Shifting History

“Passionate intercession led to the First and Second Great Awakenings. Following the Second Great Awakening, came the Civil War. ‘Finally, the institution that everyone thought would always remain intact was abolished. Merely seven years earlier, in 1857, the Dred Scott Supreme Court legal decision had declared that slaves had no rights in court, and many thought this ruling sealed the fate of slavery. Most believed that the issue was settled, but God released a revival to turn hearts, and a Civil War to turn a nation, so slavery could come to an end. Cries in bondage had come up before God’s throne as incense. Just as He did for Israel in Egypt, He tipped the bowl of deliverance and ended slavery.’” (Will Ford in The Dream King)1

For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Roe v Wade is like the Dred Scott decision. The Court decided that infants in the womb have no rights. Declare that developing Americans in the womb have all the rights of any other citizen.
  • There have been years and years of intercession for the ending of abortion since Roe v Wade in 1973. Matt Lockett’s organization, Bound4Life, has stood before the Supreme Court for over 10 years asking God for the reversal of that decision. Decree, “Abortion is ending in my lifetime!”
  • Pray: “Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America.”’
  • Educate yourself on your state’s laws regarding abortion. Pray for the ending of abortion in your state.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, it is good to be reminded of moments in history where history appears to repeat itself. As Will noted, slaves were once treated as though they were non-persons in this nation. The unborn are are non-persons today. How dare a Court of 9 justices decide that babies in the womb are not persons? You are the One to make that decision and we turn to You, Lord, Judge of the whole earth. We ask you to reverse our Supreme Court’s decision. Abortion will end in my lifetime! I choose life and, Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America! Let me state (name it) choose to kick abortion out! May my state (name it) choose life for its citizens. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We put our hope in Christ that abortion will end in America!

Birthing the Bold Through Intercession

“One of the things released to Earth through these prayers (our prayers mixed with incense from the throneroom of God) is bold voices. For my ancestors, these bold voices were revivalists and white Christian abolitionists who became voices for the voiceless. They knew any Christian who was a slave was their brother, and they laid down their lives for them. Many abolitionists had their houses burned, were shot, killed, or lynched, because they chose to suffer with the people of God like Moses did with the children of Israel, rather than compromise and wink at slavery. Their storylines are threaded together with their Christian brothers in slavery as they prayed and advocated for their freedom.” (Will Ford in The Dream King)1

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.” (Acts 4:31; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Want to be a revivalist? Pray!
  • Want to be an Evangelist, a Pastor, a Teacher, a Prophet, or an Apostle? Sacrificially intercede!
  • Watch for the instructions, open doors, and Divine appointments that materialize. Pray for the bold faith to follow those instructions, go through those doors and walk together in those unique relationships.
  • Pray and ask God how to be a voice for the voiceless and an advocate for freedom for the limited. Now, go do what He says without thought for yourself.

A prayer you can pray:

God, I want to be a revivalist! I want to fulfill the call You have placed on my life! Stir my heart to intercession more than ever before. Stir my passion for the needs of people who don’t yet know You. Let me lay down my life in intercession for the needs of the nation. I will watch for Your divine leading, for open doors that no man can shut, and for relationships to materialize for Your “now” purposes. Make me a voice for the voiceless and an advocate for freedom for the marginalized. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

The bold and fearless prayers of saints filled with the Holy Spirit will shake the U.S. harvest of souls free!

Our Intercession and His Divine Design

“Although they were only using the kettle as an acoustic means to keep their prayers from being heard, my family’s kettle on earth became a representation of prayer bowls that collect our prayers in heaven. The Bible speaks of ‘bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints’ before the throne of God (Rev. 5:8). …At some point, according to Rev. 8:3-5, these prayers are combined, hurled to the Earth, and answered in the form of God’s judgements and power.” (Will Ford in The Dream King)1

Then another angel with a gold incense burner came and stood at the altar. And a great amount of incense was given to him to mix with the prayers of God’s people as an offering on the gold altar before the throne. The smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of God’s holy people, ascended up to God from the altar where the angel had poured them out. Then the angel filled the incense burner with fire from the altar and threw it down upon the earth; and thunder crashed, lightning flashed, and there was a terrible earthquake.” (Revelation 8:3-5; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • See every prayer you pray for America and this generation as liquid drops of love filling bowls in heaven. See the aroma of that love rising as incense to Him on His throne of grace. Not one prayer is wasted!
  • Now, see all the prayers being prayed by every praying saint, filling up heavenly bowls.
  • Worship Him! How can our nation not be saved?!
  • See Him order His holy angels to grab those bowls and pour them on the earth in golden streams of heavenly, perfectly-timed, answers.
  • Stand up and decree that America shall be saved!

