The East Coast – Oil and Fire Awakening

As the vision continued, Jesus made His way to the East Coast where He said, “There is an oil and fire awakening and movement of My Spirit that is coming to the East Coast.”

I could see that there is an increased awakening coming all along the East Coast. I could see a fire, a spiritual fire, moving throughout specific locations. Broward County in Florida was one of the highlighted areas. The occult practices in Broward county and the surrounding regions that have been engaged in these practices, with the intent to hold back the nation from righteous and conservative values, will be exposed and dealt with. I could see the apostolic/prophetic prayer army issuing a final blow to the schemes of the enemy in that region.

As the vision continued, I could see clearly the dark hand of the deep state that had gripped the United States. But every area and region that the Lord walked into, the grip of the deep state could no longer keeps its demonic hold on our nation. I heard Him say, “Florida, you are key for this time; for such a time as this. Where the deep state has penetrated through to Broward County, the grip will be broken and there will be a new move of My Spirit that will come into Florida and cause a righteousness to rise up.”

North and South Carolina, get ready for a visitation.

Georgia was highlighted, and He spoke, “Awakening is on you, even within the government. This move of awakening will have great impact in governmental state leaders.”

“I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed. I crushed them so that they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet. You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.” (Psalm 18:37-39; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Proclaim, “There is an oil and fire awakening and movement of My Spirit that is coming to the East Coast.”
  • Call for the fire of God to sweep down the east coast!
  • Target Florida and Broward County with your intercession. Pursue corruption and every evil stronghold in that area. Call for the Body of Christ to rise up and dispel the darkness. Let the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus to take its place.
  • Join the Lord in declaring, “Florida, you are key for this time; for such a time as this. Where the deep state has penetrated through to Broward County, the grip will be broken and there will be a new move of My Spirit that will come into Florida and cause a righteousness to rise up.”
  • Call the Carolinas to choose righteousness and come into their destiny as leaders in purity and holiness. Revival is there!
  • Say over Georgia, “Awakening is on you, even within the government. This move of awakening will have great impact in governmental state leaders.”

A prayer you can pray:

“There is an oil and fire awakening and movement of My Spirit that is coming to the East Coast.” Nothing can stop it now! It has begun and the flames will be fanned with the intercession of the saints. Oh, can you feel the burning coming? The holy fire of God, burning out all the old growth and undergrowth and purifying and cleansing. It’s a new day of righteousness for the east coast. Florida, you are key for this time; for such a time as this. Where the deep state has penetrated through to Broward County, your grip will be broken and there will be a new move of the Spirit that will come into Florida and cause a righteousness to rise up. Broward County, you are on God’s radar. The Church will unite and drive out the darkness, occult practices and corruption. You are already undone! Revival has already started in North and South Carolina. You will find the destiny God established you for. You will lead the nation in revival and many miracles will happen there. We say to Georgia, “Awakening is on you, even within the government. This move of awakening will have great impact in governmental state leaders.” Show the nation how to govern righteously! In the authority of Jesus Christ, we pray, amen.

Today’s decree:

An oil and fire awakening is coming to America’s east coast!

Northern U.S. – Unlocking of Covenants and Abortion Legislation

Initially, I saw Jesus in the northern region of the United States, and I heard Him say, “There will be an unlocking of original covenants in the land that will cause the nation to shift into righteous covenant. As this unlocking occurs, it will pave a way throughout 2019, leading into 2020, and 4 years following 2020 for continued and increased righteous governance in the White House that will lead this land. This government will continue to decree righteousness through alignments with key nations, standing for life of the unborn, the supporting of Israel and the belief in Christian values and prayer.”

He then brought the focus to abortion and said, “Abortion will continue to be dealt with state by state, region by region; a grassroots movement of states that will stand for righteousness. This is just the beginning.”

