God Will Part Your “Red Sea”

“The same God that parted the Red Sea will part whatever circumstances you’re dealing with. I have a slave kettle that’s been passed down through my family and that’s what it means to us. Basically, the same God that parted slavery in this nation can part our circumstances today. None of this kicks in without somebody laying down their life in sacrificial devotion to the Lord. Then we see the Hand of Providence begin to move!” (Will Ford)1

“By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.” (Hebrews 11:29; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Read Exodus 14. Get excited! What God has done, He can do again in a spiritual sense!
  • Consider what Will meant when he said that “God parted slavery”. God set the captives free in this nation. More than 200 years of prayer went up from those slaves and a tragically bloody Civil War was fought before the passage of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution abolishing slavery. It took more than 100 more for some family members of former slaves to experience complete freedom, and racism continues to affect our national culture. But there was a parting. Selah – stop and think about this.
  • Consider other national issues where a parting is needed – abortion, pornography and sex trafficking, a failing political system, economic instability. Boldly ask the Lord for a parting of our national “Red Seas.”
  • Think about your personal need for a parting of your circumstances. Make the same bold declarations over them!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, in reading Exodus 14, I can see that You made a way for Your people where there truly appeared to be no way. They sacrificed hundreds of years and cried out to You for salvation and You heard them and delivered them, then wiped their enemy out! Do the same for our national issues. We get on our faces and pray and cry out for deliverance. Just as you delivered our nation from the curse of slavery, Lord, deliver us from the curse of the shedding of blood from abortion and the holding of others captive as in sex trafficking. Part the sea in my life and make a way for my personal freedom! The enemy is breathing down my neck and telling me it is not possible, but You make a way where there seems to be none! In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s decree:

God parts the “Red Sea” in our nation and our lives and nation when we choose to give Him a sacrifice of worshipful faith and intercession!

Blessings We Didn’t Earn

Joshua and Caleb were entering the promised land together with a whole group of people who had grown up in the wilderness. Their wilderness experience included being led by a cloud by day and a fire by night. Their clothes and shoes never wore out. They had cakey white stuff called manna that they gathered up and ate every day. They were born in the desert, but they were the recipients of the blessings given to those who had sacrificed before them to get them to this point. (Will Ford)1

“Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated—the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.” (Hebrews 11:36-39; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • As challenging as things are in the United States currently, we are still experiencing the blessings bought by generations before us that paid the price for us to be here. Thank the Lord for the freedom we do have!
  • Thank the Lord for our religious freedom!
  • Thank the Lord for our freedom to vote and the process we have to choose our leaders. Consider the alternatives.
  • Thank the Lord that we can choose how we make a living, where we want to live and who we choose to gather to worship Him with. Clap your hands and thank Him out loud!

A prayer you can pray:

Jesus, things feel insecure in the nation. Sin abounds more and more. However, I thank you that we are still primarily a free nation! Thank you that we can come and go as we please. Thank you that we can worship You as we choose to, wherever we want to, whenever we want to and with whomever we choose. Thank you that we can still go to the voting booth and choose those who represent us, even if we don’t always agree with who is elected or fully agree with the political party platforms. Never let me cease to thank you no matter what I am facing and may I always proclaim your goodness to the next generation. Amen.

Today’s decree:

I will be thankful for the freedoms I do have thanks to the battles those before me faced.

The Creative Word of God!

The word “asah” describes God’s creative activities and His ability. It means to prepare for God-activity that only God’s ability can create for you. A campaign is beginning on earth that only the ability of God can execute. We’re called to discern it and participate. Holy Spirit will release divine ability and anointing and angel armies to accomplish it. The Kingdom is now going to demonstrate God activity. (Tim Sheets)1

“Then God looked over all that he had made (“asah”), and it was excellent in every way. This ended the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:31; TLB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Read Genesis 1. The first way God reveals Himself to us in scripture is as Creator! And, He lives in You! Sit and think about that for a minute.
  • God’s creativity took place in time as He spoke His dreams out loud! Think about that for a few minutes. Get a piece of paper out and write out your thoughts about this.
  • Pray that God will give you the faith to create with your words flowing from Holy Spirit’s impressions on your heart. Speak your prayers out loud. Imagine them creating God’s Will as you speak! Speak healing. Speak deliverance. Speak national alignment with God’s perfect will and purposes! Keep going! Kingdom demonstration is beginning with your prayers – your words!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, in Genesis 1 I see that You revealed Yourself to us first as Creator! Let me think about that for a minute. I see that You spoke into existence what previously only existed in Your heart and mind. I want to think about that for another minute. Wow! Give me words to pray now that are Holy Spirit inspired – words that create Your Will in the earth! I speak healing to the sick and deliverance to the captives! I say that this nation shall line up with the will and purposes it was created for – to reflect the glory of the Lord in the earth! God, express Your Kingdom through Your Church now! In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church will now speak out the creative power of God and watch Him manifest the Kingdom through our out-loud prayers!