A prayer you can pray:

God, thank you for showing us in Your Word and in Will’s family story how You lovingly collect and hold every prayer we pray. At the exact right time, You declare the bowls full. At the exact right moment, you instruct Your angelic host to pick those bowls up and pour them out. Awakenings begin, nations are saved, harvests are reaped, and many other things happen that we may not know until we are standing in that room full of bowls some day. Blessings and honor and glory and power to Your name, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree that bowls of intercession are being filled and thrown to the earth and this nation shall be saved!

Passing His History Forward

“A young girl who attended those (the secret slave) prayer meetings (see May 2, 2018) was set free from slavery. This teenaged girl…saw fit to pass down the cast iron kettle because she knew that she and all those born after her were standing on the sacrifice of others’ devotion to Christ. She was careful to preserve and pass on both the kettle and its history. She passed it to Harriet Locket, who passed it to Nora Locket, who passed it to William Ford, Jr., who gave it to me, William Ford, III.” (Will Ford in The Dream King)1

I will speak of ancient mysteries—things that we have heard about, things that we have known, things which our ancestors declared to us again and again. We will not keep these things secret from their children; rather, we will tell the coming generation all about the praise that is due to the Eternal One. We will tell them all about His strength, power, and wonders.” (Psalm 78:2b-4; VOICE)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • There are powerful things God has done in our personal histories, family histories and in our national history that are stories that must be told for the sake of others. Ask God for the revealing of historical facts currently hidden or buried.
  • Thank God for the preserving of Will’s family history. We’ll soon learn about his friend Matt Lockett’s family history and how it intertwined with his.
  • Ask God to unlock historical and spiritual secrets preserved in our city’s, region’s, state’s and nation’s history. This is part of what we call “spiritual mapping.”
  • Call for the revealing of God’s plans, purposes, and ways of dealing with demonic strongholds that may be locked in history’s stories so that we and our generations to follow us have reason to worship Him!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, reveal historical facts in our families, regions, and in the nation that can help us move forward culturally in America. We thank you for showing Will and Matt how their family histories can help us know how to move the United States forward today. Unlock the mysteries yet to be revealed. Don’t let us go down rabbit holes or get distracted, but show us what needs to be revealed in this timeframe. Unlock, unlock, unlock, and connect the dots for us, Holy Spirit! Give us stories to tell our kids and grandkids. Lead us to worship You, generation to generation, for great things You have done! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

We will tell the coming generation all about the praise that is due to the Eternal One!

Secret Slave Prayer Meeting

“One of my family’s ancestors who was present in these prayer meetings (See May 2, 2018) passed down the story of the secret prayer around the kettle. These slaves didn’t believe they would ever see freedom in their own lifetimes, so they prayed for the freedom of their children and their children’s children. They risked their lives to pray for the freedom of future generations.” (Will Ford in The Dream King)1

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray for the sins of this generation to end, for the sake of your children’s and children’s children’s generation.
  • Intercede for another Great Awakening, and the ending of racism, abortion, addictions, mysogyny, sexual perversion, gender confusion, human trafficking, and any other thing the Lord brings to your mind that needs His intervention to set captives free in this nation.
  • Taking a stand in God’s love for these freedoms can put you right in the crosshairs of those who don’t know God or His love for them. Pray for them anyway. Show them His love anyway.
  • Run for government offices, school boards and other municipal boards. Or support those in office. Get to know those in these offices and make suggestions for statutes and legislation for the sake of our generations to come.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we will pray for Your freedom in our nation with passion, even if we don’t see things shift in our generation. For the sake of our children and grandchildren, we will pray. Give us another Great Awakening! Heal our nation of racism, abortion, addictions, mysogyny, sexual perversion, gender confusion, human trafficking and any other thing that needs Your intervention to set captives free in this nation. We will choose to love those who do not understand or agree with us. Grace us to love them anyway. Show us if You want us to run for governmental office or how we can support those that are representing us in policy-making positions from the local to the national level. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I decree our intercession will provide for our children to live in a truly free America!

