PRAY IN UNITY

Day 40 – Election Day!

Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10; NHEB)

Voting is a spiritual act! It is the most practical act of stewarding the government sphere of God’s creation that we can make. God looked upon his creation, said that it was good, and assigned Adam the responsibility to steward His creation. The problem with the typical American Christian is that we have been convinced that government/politics is secular and we are not supposed to discuss these issues in church.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” is how Jesus taught the disciples to pray, showing them we should seek God’s will, His values, His government, here on earth, just like it is in heaven. A common phrase in our culture is, “you can’t legislate morality,” yet our government makes decisions that affect life and death, give the ability to express our religious preferences, punish criminals, guide the treatment of the foreigner, and many other similar matters. All are moral decisions that could be affected by our spiritual act of voting for candidates that best reflect God’s values.

We don’t always have the choice of a Christian candidate, but we should always understand the positions of the candidates and the parties they represent.

The Church will have the government it deserves. If the Church stays home on Election Day and allows evil people to vote in evil candidates, then we will have an evil government. Voting is a spiritual act of stewardship. Go out today, understand your candidates, pray, and then VOTE!

Points for Prayer:

Pray that the Church would understand and steward its spiritual obligations to vote.

Pray that the Church would vote in ways to elect quality candidates that reflect God’s values.

Pray that God’s kingdom would come on earth today, just as it is in heaven.

PRAY IN UNITY

Day 39 – The Era of Jesus the Evangelist

“Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s steward, and said to him, ‘I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master’s grandson may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table.’” (2 Samuel 9:9-10; NIV)

For many years we have been praying, “I plead Your blood over my sins and over the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America.” I actually believe that these things are possibly converging – the ending abortion and sending of revival – with what’s happening at the Supreme Court. We can’t afford to be asleep on the Supreme Court issue.

God has shown me that an “Esther movement” is coming. There will be a strong battle at the Court because the enemy can’t afford to lose Roe v. Wade. There will be a battle over the Senate to confirm a conservative justice. There will be a war over Kavanaugh and whether he can fulfill his purpose and not bend under the demonic pressure to keep Roe in place. We only want him confirmed if he is the one who can do this. We cannot leave things to chance. We can’t allow anything to stop the ending of Roe v. Wade and the saving of the nation.

We called a three-day Esther Fast beginning at sundown on 8/18 and continuing through sundown 8/21. It started immediately after Will Ford’s conference, 818: The Sign, which was a call to intercession to end racism and abortion in America. The Lord is awakening us now to receive decrees and commands. We’re on the verge of a third Great Awakening.

God has told me He is going to show mercy to the youth of America; they are the Mephibosheth generation (see 2 Samuel 9), who will sit at the table of Jesus. I believe we are about to send multitudes into the harvest fields of America and we’re in an incredible moment. This is the season of the Billy Graham mantle falling. We are entering the era of Jesus the Evangelist. It will be a season of mass awakening in America. We are calling 200,000 laborers into the harvest. We are asking for a harvest of the generation that has suffered the most losses from abortion.

Points for Prayer:

Pray this prayer: “I plead Your blood over my sins and over the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America.”

Identificationally repent for the sin of abortion in America. (See Daniel 9:3-19 for an example of identificational repentance.)

Weep and mourn for over 60 million babies have been lost to abortion since Roe v. Wade was decided by the Supreme Court of the United States.1

Call forth the mantle of Jesus the Evangelist upon this generation.

Intercede for the harvest of souls from the generations touched so deeply by abortion in America.

Day 38 – A Season of Breakthrough

God will stand up and break through in their presence. Then they will pass through the gate, going out by it. Their king will pass in front of them with the Lord at their head.” (Micah 2:13; ISV)

Someone had a dream In August 2018 in which the Lord said, “By March 2019, it will be ‘all hands on deck’ in the United States because of the harvest that was beginning.”

I think we are in an incredibly strategic window where we have to pray like we haven’t prayed in quite some time. We have started well, but we need to finish well. I think that God is saying, “All hands on deck!” Good things are happening, but we can’t just assume they will continue. We have to press in until it’s finished. Lord, we thank You for all of these facets of what You are doing for this nation. We thank You for the many people and leaders and efforts that are underway to pray. Everyone has a strategic part.

As we move into this season leading up to the midterms, which we know are so significant, show us how to pray. The deep state is still in place in every branch of government. A Supreme Court Justice needs to be seated. We are asking You to give us the strategy, the wisdom, the understanding, the participation, and everything we need to turn the tide. Let this be the season of breakthrough that is so significant that it cannot be reversed. Let the fulfillment of all the promises come. Let the great breakthrough for this nation that You have already begun come to a crescendo. We pray for President Trump, our Congressional leaders, and our spiritual leaders. Let there be a synergy that takes place where the civil and spiritual leaders would be in agreement in ways that push this nation through, until it returns completely to God’s purposes. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Points for Prayer:

Thank the Lord for everything He is doing and causing to come together for such a time as this – many streams, many prayer efforts, every race working together, old and young.

