Pastors and teachers, you’re going to need to teach from the River. You are going to have to dare to move out of your notes. The Lord has been trying to stir up a prophetic anointing in some of you for a while. He’s been trying to stretch you. When you get up to speak, you’re feeling the urge to start prophesying, but you’re afraid to make that leap. If you will make that leap, some of you are going to start prophesying 20 and 30 and 40 minutes or an hour. God’s going to start opening up windows of heaven to you. You’re going to get words of knowledge and that’s going to release the power gifts of miracles and signs and wonders.

But, the Lord is saying to you, “I am not going to release the miracles, signs, and wonders, until you let Me break you out of the fear of moving into the prophetic realm. Those gifts flow out of the prophetic realm. They don’t flow out of the “order” realm. Order positions you for it, but the prophetic realm of revelation moves you into the power gifts.

God says, “I want to start moving you into those things, but you are going to have to take a leap of faith and open your heart to revelation.”

“But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” (Acts 2:16-21; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Proclaim the prophecy of Joel as related in Acts 2:16-21 or Joel 2:28-32 into the earth.
  • Declare, “It is time for the release of the fullness of the prophetic declaration into the earth.”
  • Ask God for a greater measure of faith to prophecy, for the Word says we prophecy according to our faith. Determine to prophesy your prayers.
  • Say, “I want to start moving with You into greater prophetic declaration and proclamation of things, but I am going to have to take a leap of faith. Open my heart to revelation, Lord.”
  • Intercede for the leaders in the Body of Christ to begin to prophesy their messages.
  • Pray for the hearts of the people to hear and embrace and act upon the Word of the Lord.

A prayer you can pray:

God, through the prophet Joel, and repeated in the Book of Acts at the birth of the Church, You declared, “I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” We declare in response, “It is time for the release of the fullness of the prophetic declaration into the earth.” Teach us to open our mouths in this era and prophesy. We shall prophesy our prayers and our sermons. We shall prophesy over our families, our cities, and our nation. We shall seek You for Your Words and declare them. We want to start moving with You into greater prophetic declaration and proclamation of things, but we are going to have to take a leap of faith. Open our hearts to revelation, Lord. Help the Body of Christ to move into this prophetic era. Let us hear You clearly, proclaim Your Word, and act on it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

It is the day the Lord shall cause His people to prophesy!

Asking for Wisdom and Revelation Together

There’s a Hebrew word coming to me frequently as I am studying out the Lord releasing more wisdom and revelation to the apostolic and prophetic in this hour. It is the Hebrew word “biyn”. It is a word that comprises both wisdom and revelation in one word. Daniel walked in this. Solomon asked for and was gifted with this. Joshua had this. The sons of Issachar moved in this. They knew what time it was—revelation, so they knew what to do—wisdom. They functioned in both of these things.

When Solomon asked for this, he didn’t use the word that just means understanding, which is the way we think of wisdom. He used the word that means wisdom and revelation. He said, “If I am going to rule this nation, I need to hear from You, Lord. Give me a hearing ear and a hearing heart, and then show me how to apply this.” So, he asked for both of these things.

This is what the Holy Spirit does for us. We are supposed to listen for Him and hear Him quickly, and tune into what He is saying on a daily basis. You are not just supposed to hear from Holy Spirit at a conference. You are not just supposed to hear in a church service. You are not just supposed to hear in your devotion or quiet time in the morning. You are supposed to hear from Him throughout the day. You’re supposed to take Him with you and commune with Him and listen to Him. He wants to talk to you on the job. He wants to say to you things like, “Don’t do that. Go over here and invest and I’ll give you a breakthrough.” He wants to flow through us as we function.