Freedom and Kingdom Advancement

“The original American dream wasn’t about wealth, but freedom—freedom to worship and freedom from tyranny. It was also about partnering with God to release the light of His word to all nations, and exporting His glorious gospel to the ends of the earth.”1

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Repent when you have complained to God about your circumstances, as though He is a God Who cannot see.
  • Pray for all of those you know who truly do not have enough. Ask the Lord if there is anything you can do to help them.
  • Thank the Lord for the freedom we have to worship Him!
  • Commit to pray for the upcoming elections. Begin to seek God for wisdom to know which leaders will help us maintain the most freedom to advance the Kingdom.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, forgive me when I have complained that I do not have enough. That may be my temporary circumstance, but You are able to turn my circumstances around. I choose to put my whole trust in You! I sow in prayer for those I know who truly do not have enough. Meet their needs, Lord. Show me if there is a way I can be a blessing to them. I thank You that regardless of my abundance or lack, I am still able to worship You freely in this nation! As I worship You, grant me wisdom to know who to vote for, Lord. Who will work the hardest to maintain our freedom to advance Your Kingdom in the earth? In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s decree:

I look for God to maintain our nation’s freedom and abundance!

Memorial Day

“The 30th day of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet church-yard in the land…Their soldier lives were the reveille of freedom to a race in chains,…Let no vandalism of avarice or neglect, no ravages of time testify to the present or to the coming generations that we have forgotten as a people the cost of a free and undivided republic.”1

“Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.” (Galatians 5:1; MSG)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day was a day to honor the fallen who had fought for a united nation and whose sacrifice freed from slavery those in chains. Worship God for your freedom. Thank Him that we live in a relatively free society—one of the freest in the earth today!
  • Commit to spiritually fight on your knees to maintain the freedom of the United States of America, a country God founded for His purposes.
  • Get some flowers or flags today, visit a cemetery and decorate the grave of a fallen soldier. Leave a note of thanks and hope for their family members. Tell them their loved one is not forgotten and that you care!

A prayer you can pray:

Dear Lord, thank you for allowing me the privilege to live in a free America. Thank you again for gracing us, through great turmoil and cost at times, to be one of the freest societies on the earth today. I commit to intercede for the freedom of this nation and support those in the armed services who fight on foreign fronts for that continued freedom. Show me where I can bless a family who has lost a soldier relative and let them know that their loved one did not die in vain. I am thankful! In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s decree:

I am thankful for the freedom I have as a result of the cost that others have paid for that freedom! May they never be forgotten!

Daily Sacrifice

“While only one day of the year is dedicated solely to honoring our veterans, Americans must never forget the sacrifices many of our countrymen have made to defend our country and protect our freedoms.” Congressman Randy Neugebauer

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • This Memorial Day weekend, let’s honor those who made the greatest sacrifice, and also those who daily sacrifice for our freedom. Thank the Lord for those serving in the armed services.
  • Pray for servicemen and women, especially those you know personally. Ask the Lord to give them strength and grace for their assignments, especially those serving in war zones overseas.
  • Pray for those who are retired military. Ask the Lord to provide everything they need – provision, jobs, medical care and companionship. Pray against all infirmity of body and mind resulting from their service.
  • Pray for the families of those who serve. They pay a great price also, in relocations and in dealing with any physical, mental and emotional effects their loved ones may experience.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, thank you for all of the men and women who serve our country in the armed forces. Please grant them grace and strength for the assignments they are given, especially those who are in active warfare for freedom. Meet the deepest needs of those who are now retired from military service. Open doors for their futures and heal them, if need be, body, soul and spirit. Draw them to You and help them know how appreciated they are by those of us who understand. Bless their family members and minister to them, as well. In the Name of Jesus, Amen

Today’s decree:

We are grateful for the men and women fight daily for our freedom and we pray a blessing over their lives and the lives of their families!

True Sacrifice

“My only regret is that I have but one life to give for my country.” The man who penned these words, Nathan Hale, was one of the first to give his life for the future of this nation. He gave it willingly just as the nation was being birthed. Monday we will formally celebrate Memorial Day; the day we remember all of those who gave their lives for our freedom from the era of Nathan Hale to today.

“And on that cross Christ freed himself from the power of the spiritual rulers and authorities; he made a public spectacle of them by leading them as captives in his victory procession.” (Colossians 2:15; GNT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Jesus is our role model. He willingly laid down His life for our spiritual freedom. Worship Him!
  • Pray for the families of those who have lost loved ones who died fighting for our freedom.
  • Ask the Lord for a revelation of the spiritual battles being fought, even as physical battles are being fought. The two often go together. Pray for our soldiers in the Middle East.
  • Thank a veteran or two or three that you see today. Post a thank you to social media or make a few phone calls.