Ask Him to provide everything the Church needs to work with Him to turn the tide in America.

Ask Him to expose, uproot, and wash away the “deep state” and all of its effects on our nation. Declare, “Purify our government, Lord!”

Call for the promises He has made to reseat our Supreme Court to be fulfilled.

Intercede for the President, Senators, Congressmen, and spiritual leaders. Call for an agreement between them where heaven and civil government align, so God’s purposes can quickly come to pass.

PRAY IN UNITY

Day 37 – The Advancing Prayer Movement

“Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber.” (Joel 2:16; NIV)

Many are not aware that America was birthed in prayer. From the Pilgrims’ prayers as they landed at Plymouth to Benjamin Franklin’s call to prayer for Divine Assistance in the writing of the U. S. Constitution, prayer was a cornerstone of the nation’s founding. Men and women relied on God and sought Him as a part of the course of their daily events.

Prayer has surged in popularity off and on throughout our history, most notably in difficult seasons of time and just before the Great Awakenings and other major moves of God, such as the Jesus Movement of the late 1960s/early 1970s. The prayer movement most recently enjoyed a surge in the 1990s when prayer activities, such as the formation of numerous prayer groups in churches, prayer walking, prayer driving, prayer journeys, houses of prayer, and prayer-saturated churches, became the norm. However, the tide was moving out again in this decade. Long-time prayer warriors were growing weary, and the next generation did not seem to have the fire of their parents and grandparents.

Prior to the 2016 elections, God gave me a vision for an Appeal to Heaven Movement that would sweep a nation into prayer once again. We began to do Appeal to Heaven conferences across the nation, with an intent to go to all 50 states if need be, to ignite passion for prayer for national revival. Many prayer groups and prayer ministries were renewed. Prayer has continued to gain momentum, and a new unity across prayer ministries has come into being. God loves unity, and we have begun to see the effects of our unified prayer! Also, the Appeal to Heaven flag started to show up everywhere, including in government offices. It was even positioned behind President Trump when he gave one of his first speeches in office!

We must keep the fire of prayer going. We have made a shift, but America is not out of the woods yet! Government leaders are counting on us to keep praying! They have told me they can feel the difference when the church is praying and when it is not! Pray, Church, pray!

Points for Prayer:

Thank the Lord that America was founded in prayer and that Christ-honoring prayer is in the fabric of who we are as a nation.

Ask the Lord to stir passion for prayer up in you at a greater level.

Pray for the nation and its leaders today. You can go to whitehouse.gov, senate.gov, house.gov, supremecourt.gov, or many other government websites at the federal, state and local level to get information for prayer.

Worship the Lord over America. Worship and intercession go hand in hand.

Ask the Lord how to better connect with prayer groups at the local and national level. Start a group if there are none in your church and/or community.

Use Joel 2:16 and call for the intercessors in the United States to rise up!

Day 36 – Compassion That Compels Our Intercession

“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:4-5; BSB)

We were never created to live as snarling wolves, destroying others in our path. We were created in the image of the God of the universe who gave His only begotten Son even for those who would despise and reject Him.

Considering the needs and interests of others before ourselves does not come naturally. This attitude is only birthed through prayer and a Spirit-empowered, unconditional love of Christ, developed through a consistent relationship with Him.

Paul addressed this issue when writing to the church in Galatia. These words would also apply to political parties, governmental leaders, media, and anyone who struggles with showing compassion and kindness toward others:

The entire Law is fulfilled in a single decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out, or you will be consumed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh . . . (Galatians 5:14–16 BSB)

With a conviction based upon the Word of God, let us unite in prayer together.

Points for Prayer:

Sovereign God, break the cycles of resentment, revenge, and racism so that relationships are restored in homes/families, churches, communities, and the nation as a whole. (Matthew 6:9–14)

Christ the Anointed One, release a reconciling power in the midst of national conflict, revealing God’s desire to make us one and use His people to be agents of healing and change, social justice and peace. (2 Corinthians 5:17–19)

Holy Spirit, enable us to break patterns of poverty in our communities, fulfilling Christ’s call to act with compassion and persistence to eradicate deficiency and disease through meeting the basic needs of food, shelter, and health care, for the disenfranchised, whether immigrant, refugee, or citizen. (Matthew 25:34–40)

Praise God for open doors to be His hands extended beyond the prayer closet or church walls; then move forward with action that puts feet to our faith. (James 2:14–17)

Day 35 – Awakening His Beautiful Bride

“I know your reputation as a live and active church, but you are dead. Now wake up! Strengthen what little remains—for even what is left is at the point of death. Your deeds are far from right in the sight of God. Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly and turn to me again.” (Revelation 3:1b-3a; TLB)

George Barna has given us some shocking statistics on the church in America. Due to a number of factors, Barna considers 48% of American adults to be in a “post-Christian” state and 45% to be completely unchurched.1

There is a greater concern: 55% of Americans believe that you can get to heaven by doing good works.2 This ideology leaves Christ completely out of the picture. Where is the need for a Savior if we can get to heaven without Him? Is living forever the goal or is an eternal relationship with our loving Father the goal? What does it mean to be a Christian? All of these questions are raised by that one response alone.

