Violent Protests

A peaceful transition of power is America’s tradition and strength. But, immediately following the announcement that Trump had won the election, protests broke out nationwide, primarily on college campuses. This has continued each night since. The protests are now turning into violent riots in some parts of the country. Protests are occurring in Seattle, Miami, Philadelphia, New York City, Los Angeles, Portland, OR, and Columbus, OH, among other places.  Police have remained in control of the violence, so far. But God! God is able to reverse the violence. He is able to bring the shalom of God, peace and wholeness, to our nation if we will pray!

“”How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!'” (Isaiah 52:7; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Proclaim that Jesus would extend His peace, the shalom of God, into our streets and into our cities all across the nation. Pray specifically over the cities mentioned above.
  • Pray for the safety of the students who are out in the streets. These are our nation’s sons and daughters; our nation’s future. Speak over them: “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14; NIV)
  • Ask the Lord to protect our law enforcement. Ask God to grant them wisdom in the way they address the violence, so that it is diminished and not increased.
  • Command the spirit of violence and anarchy behind this movement to cease and desist! Boldly command the conflict and chaos to dissipate!

A prayer you can pray:

Jesus, we thank You that You are the Prince of Peace, the Shalom of God! Lord, many of our major cities across the nation need this Peace right now. (Pray for the cities mentioned above.) We pray specifically for the safety of the students caught up in these protests. We pray you would keep our nation’s sons and daughters safe from all harm. Protect our law enforcement officers, as well, Father. Help them to have wisdom from above as they decide how to stop and dispel the violence. Let it be just enough and not an iota more than is necessary. We command the spirit of violence and anarchy that is attempting to stir up conflict and chaos to BE STILL, In Jesus’ name! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Prince of Peace, Jesus, will give us peace and dispel the violence over America!

Mercy Received

As I prayed during this election cycle, I experienced more sovereign intervention (bringing both assignments and confirmations) than I have received during any other election. Angelic visitations, dreams, prophetic words, strategies, and Holy Spirit-inspired prayers gave me much confidence that God was willing to give us mercy, not judgment. In spite of these occurrences, however, Election Day was difficult. As I interceded and stood in faith, trusting that others and I had not “missed it” in our interpretations and assertions, it was emotional. My hope deferred was so great in ’08 that I had to fight off the memories and accompanying fear all day. As the results came in, I wept, knowing that mercy had, indeed, triumphed over judgment.

“No mercy will be shown to those who show no mercy to others. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:13 GWT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship God! Where this nation was deserving of judgement, due to our corporate sin and iniquity, God has sent us mercy, instead.
  • Ask the Lord to break fear and hope-deferred off the Body of Christ from previous election cycles.
  • Ask the Lord to break fear and hope-deferred off people who feel disappointment from this Pray that those who do not know Christ as Savior would be introduced to Him and can find hope in Him and rest for their souls.
  • Pray John 17:21 over the nation as Jesus prayed, “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, I worship You! I praise Your Holy Name! America surely deserved judgement, but You have chosen to hear the intercession of Your people and grant us mercy and one more opportunity to get our governance right! We are so grateful, Father. Please completely break fear and hope-deferred off of the Body of Christ. We should be confident in You, but the enemy has hit us hard in the past and caused us to reel. You are restoring, Father, but there are those in the nation now who are reacting just like we did in 2008. They now feel afraid and disenfranchised. Since we’ve been through this before, we lovingly pray for them that You would quickly heal their hearts, so we can rejoice together at the healing of our nation! Stir us to introduce many to Jesus, so they can find true peace and rest for their souls. Make us one, Father, even as You and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one. Amen.

Today’s decree:

God has given America mercy instead of the judgement we deserved.

Veterans Day

“The hero is the man dedicated to the creation and/or defense of reality-conforming, life-promoting values.” (Andrew Bernstein)

“Better than honor and glory, and History’s iron pen, was the thought of duty done and the love of his fellow-men.” (Richard Watson Gilder)

Our veterans are dear to Americans’ patriotic hearts. We acknowledge their sacrifices and those of their families in times of war. They have marched bravely to the battlefield and mostly won, sometimes lost those battles. However, have you ever realized that these men and women create and defend life-promoting values? Of course, they do! They are fighting for our lives! Today, we celebrate their lives and express our love and gratitude to them!

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (Romans 12:10; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank the Lord for every veteran by name that you know.
  • Pray for all veterans that God would bless them with health and wholeness. Pray that every need they have would be met in Christ Jesus.
  • Intercede for the salvation of these veterans. Pray that the horrors they have seen on the battlefield will not cause them to push God away.
  • Now, go out and do something loving and kind for a veteran today.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, I thank you for (name the veterans you know.) I pray that you would bless them with whole bodies and minds. They often suffer so greatly. Let them know they are loved by You, Lord. We ask that you would present Your Son to them in supernatural ways. Let Your love for them override the pain and mental anguish of battle. Show me how to bless veterans today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We honor those who fight for our freedom and our lives—our nation’s veterans!