He further revealed that as we begin to advance from now through to 2024, and going into 2025 there will be 28 states that will shift abortion legislation to righteousness in which an unborn child will no longer be considered a fetus, but a human life. Legislation will begin to shift in these 28 states to the stance that abortion is murder and illegal once the heartbeat is heard in the mother’s womb. In many of these 28 states I could even see a newer wave of legislation being written. The language within this new legislation will be “Life begins at the moment of conception.”

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Intercede for the northern region of the United States. Decree, together with the Spirit of the Lord, “There will be an unlocking of original covenants in the land that will cause the nation to shift into righteous covenant.”
  • Call forth His unlocking sequence. Agree with God and call for an unlocking of His righteous plan for America. Included in that are the next two national elections, America’s support for Israel, the increase in Christian values and prayer by the populace, and the ending of abortion.
  • Say to every baby that will enter a womb in America over the next generation, “The Lord says, ‘I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart.’ (Jeremiah 1:5a; NLT) You “will not die, but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.’ (Psalm 118:17; NET).”
  • Decree, “Abortion will continue to be dealt with state by state, region by region; a grassroots movement of states will stand for righteousness.”
  • Call for the 28 states that will affirm that life begins at the moment of conception. Speak it specifically over the northeast and stand amazed.

A prayer you can pray:

Jesus, You are speaking loudly that You are going to move region by region across the U.S.A. You are sending your prophets and apostles out and the regions are going to glorify You in their areas. Let the intercessory gatherings begin! These aren’t same old, same old. These will be filled with the called out ones, those filled with faith, who already know what God is saying and doing in their regions. They will not come for speakers or programs, but for You. They will worship and seek Your face and declare what You are saying over their corner. In the Northeast, they will call forth Your unlocking sequence. We agree with them and with You and call for an unlocking of Your righteous plan for America. Hover over the nation’s capital, Lord and the next two national elections. Solidify America’s support for Israel, the increase in Christian values and prayer by the populace, and the ending of abortion. We declare together over every baby coming to this generations of women, “The Lord says, ‘I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart.’ (Jeremiah 1:5a; NLT) You “will not die, but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.’ (Psalm 118:17; NET).” We decree, Decree, “Abortion will continue to be dealt with state by state, region by region and a grassroots movement of states will stand for righteousness.” God, let the 28 states that will oust abortion begin to become clear, specifically in the northeast. Surprise us! Thank you, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

We are at the beginning of a covenant move of God in the Northeast!

Rebecca Greenwood’s Word for America – Part 1 of 9

A Vision of a Map of the Nation

In my intercession time on April 23rd, the Lord brought a clear vision of the United States of America. Over the following week I had been in intercession concerning the vision, and on the morning of the National Day of Prayer, May 2, I felt the Lord prompting me to share what He revealed in order for the Church and the intercessors to pray in agreement. After submitting the word to trusted friends and prophetic voices, I was encouraged to share this vision publicly, as I strongly believe this word is an invitation for intercession.

In this vision, I saw Jesus standing above a large map of the nation. He was intentionally highlighting specific regions throughout the nation by positioning Himself above the regions that He began to speak to me about. He was maneuvering throughout the land with the intent of highlighting these regions and speaking His purposes for what He continued to call, “The five-year period of grace and awakening.”

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Prayer for America’s prophetic voices. Say, “The prophets of God will be heard across this land.”
  • Declare, “The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous.” (Psalm 19:9; NIV)
  • Ask the Lord to stir up faith in His Bride and prepare the Church for this next five-year season.
  • Cry out for awakening. Do not be silent now. As in a natural transition into birth, press in! Pray in your heavenly language and pray with fervency.
  • Ask the Lord to speak to His children in dreams and visions. Ask Him to provide the interpretations, also.