If the Church is God’s representative on the earth and if that representation is to love and reflect Him, enforcing and expanding God’s Kingdom on the earth, then we are in trouble. The American Church is generally anemic, weak, and uneducated in God’s ways.

Yes, there is a remnant! It is small, but it is noteworthy! These largely evangelical and charismatic Believers “get it.” They prayed. They voted. They shifted a nation. They are praying some more! Some are planning to run for government offices from the local to the national level. They are impacting the realms of influence God has placed them in—family, education, business, religion, government, media, and arts and entertainment.

We must pray for the rest to awaken to God’s Truth and their purpose in the earth!

Points for Prayer:

Thank the Lord for His beautiful Bride!

Call for God to shake the Church awake! Cry out over her, “Wake up, Church! Wake up!”

Intercede that Believers would fully recognize their ability to greatly impact culture if we all pray and work together in obedience to God and His Word.

Pray a blessing over those Christians who are already out there making a difference. Pray that nothing would be able to hinder them.

Day 34 – What is our Responsibility?

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” (Revelation 12:11; NASB)

As opposition to all things of God increases around us, what are we to do?  As the church, you and I have several acute active responsibilities.

John 17:23 gives a clear call to become perfectly one so that the world may know the Father sent Jesus and loved them even as Jesus is loved.

Furthermore, we must speak up, stand up and show up – not in a militant or self-righteous way. His abundant love and grace towards one another must be our constant manner and our consistent language. Speak the truth but always in love—the greatest motive (see 1 Corinthians 13:13).

“Silence in the face of evil is Evil itself; God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak and not to act is to act.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Points for prayer:

To become perfectly one: be a witness to the world. (John 17: 23)

To show up: do not become weary or give up. (Galatians 6: 9)

To stand up: perfect love drives out fear. (I John 4: 18)

To speak up in culture: they overcame by blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. (Revelation 12: 11)

Day 33 – Will We Trust?

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.” (Psalm 56:3-4a; ESV)

Do you ever feel anxiety at the swirling issues in our nation, threats of wars and political conflict in the world, and personal lives around us in peril? It may seem that evil has the last word of the day. This year, I have been reminded of the final outcome from the end of the book of Job. After all the utter loss he endured, followed by restoration that was above and beyond, Job responded to the Lord. In chapter 42:2, Job says, “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”

As the Father lays our nation, leaders, and individuals on our hearts and minds for intercession, we must pray, then simply be still—trust and know. The firmness of Psalm 46:10 always instructs, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Selah!

Points for Prayer:

Remember, the Lord cannot be thwarted by anything or anyone.

Remember, the Lord will be exalted regardless of anything or anyone in our nation.

Remember, the Lord will be victorious despite anything or anyone in all of the earth.

Day 32 – Refreshing Our Focus

Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God’s throne.”  (Hebrews 12:2; GNT)

In any given day, there can be moments when all the constant noise in the battle for good and evil can seem overwhelming. In the desire to be informed even for prayer and intercession, I sometimes find my focus doesn’t engage properly. I allow my attention to begin on the problem rather than the Lord Himself, the Problem Solver. I picture myself backing up and starting anew where there is great peace and power as I remember to “enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise” (Psalm 100:4). This refocused entry of praise and thankfulness before the great I Am, prevents despair, as I later pray the petitions and deep needs. The Lord is never surprised by the happenings in our days. For focus, I like to spend time with passages of Isaiah in the chapters of the 40s – there are so many references to the supremacy of the Lord. One example is Isaiah 45:6b, “I am the Lord, and there is no other.”

Points for prayer:

Enter the Lord’s presence with thanksgiving!

Linger in praise to the Lord.

Meditate on who the Lord really is.

Day 31 – Where is the LOVE?

“A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35; NIV)

When I was 18 and in college, I became part of the LOA Club. LOA stood for “Love One Another.” We were a diverse group, and the beauty was we were all believers and committed to one another. The newbie freshman relished the support from the seniors on campus. John 13:34-35, our Biblical mandate, was put to practice and memory.

Friends, in the battles we face in our appointed times, the Lord knew we would continually need love from others. He knew we need to frequently be the givers of love too.

Every day, we must choose His commandment. We must choose a genuine posture of love—to one another, to those not at all like us, and even to those in complete opposition to us.

Points for Prayer:

LOVE – the LORD your GOD with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind.

LOVE – your neighbor as yourself.

LOVE – your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