A Providential Kettle

“In spite of the danger, my enslaved family members would sneak into a barn late at night while everyone else was asleep, making sure their prayer meetings were never seen or heard. As they carefully opened the door, they eased into the barn, carrying the black cast-iron kettle. Once inside, they turned the kettle upside down, so the opening was on the dirt floor of the barn; then they placed rocks under the rim of the kettle to prop it up… They would lie on the ground, prostrate around the kettle, with their mouths close to the opening. The kettle would then muffle their voices as they prayed softly through the night.” (Will Ford in The Dream King)1

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” (Psalm 138:8; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Try to imagine the desperation of the slaves that were the forefathers and mothers of many African Americans living today, including Will Ford. If you have stories of praying for deliverance passed down in your family, ponder them.
  • Thank the Lord for ending slavery in America, but also acknowledge that generational pain is not yet healed.
  • Ask God to work miracles, as this generation prays and acts, to deliver this nation from all of the effects of racism on our culture.
  • Determine to love others as you want to be loved, regardless of race.
  • Pray for the freedom of those trapped in modern-day slavery—human trafficking and sex trafficking.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, thank you for Will Ford sharing his story and the stories his family passed down, so we can understand the heartache and faith of former American slaves. Many of our Black brothers and sisters are still treated as inferior today, and this needs to stop! Just as Will’s family put their hope and trust in You to set them free, Lord, we put our hope in you to end the conflict between races in America today. We know the racial divides in the U.S. are not completely healed yet. This has to happen one heart at a time. Stir us to intercede and take action to come together across the races to see this injustice fully end in our nation. As we pray, set those free who are trapped in modern-day slavery, in human trafficking and sex trafficking. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

I decree an end to racism in America in my generation!

National Day of Prayer 2018 – “Unity”

(We are altering our normal format to come into unity with the prayer format from The National Day of Prayer Task Force. Please pray over each of these national issues.)

“Division abounds in almost every segment of America. Sadly, it exists even between Christians and in most churches. For too long, disunity has triumphed in our nation. It is time for this to come to an end.

Our greatest hope lies only in Jesus Christ, His Gospel, and the advancement of this Good News message reaching every corner of America and across this world.

While we call out to God for His Church to be revived by the Spirit and come together in unity and simultaneously pray extraordinarily for the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America, I want to ask you to consider these four actions for all Christians right now.

1. Rest in the Lord

Resting in the Lord is not lying down; it is trusting in the Lord. Jesus is still Lord and God is still on the throne. One day, every leader in our nation, from the most unrecognized part of American society to the members of the highest court of our land, will stand in front of the Highest Court of Eternity, God Himself, and give an account to Him. They will not be alone. Each of us will give an account of our lives to God.

A call to action is important, but at times we also need to pause. We need to get before God. Rest in Him. Our God has all things under control.

2. Come Together in Unity

Followers of Christ need each other more than ever before. While certain secondary doctrinal differences will exist, we need to unite around the beliefs that:

  • The Bible is God’s infallible Word; it is Truth without any mixture of error.
  • Jesus is the Son of God and the hope of the world; therefore, salvation is faith alone in Christ alone.
  • We must focus our lives, churches, and futures on taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to every person in America and across the world.

We need to stop fighting over secondary issues and rise up together to become the spiritual light in this darkening America and World.

3. Prepare for the Future

What will the Church become in the future of America? Will we lose our freedom or have it affirmed?

We need to prepare for the future realistically, but also with great hope. Regardless of the present cultural tide that is rising in direct opposition to the ways of God, we are a gospel people committed to Christ alone.

Our future is not in the hands of the United States government; our future is in the Hands of our Sovereign God.

We need to prepare future generations spiritually and vocationally for what God wants them to be and how He wants them to live for Him.

4. Pray Like Never Before for the Next Great Spiritual Awakening

Minute by minute, day by day, a stronger conviction is growing that America must have the next Great Spiritual Awakening in our generation. Without a mighty revival in the Church and an awakening in the land that will result in millions coming to Christ, we are facing days that will become darker and more difficult.

Yet, I am abounding with greater hope than ever before. I believe God wants greatly to awaken the sleeping giant called the Church!

The alarm clock is going off in our nation and this is not the time to push the snooze button. I do not believe the Church will sleep through this season in America.

We need a mighty, nationwide movement of prayer to take place now. Prayer precedes every great movement of God biblically and historically.

Rise together now, stand upon God’s Word unashamedly, forward the message of the gospel exponentially, and pray relentlessly every day for the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America.

I choose to believe God.

Now is the Time to Lead and to Pray for America,

A Korean Symbol of Peace

Reuniting families divided for decades is one of the promises made last week when the heads of North and South Korea met to discuss a plan for peace. Leadership around the world is cautiously optimistic about the coming plan. Family members wept at the thought of seeing one another again—can this really be true? One hopeful sign emerged on Friday after lunch. A pine tree was jointly planted. “…A pine tree – standing for peace and prosperity – with soil and water from both countries.”1 It was thought to have been seeded in 1953 at the end of the Korean War. It may now become a symbol of the answer to the prayers of millions of Korean saints praying for 65 years for the unity of their families and their nations.