A prayer you can pray:

God, what an exciting season. To hear Becca say that You gave her this vision on the National Day of prayer is so encouraging. Your saints were praying in one accord across the land for this nation and its future, and You answered. We need the prophets. We bless them with even more clarity to hear the Word of the Lord and to understand what they are seeing in dreams and visions. Let them not be afraid to speak what they are seeing and hearing. The prophets of God will be heard across this land. Let them help us move forward. Build in many states and areas on the foundation the apostles and prophets are laying in regions, as they obey Your Word to them. Let the fear of the Lord fall on those that hear them. “The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous.” (Psalm 19:9; NIV) Give the Church ears to hear and faith to act! Let Your awakening come now to these shores and the islands of the sea. Even in Puerto Rico, Lord. Let not one region be left out! Answer all the years of prayers. Tip over the bowls! Increase dreams and visions. Increase interpretations. Loose our tongues to pray, prophecy, decree, declare, and evangelize as in the book of Acts! Let there be nowhere that Your people are not declaring Your Word. Kingdom of God, come in America!

Today’s decree:

The United States is in a five-year period of grace and awakening!

Transition Series – Wrapping it All Up

I want to move forward in faith and I want to move forward in the confidence that I am doing what God says. I am not talking about getting so super spiritual that I need Him to show me which head of lettuce to buy. I am talking about life decisions. I’m talking about those major intersections in your life that will cause your destiny to move one way or another. Let’s ask the Lord to give us the ability to do the things that we have been talking about and to process well. Here they are again:

  • Be flexible
  • Don’t trust your emotions
  • Don’t let preconceived notions mess up the process
  • Get back to the basics and read your Bible
  • Worship
  • Be led by the Spirit
  • Use a multitude of wise counselors
  • When in doubt, don’t

“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.’” (Isaiah 30:15; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • One more time, bring all your emotions before the Lord, especially where you are confronting a very difficult or key decision. Ask God to replace them with His peace and rest.
  • Repent of any preconceived notions.
  • Pray for a heart that will be flexible to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  • Stay rooted and grounded in His love and His Word.
  • Ask Him for wisdom, for He says He will give it to all who ask Him for it.
  • Press in for the leading of the Holy Spirit and spiritual maturity.
  • Pray for those wise counselors to come and help you.
  • Give everything to God and worship Him!

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we pray for those who are struggling with their emotions. Give us personal moral integrity, though no one may know but us, to say, “I’m going to do what the Lord says, regardless of how I feel.” Thank you for showing us Your will as we make that decision. Make us flexible. Do not let us be controlled by preconceived ideas. Let us know when to factor in wisdom and all You have taught us. Thank you for the common sense You have given us, but show us when to turn and go a different way, because You want to do something different in our lives at this point. Give us that little check that we need. Help us to get in touch with that lack of peace when we’re about to go in a direction that isn’t right for us. Let us settle the issue once and for all that we are not going to do anything of significance in our lives until we know what You are saying. We pray that we would be Word people. Let us so honor Your Word that You would find it easy to talk to us. May we be such worshippers that we would hear easily and mature to the point where we are led by Your Spirit, at times without even realizing it. Let it be normal for us. Let us discern between Holy-Spirit-given peace and emotional peace. Help us to make wise decisions. We are moving into a season where courses are changing. There are new directions for many. There are things you are doing in this nation. You are doing new things. Let us find the new season exciting and meaningful, not frustrating. Give us peace and move in that peace. Let the winds of change blow, and let us bend with the wind, precious Jesus. How I love You! Amen.

Today’s decree:
God is getting His Body ready for the winds of change He is orchestrating in the nation!

Transition Series – Gather a Multitude of Counselors

Both Proverbs 11:14 and 15:22 talk about a multitude of counselors providing safety as we plan our lives. Be careful with casual friends as your counselors. Nine times out of ten, my “friends” tell me what I want to hear, whether it is right or not. The best of my friends will give me wise counsel, even when it’s not what I want to hear. Chuck Pierce is one of them. In these passages, the Lord says “multitude of counselors”. Don’t just get one or two, especially when you are getting conflicting opinions. If I had only listened to my dad and my brother, I would never have gone to Colorado Springs, which was a key place for what God was working out for my future.