Healing a Nation’s Wounds

Our recent election revealed a deep divide in America. It’s not that we didn’t know there was one, but I don’t think we knew how deep it was. The ideologies of our citizenry are just about split 50-50 between those that consider themselves liberals and those that think of themselves as conservatives. Some of our beliefs are extreme opposites, such as those who believe in abortion on demand and those who choose life for mothers and the new lives within them. We have our thought-differences, however, there are likely more things we agree on! Most of all, we are a nation that primarily agrees that we should all find ways to get along, help each other, express kindness to each other, and respect one another’s uniqueness. Doesn’t that sound just like Jesus?

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Colossians 3:12; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Repent if you are harboring any ill will, anger or suspicion toward anyone, because they have a belief system different from yours. Jesus loves them.
  • Ask the Lord to heal this divided nation.
  • Pray for at least one person you know who thinks exactly the opposite of you. If they aren’t born again, pray for their salvation. Now, pray that Jesus will show you how to love them.
  • Go out of your way today to do something Christ-like for someone you don’t agree with philosophically. Get to know them deeper as a person and see if your life isn’t enriched by knowing them better.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, the elections have revealed hate and fear among the people of the United States. Our differences are more glaring than I can ever remember! We seem to be getting further and further apart, but I know that is not Your will for us. Heal our divided nation, Lord! Please forgive me when I get angry with or even reject others when they don’t believe what I believe. How can I show them the love of Christ? Teach me how to love those who are polar opposites to me. Deal with my fear and anger. Show me where these emotions are rooted in me or in my family line. I want to live as Colossians 3:12 commands us. In Jesus’ healing Name I pray. Amen.

Today’s decree:

God will heal the nation’s great divide!

Where Does Your Trust Lie?

So, we have a new President of the United States of America. From Senators on down to local government officials, men and women will begin to take their places. We have prayed and interceded, acted and voted. It is now time to worship. Regardless of who won the race last night, we must refocus our attention on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords; our God in whom we can always trust! His promises to us are sure. His personality is unchanging and we can put our full trust in Him!

“Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; the Lord raises up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous; the Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, but He thwarts the way of the wicked.” (Psalms 146:3-7-9; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Worship the Lord using the passage of scripture from Psalm 146. Put Him right at the center of your view today.
  • On the basis of total trust in the One we love and serve, may we now pray for our new President. Ask the Lord to grant them wisdom from above, humility, and boldness to lead this great nation.
  • Lift up the needs of our nation to the Lord: justice for the oppressed, food for the hungry, jobs for the jobless, homes for the homeless, unrighteous laws removed and righteous ones put in place, Judges that uphold the Constitution, and anything else the Lord lays on your heart.
  • Intercede for their cabinet choices, our Senators, Representatives, and state and local officials as they prepare to begin a new session.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we worship You today! We list up Your holy Name! You have not left your throne of authority and you are forever watching over us! Thank you! We pray for the new President we have chosen. We ask You to grant them Your grace and wisdom to govern with righteous judgement. Lord, grant them a humble boldness to make the decisions the nation needs right now. We pray for the many needs of our people. Grant creative solutions to our leaders, Lord. We lift up our Senators, Representatives, state and local officials (name them) and ask the same for them. In Jesus’ most precious name, amen.

Today’s decree:

The Lord is our Helper and one and only God! Worthy of our worship, He is forever our righteous ruler, giver of justice and the one who leads our leaders!

Election Day

November 8, 2016, is a pivotal day in American history and clearly represents a national “time of need” for mercy & grace! It was a privilege to be on the recent “Retrace The Covenant” Prayer Team, visiting 7 cities in 7 days. As we entered Faneuil Hall in Boston, it was apparent we had stepped into a place where, at a previous pivotal moment in the American story, those present faced a “time of need” for Divine help, mercy and grace. It was in Faneuil Hall that the first rumblings of the American Revolution were felt. Faneuil Hall is known as the Cradle of Liberty. When the team entered the Hall, we were arrested with the sense that we were connecting with history, while reaching forward into America’s future, and releasing words of hope, grace and mercy. It’s clear those that were there in the 1700’s were people of unprecedented courage and confidence. It is now our turn to stand on the stage of the American story at a pivotal moment, and to do so with unprecedented courage and confidence! As ambassadors of The King, as guardians over the garden we call The United States of America, and as the courageous, confidence-filled, Church of Jesus Christ, we say “America’s best days are ahead of her!” (Hope Taylor)

“Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we might find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank the Lord for those who had the boldness to stand up against tyranny in a different age, who asked God for Divine help and mercy and then took action to birth our nation.
  • Ask God to raise up and strengthen a new generation of nation-builders—His people who will pray and act beyond today, election day, to rebuild America from the inside out.
  • Pray that the Ekklesia will legislate with their vote today!
  • Intercede with passion for the America you believe is God’s desire. Let the Word of God lead you.
  • Pray for the people of God, the Ekklesia, the Church, to be everything we should be in this hour—Holy Spirit-filled expanders of the Kingdom of God in America and to the ends of earth.