“‘Now, O Lord my God, you have made me king instead of my father, David, but I am like a little child who doesn’t know his way around. And here I am in the midst of your own chosen people, a nation so great and numerous they cannot be counted! Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?’ The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom.” (1 Kings 3:7-10; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Do not be afraid to ask the Lord, as Solomon did, for ‘biyn”, the spirit of wisdom and revelation operating together. It pleases the Lord when we have the faith to ask Him for things like this.
  • Break off any limitations you feel as far as where and when you can operate in the gifts the Lord has given you.
  • You may be one that has limited your time of communing with God to a specific time and/or place. Let Him know that you want to walk and talk with Him all through your day. Ask for a grace to turn your heart and thoughts toward Him throughout your day.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord my God, you have made me (insert your role or profession), but I am like a little child who doesn’t know his way around. And here I am in the midst of precious people that You care very much about. I want to share Your plan to give them life and that abundantly. Give me a hearing ear and a hearing heart, and then show me how to apply this in my situation, so others can see You, Jesus, in and through my life. I love the time I have set aside to pray and read your Word. I love to go to church and worship You. But, I realize today that I need to walk and talk with You. I want to learn to commune with You as I go about my daily life. I don’t want to relegate you any longer to a specific place and time in my life. You are my life! You are my greatest friend. You are the one who made me and knows me best, even better than I know my own self. Lead me and guide me, Holy Spirit, in the spirit of wisdom and revelation. Show me what I need to know for myself and those around me. Reveal to me how to carry that out in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We are in a movement of intimacy with God where the saints are filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.

The Release of Wisdom and Revelation

There is a command of Paul to be filled with the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. Revelation lets us know what to do. Wisdom lets us know how to do it. We take the wisdom from yesterday and apply it to today’s Word. We have to have and move in both. I believe we are going to find ourselves in situations in the coming year where we’re going to hear Him say something to us that will be a reminder of something we have heard Him say to us in the past. It will be something He said in the past, but it is for now. We are going to have to very quickly go back through the files of His Words in our memories. Then, we are going to say, “Now, Lord, show me how to do what You are saying.”

We are moving into one of the most significant “we’ve never been this way before” seasons of our lifetimes. We are going to have to daily do the dance of moving between wisdom and revelation, “What are You saying? How do I do it? What are You showing me? How do I apply that to my life, to this ministry, to this city, to this nation, to this situation, to this circumstance?” We are going to have to move in this to a higher level than we ever have before.

To me, it is one of the ways of expressing the apostolic and prophetic anointings. The apostolic is the wisdom and the prophetic is the revelation. These two things work hand in hand. We are going to have to go to a whole new level of walking in the prophetic and apostolic, wisdom and revelation, anointings. As we do that, we are going to be equipped fully to bring the Kingdom influence that He wants to bring into our regions. We will know what He is saying, and we will have the wisdom to apply it, and know how to build His kingdom correctly in that area.

“He has made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to bring all things in heaven and on earth together in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:9-10; BSB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Have an expectancy for the outpouring of the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
  • Begin to remind yourself of any Words you have received that have not yet come to pass. You may have forgotten them and now need the Lord to remind you of them.
  • Petition the Lord for an outpouring of the spirit of wisdom and revelation, especially in the knowledge of Him.
  • Ask Him to reveal to you what He is doing and saying, and what you are to do with that information.
  • Specifically ask the Lord to make known to you the mystery of His plan to bring all things together in heaven and earth in Christ.
  • Say, “I want to help build and advance Your Kingdom plan in my area of influence—in my neighborhood, on my job, in my city, in my region.” If you have a statewide call, a national call, and/or an international call, add that.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I am stirring up an expectancy today to line up with what the prophets are saying. It is time for a fresh outpouring of Your spirit of wisdom and revelation. I must know what You have said to me that has been waiting for now. Remind me of them and show me what to do with them. Take me back to Your written Word and make it come alive again. Reveal to me what You are saying now. How do I do it? What are You showing me? How do I apply that to my life, to my ministry, to this city, to this nation, to this situation, to this circumstance? How will the apostolic and prophetic connect to advance Your Kingdom? How do heaven and earth work together to make Christ known? How do You want the Kingdom to advance in this era? I want to help build and advance Your Kingdom plan in my area of influence—in my neighborhood, on my job, in my city, in my region. Connect me where you need to. Align me where I am needed. Give me the gifts I need, the wisdom I need, and the revelation I need. To You be the Glory, Jesus! It is time! Amen.