If you can’t get ahold of the Lord’s leading yourself, and there are conflicting voices, get wise counselors. If you find wise counselors, you need to trust them. However, if any of them give you counsel that violates God’s Word or moves you away from intimacy with Him or causes you to lose your pace, or causes confusion, then you need to reject their counsel. At the very least, you need to back up. I have had times in my life where I have received very conflicting advice from counselors I trust. What do I do? I put the brakes on. I say, “Lord, I’m not going to move now until You do something to break this open to show me overwhelmingly what I am supposed to do.” This is how I make my life decisions. When in doubt, don’t.

“Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established.” (Proverbs 15:22; NKJV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Tell the Lord you are going to stop and do nothing until you hear clearly from Him how to move forward. That is not unbelief. It is a wise decision and God will honor it.
  • Rest until you feel faith arise in you, then press in to hear Him.
  • Ask God who of your very best and most trusted friends can provide you with wise counsel. Talk with only those about your situation and see what they say.
  • Once you know He has said it, do whatever He says in faith.
  • Pray that those who govern us will be provided with wise counselors. Pray this for President Trump and each of his cabinet members who are constantly challenged by those that oppose them. They are embroiled in controversy, grilled by other government leaders, often misrepresented by the media, and judged in the court of public opinion. They need wisdom to know what to say and what to do.

A prayer you can pray:

God, I’m not going to move in confusion and I’m not going to guess what I should be doing right now. You’re big enough to show me what to do. I’m confused and I’m getting to that emotional place. I’m getting conflicting reports. So, I’m just going to stop here and not do anything until You show me clearly what I’m supposed to do. Thank you for sending me wise counselors, those mature friends of mine who know You well and hear You clearly. Let them help me hear You in this current situation I face. President Trump needs wise, godly counselors around him, as well. Provide the very best of them, even if he doesn’t even know them right now. Make a way for them to connect. Do the same for his cabinet members. It seems like they are all under a severe attack. That has to be so hard emotionally, when they are questioned, doubted and under duress every single day over every single decision they make. They are embroiled in controversy, grilled by other government leaders, often misrepresented by the media, and judged in the court of public opinion. They need wisdom to know what to say and what to do. Send prophets of God and God-fearing, mature and trusted men and women their way to help them know how to navigate their way through the emotional minefields, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Let the wise counselors arise and help those who lead and govern us hear the Spirit of the Lord!

Transition Series – Be Led by the Spirit

In Romans 8, it says that we are children of God and are all heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. “Children” there is “teknon”. It’s the word for “teenager”. As children in the Lord, we have all the rights of scripture and all the promises of God. Then, He makes a profound statement. He says, “Those that are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.” “Sons” there is “huios” (wee-os)—spiritual sons and daughters, fully matured. He’s saying that we come to a point in time where we not only walk in the provisions and the covenant blessings of salvation, but we are so mature in our walk that we can be trusted to be led by the Spirit.

We are all supposed to be led by the Spirit. However, the more you walk with the Lord and the more you mature, that gets easier. I think every Believer can be led by the Spirit, but I remember the days when I would try to hear from God and it would seem so confusing. It gets easier the older I get. I can discern the voice of the Lord. There are times I can’t even tell you how I know. I’ll have a question or a challenge and I don’t have weeks or days to pray about it. Suddenly, I just know what to do. My spirit is in tune with His and I can be led by the Spirit. I cannot tell you how I know it. I just know it.