Evergreens will grow in place of thorn bushes, firs will grow in place of nettles; they will be a monument to the Lord, a permanent reminder that will remain.” (Isaiah 55:13; NET)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray for the citizens of both North and South Korea, as they begin to hope again.
  • Ask the Lord to bless the praying Church of Korea, both North and South, for their 65 years of intercession toward the freedom of their nations.
  • Intercede for the reuniting of families across the borders.
  • Ask God for a great harvest of souls to begin in North and South Korea! There can be a spiritual unification, while the physical one is being developed.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, Korea is on Your heart! Nothing happens by accident and we believe the planting of an evergreen tree by North and South Korea was a sign from You that You are answering the 65 years of prayers of the people of Korea. Let it become a monument of Your faithfulness to answer the prayers of  Your people. Reunite families and reunite a nation. Let no future plan of man stop fathers, mothers, children, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents from seeing one another, holding one another, and praying with one another, ever again! Send revival to Korea now, Lord—a great harvest of souls! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree that Korea and its families will be reunited now! 1 Smith, Nicola, et. al., “Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in commit to Korean ‘peace regime’ to end nuclear conflict at historic summit”., 4/27/18. 5/1/18.

North and South Korea

A few months ago, I felt a strong urging from the Holy Spirit to pray for the removal of Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea. He was threatening South Korea, the U.S. and other nearby nations with nuclear war. We also prayed for the unification of North and South Korea. The primary goal of our intercession was to see revival sparked in both North and South Korea in place of oppression and fear. Well, things calmed down and on Friday of last week, South Korea’s president Moon Jae-In and North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, met and signed an agreement to work on a peace treaty between the two nations in exchange for North Korea’s denuclearization.1 N. Korea has promised peace under his father’s regime in response to severe sanctions. They didn’t keep their promise. So, don’t stop praying for the Korean peninsula.

“You say, ‘I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity. When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm.’” (Psalm 75:2-5; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Pray for the peace of North and South Korea—the peace that only God and His plans can give.
  • Intercede for those who will write the peace agreement between the two nations.
  • Ask God to judge and uncover any motives other than peace and cooperation between these two nations whose people are loved by God.
  • Pray for hope to arise in the Church in these nations. Let them intercede like never before. Join them!
  • Declare that this is the time for the prayers of Korean saints of both nations to be answered.
  • Say to the enemy, “Set Korea free!”

A prayer you can pray:

Jesus, I come to You to ask You to be the peace of North and South Korea. You have heard and answered the prayers of the saints of these two nations to bring them to this point of a possible peace treaty. Let Your hand be the One that guides those who will negotiate and write this treaty. Judge the motives behind what has brought these leaders to this historic moment and let Your love put the words on the pages. Grant a renewed hope to the Church of both nations, so they are encouraged to press in with renewed intercessory passion! I declare that their prayers will be answered! In Your loving name, amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree that North and South Korea shall be free and united!

Bringing Heaven to Earth

We recently went through one of the greatest harvests of souls and outpourings of Holy Spirit in history. It was called the Charismatic movement. It is thought that upwards of 50 million people worldwide came into the Kingdom in that move of God. We saw salvations, healings, and baptisms in the Holy Spirit…and we actually lost ground! While we were getting them saved, we were losing the culture. While we were getting them saved, unbelievers were discipling the nation. While we were getting people saved and healed and ready for heaven, unbelievers were taking over government, and education, and the media. They were even taking over elements of the Church and the family and business. While we were doing Mark 16, they were doing Matthew 28. They didn’t call it that, but that’s what happened. So, we don’t just get people ready for heaven, but we need to bring Heaven into the earth.

Jesus came up and said to them, ‘All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations[help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:18-20; AMP)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Tell the Lord you want the whole harvest now—the harvest of souls and the harvest of societal reformation.
  • Intercede for the Body of Christ to understand how to walk in Matthew 28, in the place of societal reformation.
  • Ask the Lord for strategies to get the Church back, the family back, and business back.
  • Ask Him how the Ekklesia should pray and act to get government, education, media, and the arts back.
  • Tell Him you want to know how to disciple America in one or more of these areas of authority.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, I want to see the whole harvest. I want both a harvest of souls and a harvest of reformation in America. Show the Body of Christ how to walk in the place of reformation. Show us how to pray and act to get the family and our churches back. Show us how to have transformational businesses. Show us how to reclaim government, education, media, and the arts. Show me how to disciple those within my realm of authority (name it), until we, together, see They Kingdom come and Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree a Matthew 28 fulfillment is coming to the United States of America!