Today’s decree:

God is releasing His wisdom and revelation to the apostolic and prophetic anointings, so His Kingdom can be built correctly and quickly in this nation!

Being Filled With the Holy Spirit

In Ephesians 5:18, the Lord tells us to be filled with the Holy Spirit. First, it’s not a suggestion. It’s a commandment. Secondly, it’s not a one-time thing. We preach an experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit, but it’s not a one-time thing. The literal translation would be, “Be filled and keep on being filled.” In fact, it wouldn’t be an accurate translation to translate the verse, “Stay filled with the Spirit.” Even though that’s the goal, that’s not how it works. You can’t get filled and just stay filled. You have to keep on being filled.

I believe it was Dwight Moody, one of the great evangelists in history, who said, “I have to keep being filled over and over again, because I leak.” I think a good way to think of this is to realize that God never expected you to experience this once. He expected us to experience on a daily basis the Wind of God filling us again. The river, the breath, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, day by day by day, was the expectation. You stay filled by being filled over and over and over again. It is a continuous process.

So, He is coming to fill us again and again and again. As He does, the wineskin stays fresh and the wine stays new and you always have plenty to give as you are filled and refilled and refilled and refilled.

“Do not get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Repent of any known sin in your life. Repent if you have held the Holy Spirit at arms length at all due to disappointment or doubt and unbelief.
  • Has your love grown cold, your prayer life become brief, or your faith limited? You need a refreshing of the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
  • Ask the Lord to fill you afresh with His Holy Spirit today.
  • Many in the Church do not believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Pray that their eyes are open to the truth and necessity of this verse.
  • Pray that the Church plans to share the baptism with the Holy Spirit with every new convert and that we are comfortable doing so.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, I come before You today knowing that I am a sinful person. I know that my sins were all washed away by the shed blood of Your Son, Jesus, on the day I received Him as my Savior and Lord. Yet, I know that when I continue to open my life to sin without repentance, I deny the work of the Holy Spirit to sanctify me. I must be filled again with Your Spirit. I must have the guilt and condemnation, the ensuing doubt and unbelief removed from my mind and my heart. I must come close to You again and walk without hinderance in Your power. I must hear the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit clearly. I want to display Your Glory to those without You. So fill me again that I may make You known in the earth. Lord, let my brothers and sisters in Christ know of the fullness of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We can be saved with that measure of the Holy Spirit given at salvation, but to walk in increasing relationship with You, we must have increasing measures of Your Spirit. Let us not limit You! Let us welcome all of You! Holy Spirit, fill us full to overflowing in the power and Glory of the Lord. Let the world be able to see Christ in us. Let us work the works that Jesus did, and greater, as He promised. Let us be fully convinced and comfortable ministering the baptism of the Holy Spirit and power to brand new born-again believers. What a powerful Church the world will see! Such is Your Kingdom, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

It is time for the Church to be filled anew with the Holy Spirit!

Update on the Impeachment Hearings

“We are now three weeks into wall-to-wall coverage of House Democrats’ impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

“On the one hand, this is a historic moment – even if historically outrageous – and you may feel compelled to pay close attention. On the other hand, you may be sickened by the political posturing and the seemingly predetermined outcome. You would have sizable company either way. I am one of those closely tracking the impeachment proceedings. I think it is shameful and damaging to our country, but I want to know what is happening and I want to pray through it. In case you are not so glued to the play-by-play, allow me to summarize.

“Over the last three weeks, the House Intelligence Committee has held public hearings featuring the testimony of foreign policy officials. At issue is whether or not President Trump directly conditioned about $400 million in American military aid to Ukraine as an exchange for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky investigating the business dealings of former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s son. In other words, Democrats are attempting to establish a narrative that Trump is guilty of bribery.

“Even if this is all just political posturing, I do not believe the outcome is actually predetermined. There is a battle going on here, but it is not simply Republican versus Democrat. It is not just about the 2020 election. There is an ongoing spiritual battle between light and darkness in America, and the heart and soul of our nation hangs in the balance. God is using the Trump administration to do much good at home and abroad. This president is arguably the most pro-life, pro-religious freedom, and pro-Israel president we have ever had. Now look at how he is being attacked—through lies and distortions. Specifically, look at this impeachment proceeding. May God have mercy on us and help us. May He elevate those who truly seek truth and justice.”