“You will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way. Follow it, whether it turns to the right or to the left.’” (Isaiah 20:21; GWT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Are you still struggling to hear His leading and direction? Read the entirety of Romans 8 and remember who and Whose you are!
  • The only way to get to this place of maturity is to spend time with Him in prayer and to fill yourself with His Word. Tell Him you want an increased desire for both!
  • Instead of wondering about how crazy the world’s gotten, how extreme things are, ponder them together with the Lord. Let Him give you His perspective and heart. Let Holy Spirit lead your intercession.
  • Not sure what to do about something? Specifically ask the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct you, as you seek Him.
  • Ask God to fill this land with Believers filled with faith, actively seeking and being led by the Holy Spirit. That will change a nation!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, when all around seems like sinking sand and we do not know where to go, what to do, what to say, we need the leading, guiding, and direction of Your Holy Spirit. We must grow up into all things in Christ Jesus. Your Word tells us that all creation is longing for the revealing of the sons of God. Everything is watching to see what the world will look like once Your Church realizes who they are in You! The lost will be saved, healed and delivered. The downtrodden will be encouraged. Those oppressed of the devil will be free! Those impoverished will have all their needs met in Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit-downloaded solutions to challenging social problems will be revealed. We will see a Spirit-led social justice movement, ending abortion and human trafficking, among other things. People will come to know who it is that God created them to be, as they come to know Him. The Body of Christ will grow up into all things in Christ Jesus and that maturity will bring an expansion of God’s Kingdom to the earth, such as has not been seen since the Church was birthed in the Book of Acts. This is not pie-in-the-sky dreaming, Lord. This is what Your Word says! Holy Spirit lead us. Holy Spirit, guide us. We seek Your direction Holy Spirit. Make us mature “sons” of God. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

“For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.” (Romans 8:19; NASB)

Transition Series – Worship Him

This is another simple thing to do in transition—worship Him. Put a CD on or sing your own words; just worship. Sometimes when I need direction, I will just get in my truck and drive with worship on. I’m not really going anywhere. I just need the solitude and the time in His Presence in worship. I build my own prayer CDs (you might use iTunes or another program). I put songs on there they really seem to get me into prayer and keep me there. I will put two or three hours of worship on there. As I listen, you know what? The Lord just draws me into His Presence and begins to speak to me. I don’t hear a voice telling me what to do. I just begin to think His thoughts. I know I’m thinking His thoughts, because they line up with His Word and they are not thoughts I would normally have. His wisdom, His will, and His plans are just transferred to me.

In Proverbs 3:5-6, there’s a word often translated “acknowledge”. But this word in the Hebrew is “yadah”. It is the number one word in the Bible for “intimate knowledge”, as in the relationship between a husband and a wife. It was the word when the Bible says that Adam knew Eve and she brought forth a son. It is experiential and intimate knowledge. So, He is saying in that passage, “If you need direction in all of your ways, in your decisions, “yadah” Me and I will direct your paths. Draw near to Him. It’s not like God is holding out on us until we tell Him how wonderful He is. Worship is not just telling God how great He is because He needs to hear it. It’s communion. God doesn’t need to hear the worship. He needs you.

“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.” (Proverbs 3:5-6; TPT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Put your favorite worship music on. Heart to heart, worship Him.
  • Meditate on Psalm 25:14, “The secret of the Lord is for those that fear him, and he will show them his covenant.” (JUB) “Secret is “cowd” (pronounced “sowed”). It is a word for intimacy. It means a couch or pillow. It literally means “pillow talk”; heart to heart communication. There are things about His covenant with you that He wants to show you.
  • Meditate on this prophetic word: “He is saying to you, ‘If you will take a few minutes today and draw near to Me, I will draw near to you. The intimacy that develops will create the kind of walk with Me that allows Me to speak to you in ways that I can’t speak to you when you are busy and distracted. I’ll show you what to do from this place of intimacy.’”

A prayer you can pray:

[Today, simply worship him and walk through the prayer points above.]

Today’s decree:

God’s worshipping ones will become evident to unbelievers in our communities. Let our intimate walk with Him be obvious, and draw lovesick and empty souls to Him.