A prayer you can pray:

Father we thank you for our founding fathers, many of whom knew You and served You. We thank You for their holy boldness, who in confidence and grace, rejected the tyranny of Britain and chose to establish a nation that would look to You for guidance and direction, and honor You and Your Word. Let this be a generation of Believers like that one. May we be bold and courageous and stand against the enemy’s plans to secularize America. Let us vote in unprecedented numbers, may we pray like never before, and may we walk out our future as a people who are involved in the affairs of men, expanding Your Kingdom in this nation wherever we go! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Church in America is courageous, confident and brave, and we believe America’s best days are ahead of her!

The Devastation of Our Nation

One of the most devastating occurrences in America in our lifetimes, ranking up with The Supreme Court’s decisions of Roe vs. Wade and Engel vs. Vitale (the removal of prayer from schools), was the election of Barack Obama. I gave a strong warning about what would happen to our nation if he was elected. Sadly, it has all come to pass: a continued liberalization and empowerment of the judicial system in America; a weakened economy (our national debt has doubled in 7 years to $19 TRILLION!); further moral deterioration, along with a rebellion to and mockery of God (does anyone remember the White House lit up in the colors of the LGBT movement after marriage was re-defined by the Supreme Court? If that wasn’t an “in your face” to God and those of us who “cling to their God, guns and religion” by the man who mockingly said it, I don’t know what could ever be!); increased violence; a weakened position in the world, along with a weakened military; the advance of radical Islamist terrorism; a setback in race relations; and more. I rejoice that our nation has been able to elect our first black president. I am deeply saddened, however, that it was Barack Obama. The damage has been so great that America is now one president away from a complete transformation to secularism, a loss of our Judeo-Christian foundation, the loss of our position as the stabilizing force for good in the earth, and the leading voice of the gospel to all the world.

“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’” (1 Samuel 16:7; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Repent for the doors of iniquity opened by President Barack Obama, his Cabinet and this Supreme Court. Repent of the blatant mockery of God that has been expressed in this administration. Command the doors of iniquity SHUT!
  • Intercede and ask the Lord to grant America mercy!
  • Cry out to God to save us from a further slide down a secular humanistic path that rejects the only One who can save us from our sins—personal and national.
  • Ask the Lord to give us a President that will restore our position as a stabilizing force for good in the earth. Ask for a restoration of our ability to worship as fully as we want, to proclaim the Word of God in the marketplace, to speak truth in love, and to take the Gospel of the Kingdom to every nation on the earth from these shores!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we repent on behalf of this governmental administration under Barack Hussein Obama. He has trampled morality and decency, and openly mocked and blasphemed Your Name. Forgive our nation for electing him. We ask for mercy, Lord, for You said that mercy triumphs over judgement, and it is judgement we surely deserve. Please stop this slide into godlessness that we are on! We say, “We desire You, Lord! Visit us again!” Give us a new President tomorrow that will reverse this secular course. Give us a President tomorrow that can be led by You, will reverse legislation that is displeasing to You, and will appoint Supreme Court Judges that will honor the Constitution and judge with righteous judgement. Give us a President that will uphold the first amendment, allowing us true freedom of worship, and may the Gospel go forth across this nation and to the ends of the earth because of our choice! We look to You, Jesus, to save us! Amen.

Today’s decree:

The Lord will stir His people to elect a man of His own choosing, one whose heart He can touch and who will govern the United States of America in a God-honoring way.

The Family Foundation

By 1619, after the rigors and subsequent loss of many lives in the early years of the Jamestown settlement, the leadership began recruiting women to become wives and start families in order to establish a permanent colony. They recognized that strong families are foundational to a successful society. These early families became a crucial foundation to the forming of first a permanent colony and ultimately into the establishment of these United States. Many descendants from these early families became patriots, fighters, and builders in the birthing of a nation with Kingdom foundations of Family, Church and Government at her core. (Jacquie Tyre)