“Justice is a joy to the godly, but it terrifies evildoers.” (Proverbs 21:15; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer (by Dave Kubal):

  • Pray for truth to prevail in this contentious time, not distortions and leaks.
  • Pray for peace and harmony in our nation. This impeachment crusade is doing harm, not good. It is only feeding impulses of anger and discord.
  • Intercede for the spiritual powers of peace, hope, joy, and love to overcome powers of rancor and destructive division plaguing our homeland.
  • Pray that Christians would wake up and see that there is a spiritual battle for the heart and soul of the nation.
  • Ask the Lord to intervene, to determine what justice is in this situation, and to set things in order in America.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we appeal to heaven for Your justice in the matter of the impeachment hearings of President Donald J. Trump. We intervene and intercede between what is and ought to be. Lord, our justice system is set up such that a person is considered innocent until proven guilty, but in this case, the president is being tried as if he is guilty and has to prove his innocence. Indeed, one legislator even made that comment! We ask for truth and justice to replace innuendo and rumor. We also ask You to heal the things that divide us. Only a move of God can. When a famous media personality like Bill Maher stresses his concern that America is so divided he fears another civil war, then we must have Your help! Give us Your supernatural peace, hope, joy, and love to overcome powers of rancor and destructive division plaguing our homeland. Wake the Church up fully! We have come a long way, but not all are paying attention yet. We must have our eyes open to the spiritual battle that is taking place for the soul of America. Intervene, Jesus. Determine this case. Show us what justice looks like in this matter. Set things in order in America! Amen.

Today’s decree:

God Himself will bring justice to the impeachment proceedings. He alone will determine the outcome!

A Long History of a Strong U. S. Presidency

“In this partisan age, we should take special care not to allow the passions of the moment to cause us to permanently disfigure the genius of our Constitutional structure. As we look back over the sweep of American history, it has been the American Presidency that has best fulfilled the vision of the Founders.  It has brought to our Republic a dynamism and effectiveness that other democracies have lacked.

“At every critical juncture where the country has faced a great challenge –

          – whether it be in our earliest years as the weak, nascent country combating regional rebellions, and maneuvering for survival in a world of far stronger nations;

          – whether it be during our period of continental expansion, with the Louisiana Purchase, and the acquisition of Mexican territory;

          – whether it be the Civil War, the epic test of the Nation;

          – World War II and the struggle against Fascism;

          – the Cold War and the challenge of Communism;

          – the struggle against racial discrimination;

          – and most recently, the fight against Islamist Fascism and international terrorism.

“One would have to say that it has been the Presidency that has stepped to the fore and provided the leadership, consistency, energy and perseverance that allowed us to surmount the challenge and brought us success.

“In so many areas, it is critical to our Nation’s future that we restore and preserve in their full vigor our Founding principles.  Not the least of these is the Framers’ vision of a strong, independent Executive, chosen by the country as a whole.”

“When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.” (Proverbs 29:2; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship God over this nation.
  • Thank Him yet again for the miracle that is the United States of America, this land that we love.
  • Thank Him for providing its beauty, its strength, its prosperity, and the absolute miracle of its existence for almost 245 years!
  • Thank Him for giving us a form of government that allows the citizens to have a voice in government affairs.
  • Thank Him for a strong and bold President that has preserved and advanced our freedoms of life, liberty, religion, security, and pursuit of prosperity.
  • Thank Him for all of the freedoms we enjoy.
  • Thank Him that our children have the opportunity today to continue to enjoy those freedoms, if we humble ourselves, turn from our sinful ways, and pray.
  • Worship Him!