Transition Series – Lean Heavily on His Word

When you are going through a time of change, you need to do more of the basics. Read your Bible. It’s not the time to do a study of eschatology or deep doctrinal study. Just go back to the basics. It’s very important to send time in the Word when you are in a decision-making process. Jesus said, “The words I speak to you are spirit and life.” He will cause His words to come alive and speak to you. They will become living words and will lead you. They may lead you directly, or they may simply do something in your heart that will cause you to be able to hear. When you read a verse, it may jump off the page at you. The Word may so feed your spirit and strengthen your inner man that you gain an ability to hear that you didn’t have before.

There’s an interesting verse in John 8:37 where Jesus is being challenged by the Pharisees. He said, “You are trying to kill me, because my word has no place in you.” What it literally says in the Greek is, “You’re trying to kill me, because My word is making no progress in you.” He was trying to feed them and give them enough Word that, if they had accepted it, it would have progressed in them and transformed them. They would have known the will of God. Their mindsets would have changed, and they would have gone the right direction. We kill the process of the Lord in our lives when the Word makes no progress in us. We kill the process of change. We kill transformation and sanctification. We kill revelation.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Oh, fall in love with the Bible all over again. Hold it in your hands and thank God for your Bible—His written, eternal Word.
  • Pray and ask God where to start reading. If you are not sure you are hearing Him clearly, just start reading—John, Mark, and the Psalms are good places to start.
  • If you are in a season of trauma or recovering from such a season, let His Psalms minister to you. Psalm 4, 23, 24, 91, and 145 are great. Read them out loud and let the words wash over your spirit and heal your heart and mind.
  • Our nation is in a violent transitionary period and it needs clear direction. Washington, D.C., leaders need prayer and wisdom. The border situation needs pray. Abortion and the funding of it are being unravelled, so keep interceding and decreeing! Pray passages of scripture over President Trump, his Cabinet members, and those in Congress. If you’re not sure who the key players are, just look at any news source and pray what you see. God wants to intervene in the affairs of men.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I love Your Word! When I am in a troubled place, not sure which way to turn, please don’t let me forget Your Word. You have written words of life in there for me. Lead me to the exact right passages I need today, Holy Spirit. Show me what I need to know about God today. Heal all trauma, doubt, unbelief, and any other thing that would keep me from reading the words of life that are there. Let the Psalms speak healing to me. Let John and Mark and other passages in the New Testament give me hope and faith and boldness. Show me any blocks to hearing You, strengthen my inner man, and give me clear direction. Lord, our nation needs direction, also. We are facing really tough problems with unclear and complicated answers. There’s a lot of fighting between political leaders, so not much is getting done. Give me scripture to use like a sword, powerful words that cut between the desires and thoughts of men, and usher in Your heart and plan. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

“The word of God is a double-edged sword. It will judge the desires and thoughts of our hearts, and we will gain wisdom and direction when it does.”

Honoring Our Mothers

Being a mother is a grace gift of God. Seeing your mom for who she is can be a grace gift, as well. Mothers carry you in the womb and they carry you in their hearts. Regardless of your activities or theirs, you are never far from their thoughts. Mothers who love God pray for you unceasingly. Godly mothers look for ways to bless you, encourage you, teach you, and raise you in the fear and the ways of the Lord. Mother’s Day is the perfect day to pray for your mom in return, bless her, and encourage her. God loves our moms even more than we do. If you are able to, convey God’s love to your mom today.

“Only pay attention and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your grandchildren [impressing these things on their mind and penetrating their heart with these truths.]—” (Deuteronomy 4:9; AMP)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • If your mom is living, Christian or not, bless her.
  • Pray for her well-being and that she will know God intimately.
  • More than any gift you can give, give her a moment of your time. Sit down and visit with her or call her and show her the love of God. Ask if you can pray for her.
  • If you have lost your mom, thank the Lord for her.
  • If you had a challenging mom, forgive her, living or gone. Let your heart heal a little more today.
  • Intercede for your own children and grandchildren, if you are a mom. Bless them and pray for their well-being and salvation. Pray that God introduces Himself to them for the first time, or in a new way. From generation to generation, let’s bless one another.
  • Ask God to minister to those who desire to be moms and have not received the desire of their hearts. Likewise for those moms who have lost a child.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, bless my mother. For all of the sleepless nights and scary moments, joy-filled days, and all mundane ones, bless her. For the prayers she prayed and ways she may have taught me about You, I bless her. As she taught me of You, let me do the same with my offspring. Being a mom is a blessing and a challenge. I forgive any conflict I had with her, and I ask You to forgive me where I may have caused it. Minister to the hearts of the moms who may have lost a child. Comfort all those who have lost a beloved mom. Jesus, heal the broken hearts of all women who wanted to be a mom, but have not seen the desire of their heart come to pass. (If you are a mom with children and/or grandchildren, bless them and intercede for them.) Bless all the mothers, Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