A prayer you can pray:

Dear Lord, thank you for Jesus who died for our freedom and established Your Kingdom. Thank you for the brave soldiers who have given their lives for our freedom and established our nation. We are in every way the land of the free and the home of the brave. Grant me a grace to understand the nature of spiritual warfare and how spiritual battles often coincide with physical battles in the earth. I lift up every soldier fighting in the Middle East. Protect them, Lord, and bring them home safely. Give them wisdom to fight well with great success! In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s decree:

I honor those who have given their lives for my freedom!

The Sons of Isachaar

The sons of Isachaar understood the times, so Israel knew what to do. We need to understand the times we are in. We need to know what to do in light of this. “The times” in 1 Chronicles 12:32 is the Hebrew word ‘eth. It means the proper or opportune time for an event to take place. “To know” in the same verse is yada’ and means to gain knowledge by sensing or distinguishing between options. (Tim Sheets)1

“From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.” (1 Chronicles 12:32; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • The sons of Isachaar knew it was time to crown David King. The rule of Saul was over. A knew season had come to Israel. Ask the Lord for the spirit of Isachaar that you may also know the times and what to do.
  • Repent of a spirit of religion that thinks it knows what God is doing. His ways are not ours. He can surprise us!
  • Ask the Lord for an increasing gift of discernment and an ability to gain knowledge by distinguishing between options, not by the outward appearance, but by the Spirit.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, thank you for telling us about the sons of Isachaar and their unique role in Israel. Please give the Church the mantle of Isachaar at this point in history. We need this mantle to help our nation move forward in Your plans. Our religious nature may choose by outward appearance or by what we think You would want for the nation, Lord. Forgive us. While adhering to the Word of God and not deterring from it, we need to discern what You are doing and what this nation really needs to correct its course! Help us, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

Mantle the Church with the spirit of Isachaar, Lord!

Tradition or Kingdom?

In the recent past, the Church was trying to hold onto tradition instead of embracing the calling to get involved in every sphere of society. Thus, the secular mindset took hold from education to government to media to family. Now, we feel voiceless and like we are in slavery to the world’s systems. But, we can change this!

“How can I picture God’s kingdom? It’s like yeast that a woman works into enough dough for three loaves of bread—and waits while the dough rises.” (Luke 13:20-21; MSG)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Forgive the Church of the past for choosing religious tradition over Kingdom advancement.
  • Repent if you know this has been a way the enemy has trapped you. Tell the Lord you want to be free!
  • Ask the Lord where your heart beats most: family, government, business, education, arts & entertainment or media. Ask Him what practical thing you can do to change that realm of influence.
  • Passionately pray for that realm of influence for a few minutes.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I forgive the Church of the past for holding tightly to religious tradition instead of getting out in society expressing Your Kingdom to all. Forgive me when I have felt safe and comfortable there myself. Oh Lord, can things change?! Show me where You would have me expanding Your Kingdom. Am I unaware of an area of society that You have created me to influence? Show me! Then, cause my heart to cry out to You in intercession for that realm. (Pray for a few minutes for one of the areas above.) In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church will find its voice, experience a greater level of freedom, and the nation will change as the yeast of the Kingdom is spread through every aspect of society!

Healing History

God’s plan is always for the present generation to build on the strengths of the previous. This is the synergy of the ages—multiplied power through generational agreement and honor. We must pray intently, in agreement with the appeals of our forefathers and predecessors, in order to see a continuation of what they birthed. And we must actively repent of our wrongs and theirs, allowing God to reach back in time, healing our history so that blessings can flow into our present.1

Then he said, ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.’ At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. The Lord said, ‘I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go.’” (Exodus 3:6-9; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank the Lord for the saints who have gone before us, generation to generation, at times paying a tremendous price to expand God’s Kingdom in the earth.
  • Repent for the sins of our Christian forefathers who sinned in the process of spreading the gospel.
  • Repent of your own complacency or religious attitudes.
  • Ask the Lord to correct history now and fix what we broke spiritually along the way and get us back on His track as a nation. Tell Him we want to finish the task and cause America to glorify Him!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, thank you for those saints that have gone before us, at times paying a heavy price to stand for Jesus while confronting sin in our nation. Forgive them if they fell into sin and brought reproach on the Church and on Your name. Forgive me when I may have done the same. Hear my prayers and please use me and my generation to correct the past, so that this nation can completely fulfill its calling and glorify You in the earth! In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s decree:

Our repentance today can heal the breaches of history so that Jesus can be glorified in America!