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Repent for the sins of America arising from decisions and laws made at the government level, which are affecting our families, our children and our grandchildren.
  • The first foundation God laid for humans on the earth was that of marriage. Family soon followed. Thank Him for your family, especially if your family was a strong and loving one.
  • Not all families are strong with godly roots. Pray for your family members if yours was built on a cracked and broken foundation. Repent of iniquitous patterns and ask the Lord to reverse them in your family line. Intercede for other families, as well.
  • Ask the Lord to give us government leaders in this election cycle that will act to reverse gay marriage, abortion and other laws that erode the family structure.
  • Make declarations that God will give Divine and wise strategies to our new President, Legislators and Judges to make laws that support and benefit strong marriages and families.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we are thankful for the institutions of marriage and family. We thank You for families that are God-fearing and strong, being an example of You and Your love for us as the family of God. Grant them even more grace in these chaotic times. We intercede for families that are broken. Heal our wounded families, Lord. Heal the effects on our hearts from growing up in dysfunctional families. We forgive those in our families who have sinned against us. Turn things around for us, Father. We ask you for a President, Senators, Representatives and Judges that will guard marriage and pass laws that strengthen our nation’s families! We pray for legislation and court decisions that bless and protect our families and family structures as You designed them to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

God and His angels will fight with us so that marriage and families will remain the covenant bedrock of our society in the United States of America!

Covenant Roots – Jamestown

From the very early days of the first permanent settlement at Jamestown the core elements of Government, Ekklesia, and Family were laid into the foundation of what would become the United States of America.  In 1607, Captain John Smith, on the governing council, and Rev. Robert Hunt, the settlement pastor, co-labored in the establishing of the settlement at Jamestown. In 1619 the emphasis on family came to the forefront in Jamestown. That same year, the newly appointed Governor Yeardley called for the first representative legislative assembly. This was the beginning of representative government in what is now the United States of America. (Jacquie Tyre)

“Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.” (Luke 6:47-48; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Close your eyes and think about what a strong foundation looks like. The building you are sitting in likely has a strong, immovable foundation. Ponder the foundation of a new nation that Capt. John Smith and the Rev. Robert Hunt were laying.
  • We are looking to repair the national foundation our forefathers laid. Pray for a strong family foundation, a strong Ekklesia (Church who spiritually legislates Kingdom principles in the earth), and a God-honoring government for our nation right now!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, with thanksgiving we remember the grace, strength, wisdom, and courage of our forefathers who followed the council of Your Word in laying a strong foundation based upon covenant truths of faith, family, and righteous government upon which our nation has been built. We appeal to You Sovereign Lord for forgiveness over our nation where we have forsaken the ancient paths and plead for mercy that the purposes for which You ordained this nation to be as a “city set upon a hill,” from whose shores “the Gospel shall go forth to not only this New World but the entire world.”  Lord, we declare that according to Your divine purposes, the restoration of Biblical Marriage, the engagement of Ekklesia in matters of life and peace, and the preservation of Representative Legislative Government be established in these United States of America for Your glory and the advancement of the Gospel of the Kingdom in Jesus name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We re-lay the “God Foundations” of our nation today!

Each Doing Their Part

The Retracing the Covenant Tour was birthed from a place of unity. There is a synergy that we can tap into when we all do our part from that place of unity. For example, the prophetic word that launched the Tour was given at a Glory of Zion meeting by Chuck Pierce. It was received and embraced by Dutch Sheets. He declared that we would go as an army— some would go and some would send, but we would all pray. Many individuals and prayer networks have been praying at key sites throughout this year, reclaiming our nation for the Lord. The team itself tapped into some amazing unity, but in addition, thanks to social media, we had a sense of the many who were “going” with us. One such time, we were praying in a circle besides the National Monument of the Forefathers. I had received a text from 3 intercessors who had been praying for us the night before and saw us united and singing the Doxology in that very spot. I shared that and we sang, and one of the men saw angels being released throughout the nation. Thank you for doing your part for the tour! (Terri Brown)

“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” (Romans 12:4-5; ESV) “That together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:6; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank the Lord for the unity that is growing in the Church in America. Many diverse Christian groups are praying together for the future of America.
  • Intercede that this unity is just a beginning and will grow and mature in years to come. Pray it will not dissipate after the elections.
  • Ask the Lord what your part is now and going forward to expand the influence of Hs Kingdom in the earth.
  • Pray specifically for Dutch Sheets and the Retrace the Covenant Team members, that God will grace them with rest and continued power in prayer.

A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we have seen that you are increasing unity in the Body of Christ. Many Believers across many Christian backgrounds are seeking You with great passion, so desirous of change in the nation—a turning of hearts to you. We want laws that are God-honoring and we must turn the enemy back at the gate! Let the unity we are seeing now extend past the elections, as the elections are only a beginning to get us where this nation needs to go. Show me, Lord, what you want me to pray and do going forward. We also pray that You would refresh and encourage Dutch Sheets and his team. May their prayers continue to have power in this nation. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Today’s decree:

Each Believer doing our part to pray for the future of our nation in humble unity with one another will result in God’s will being done in America!

Terri Brown and her husband Jack pastor The Table in Colorado Springs, CO, among being a leader in the national prayer movement.