A prayer you can pray:

Gracious heavenly Father, we worship and adore You. There is none other like You in all the universe. You alone are worthy of our worship and our adoration. To You belongs all of the Glory. We are so thankful for this country You established in covenant with Your people, the United States of America. Regardless of our family’s background and how we came to be here, we have made America home. It is a profound miracle. For 245 years this nation has expanded and prospered despite many hardships and challenges, because the people of this land have primarily sought Your face and acknowledged You along the way. Most of our presidents and other governmental leaders honored You with their words, if not with their hearts, and led our nation in honoring You, as well. You gave us the ability to elect our leaders. The entire voting populace of the nation gets to choose our President. You then guided them on our behalf, giving them wisdom to lead us to becoming a strong nation. Thank You for President Trump who is fighting hard to preserve and advance  our freedoms of life, liberty, religion, security, and pursuit of prosperity. We thank You for these and every other freedom we enjoy. We thank You that You will solidify these freedoms for the generation to come, Jesus. You are so good to us and we want our children and grandchildren to be able to honor You freely in every aspect of their life in America, too. Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Lord has brought America this far; He will preserve the Republic as we humble ourselves and pray!

The Supreme Court As a Referee

“The Framers did not envision that the Courts would play the role of arbiter of turf disputes between the political branches. By giving the Congress and the Presidency the tools to fend off the encroachments of the others, the Framers believed this would force compromise and political accommodation. As Justice Scalia observed, the Constitution gives Congress and the President many ‘clubs with which to beat’ each other. Conspicuously absent from the list is running to the courts to resolve their disputes.

“That omission makes sense.  When the Judiciary purports to pronounce a conclusive resolution to constitutional disputes between the other two branches, it does not act as a co-equal. And, if the political branches believe the courts will resolve their constitutional disputes, they have no incentive to debate their differences through the democratic process — with input from and accountability to the people. The long experience of our country is that the political branches can work out their constitutional differences without resort to the courts.

“In any event, the prospect that courts can meaningfully resolve inter-branch disputes about the meaning of the Constitution is mostly a false promise.  How is a court supposed to decide, for example, whether Congress’s power to collect information in pursuit of its legislative function overrides the President’s power to receive confidential advice in pursuit of his executive function?

“It was once well recognized that such matters were largely unreviewable and that the courts should not be substituting their judgments for the prudential judgments reached by the accountable Executive officials. This outlook now seems to have gone by the boards. Courts are now willing, under the banner of judicial review, to substitute their judgment for the President’s on matters that only a few decades ago would have been unimaginable – such as matters involving national security or foreign affairs.” (Attorney General Bill Barr)

“Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Intercede for the proper role of the U. S. Supreme Court as it relates to involvement in disputes between the Executive and Legislative branches.
  • Pray that the Executive and Legislative branches can work out their differences without resorting to the courts.
  • The Word of God outlines how people should work together. The branches of government are comprised of individuals. Beginning with the Believers in those branches, pray that the guidelines of conflict resolution in the Bible would be followed by our governing leaders.
  • Pray that the courts would not substitute their judgements in place of those of the President and others in the Executive division, especially regarding national security and foreign affairs, if the leaders in the Executive branch are following their constitutionally-bestowed authority.
  • Call for the fear of the Lord to manifest His power and presence among our Christian government leaders. The Bible says in Exodus 14:31 (ISV), “When Israel saw the great force by which the Lord had acted against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed the Lord and Moses his servant.”

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, Attorney General Bill Barr has given us much to consider in his excellent speech. He is clearly a student of the U. S. Constitution and has a good grasp of the intent of the originators of it. It’s amazing that people today have come to expect that the Executive and Legislative branches will utilize the courts to work out their disputes. So much so, that it is the most common course. The political parties are so divided that the President and others in the Executive branch get stuck trying to act. They are consistently challenged on everything they do. They cannot act on behalf of the nation without conflict from the Legislative branch. So, something always ends up headed to the Court for a decision. This is power given to the Supreme Court that the founders never intended! It’s frightening to put all of these decisions in the hands of 9 Justices. It removes power from the people. So, we call the branches back to the original intent stated in the U.S. Constitution. Let the Executive and Legislative work out their differences in humility and the fear of the Lord, humbly compromising and giving room for political and ideological differences. Let Believers, especially, take heed to the Word of God and walk in the fear of the Lord. Your Word says, “When Israel saw the great force by which the Lord had acted against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed the Lord and Moses his servant.” We are not to be weak and complacent in fearing You, but strong and confident, knowing You, our God, is with us. You fight for righteousness, justice, and truth together with us! You can put them all on their knees, Jesus. You can require them to work out their disputes. Let the courts get out of the way and let our leaders be forced to the table of brotherhood on behalf of the American people. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Let the Executive and Legislative branches work things out between themselves. Let the Courts limit themselves to their constitutional duties.