God, bless the mothers of America as they raise their children to know You and Your love for them.

Transition Series – Who Am I?

Over my 25 years of ministry, I have at times thought I was each of the five-fold giftings. I thought I was a youth pastor. In fact, I was convinced of it! At another time, I thought I was a worship minister, then an evangelist, then on to a teacher, a prophet, and an apostle gift to the Body. This confusion came from a lack of identity. I didn’t know me well. Each time, I was content doing the thing I was doing and I was tolerably good at it, I think. Although I may not have been the best to ask about that. Finally, the Lord showed me that He was trying to put a little of this in me and a little of that in me, and give me lots of experience and wisdom. If I had not come to that understanding, I would be in the wrong ministry today.

When I shifted roles, I had some people tell me I was missing God. They were sure what I was, because they needed the gift they saw in me. But, God had moved me on to the next training season. With each change, I was convinced that now we were getting somewhere and I was finally moving into my true calling. We were all dealing with preconceived notions. This is exactly what kept the Jews from accepting Jesus when He came. They thought, “He’s supposed to look like this, and be like this, and do this, and say this, and be one of us…and on and on.” John the Baptist, and even the disciples, struggled with this. They couldn’t figure out what Jesus was doing, because it didn’t match their theology perfectly. Don’t let your preconceived notions keep you from hearing clearly from God.

“The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Ask the Lord to help you rest in the season of life you are in. If He has a change in mind for you, when He is ready, He will move you on.
  • If you are in the middle of a transition affecting your life role in some regard, ask Him for clarity and rest. Shut out every voice other than His. Where is His peace, Where is His grace? Where are the open doors?
  • Sit and talk to God about your preconceived notions. If He moves in evangelism in a way you didn’t expect or using people you don’t expect, are You going to recognize it? Will you be okay with it?
  • Intercede for the Body of Christ, regarding our corporate preconceived notions. These look like denominational beliefs, moral codes, which may not line up with the Bible, pet projects, eschatology, how the book of the Revelation plays out, and many other things. Ask God to line us all up with His Word, first.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, who am I? Maybe I don’t need the full answer to that right now, so can You help me to rest in the place you currently have me? I want to be able to walk in the Hebrews 4 Rest of God, feeling loved by You and stable in my ways. I can’t please people and go every which way they would have me go. I only want what You want for me, right now. As I move into any new path or life course, help me keep my eyes fixed on You. I don’t want to be swayed by what others think I should be doing. Humans have a bad habit of pigeon-holing each other into places where it appears we are gifted. There are times You are revealing new gifts in us, new talents we didn’t even know we had, but You knew. Keep me from falling prey to man-pleasing. Help me see the open and shut doors in front of me. Grace me to embrace new skills and environments and mantles. I want my life to glorify You! Keep me from preconceived notions about how You move and about what the Word says is going to happen in the earth. Keep Your Bride ready, and willing, and watchful for the way You are freshly moving. Keep us in the Word, but don’t let us lock ourselves into mindsets where we could miss Your current movement in the earth, Jesus. Amen.

Today’s decree:

Men think God does things a certain way, but He is moving in new ways! Know who you are in this season and watch carefully for how He is revealing Himself to us now!