Checks and Balances on the Presidency

“We all understand that the Framers expected that the three branches would be jostling and jousting with each other, as each threatened to encroach on the prerogatives of the others. They thought this was not only natural, but salutary, and they provisioned each branch with the wherewithal to fight and to defend itself in these inter-branch struggles for power. When these disputes arise, I think there are two aspects of contemporary thought that tend to operate to the disadvantage of the Executive.

“The first is the notion that politics in a free republic is all about the Legislative and Judicial branches protecting liberty by imposing restrictions on the Executive. The premise is that the greatest danger of government becoming oppressive arises from the prospect of Executive excess. So, there is a knee-jerk tendency to see the Legislative and Judicial branches as the good guys protecting society from a rapacious would-be autocrat.

“The Founders saw themselves as framing a more perfect version of separation of powers and a balanced constitution. [The Executive branch] did not have the power to tax and spend; it was constrained by due process in enforcing the law against members of the body politic; it was elected for a limited term of office; and it was elected by the nation as a whole. That is a remarkable democratic institution – the only figure elected by the Nation as a whole.

“The second contemporary way of thinking that operates against the Executive is a notion that the Constitution does not sharply allocate powers among the three branches, but rather that the branches, especially the political branches, ‘share’ powers. One of the ironies of today is that those who oppose this President constantly accuse this Administration of ‘shredding’ constitutional norms and waging a war on the rule of law. The fact is that this Administration’s policy initiatives and proposed rules…have transgressed neither constitutional, nor traditional, norms, and have been amply supported by the law and patiently litigated through the Court system to vindication.” (Attorney General Bill Barr)

“A just balance and scales are the Lord’s; all the weights in the bag are his work.” (Proverbs 16:11; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Declare, “The three branches of the U.S. government will operate within the powers given them by the U.S. Constitution.”
  • Intercede for each branch—Executive, Legislative, and Judicial—in as much depth as you have understanding of it. Here is a transcript of it from the U.S. National Archives to help you.
  • Pray for a revelation of the balance of powers to decision-makers in D.C.
  • Ask the Lord to raise up government legislators and attorneys, as well as educators in colleges and universities, to highlight the great need of this understanding among the American populace.
  • Cry out, “Where is the one who will protect the U.S. Constitution? Where is that reformer who can make the ancient path new again?”
  • Thank the Lord for our Attorney General Bill Barr, who brought this issue to light in the midst of the national challenge of presidential impeachment.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, the three branches of the U. S. government, Executive, Legislative and Judicial, were designed to each have their own specific functions. Each of these functions is a component of who You are and we are thankful for our framers’ understanding of that when they decided the powers each of the branches of our government would have. Help us to educate ourselves on that powerful document. We ought to be familiar with the constitutional roles of the three branches and the balance of powers of each detailed in it. Lord, wake up the American people to care about such things. When we stopped teaching civics in schools, we gave ourselves over to the possibility of reinterpretation of our Constitution. May this never be! Raise up a generation who sees this threat! Raise them up as lawmakers in states and in Congress. Raise them up as lawyers and judges and educators in these things. Let our colleges and universities honor this document in their history, civics, and law courses. Lord, where is the one who will protect the U.S. Constitution? Where is that reformer who can make the ancient path new again? Thank you for people like Atty. General Bill Barr, who are pulling back the curtain on our ignorance and helping us see what needs to be understood in this dangerous time in American history. Help the three branches navigate this impeachment process to Your desired end in Jesus Name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Our government will function as it was designed to function under the U.S. Constitution. Modern thought shall not falsely alter it!
