Urgent Prayer

A message from President Trump regarding the shootings in Las Vegas last night:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”
(Psalm 34:18-20; NLT)

My fellow Americans, we are joined together today in sadness, shock, and grief. Last night, a gunman opened fire on a large crowd at a country music concert in Las Vegas, Nevada. He brutally murdered more than 50 people, and wounded hundreds more. It was an act of pure evil.

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are working closely with local authorities to assist with the investigation, and they will provide updates as to the investigation and how it develops.

I want to thank the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and all of the first responders for their courageous efforts, and for helping to save the lives of so many. The speed with which they acted is miraculous, and prevented further loss of life. To have found the shooter so quickly after the first shots were fired is something for which we will always be thankful and grateful. It shows what true professionalism is all about.

Hundreds of our fellow citizens are now mourning the sudden loss of a loved one — a parent, a child, a brother or sister. We cannot fathom their pain. We cannot imagine their loss. To the families of the victims: We are praying for you and we are here for you, and we ask God to help see you through this very dark period.

Scripture teaches us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” We seek comfort in those words, for we know that God lives in the hearts of those who grieve. To the wounded who are now recovering in hospitals, we are praying for your full and speedy recovery, and pledge to you our support from this day forward.

In memory of the fallen, I have directed that our great flag be flown at half-staff.

I will be visiting Las Vegas on Wednesday to meet with law enforcement, first responders, and the families of the victims.

In moments of tragedy and horror, America comes together as one — and it always has. We call upon the bonds that unite us — our faith, our family, and our shared values. We call upon the bonds of citizenship, the ties of community, and the comfort of our common humanity.

Our unity cannot be shattered by evil. Our bonds cannot be broken by violence. And though we feel such great anger at the senseless murder of our fellow citizens, it is our love that defines us today — and always will, forever.

In times such as these, I know we are searching for some kind of meaning in the chaos, some kind of light in the darkness. The answers do not come easy. But we can take solace knowing that even the darkest space can be brightened by a single light, and even the most terrible despair can be illuminated by a single ray of hope.

Melania and I are praying for every American who has been hurt, wounded, or lost the ones they love so dearly in this terrible, terrible attack. We pray for the entire nation to find unity and peace. And we pray for the day when evil is banished, and the innocent are safe from hatred and from fear.

May God bless the souls of the lives that are lost. May God give us the grace of healing. And may God provide the grieving families with strength to carry on.

Thank you. God bless America. Thank you.

President Donald J. Trump”

Church in the U. S. Capitol

Members of the House and Senate are attending a weekly service that is happening in the Capitol again. This service took place for the first 100 years of this nation. Liberals like to look to a founder that said that religion can’t be any part of government, but even Thomas Jefferson went to church in the rotunda of the Capitol building! He was a part of the launching of that! He defended the practice! We decree that You will draw more and more leaders into that service.

“They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity – all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:46-47; NLT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Thank the Lord that many of our Christian leaders in Congress meet together weekly to worship, to pray, to study the Word, and to encourage one another and to take communion together.
  • Pray a John 17 unity for them! May they be one, even as Christ and the Father are One.
  • Intercede that they will be like yeast to other members of Congress, drawing in members of both political parties, making the lost hungry and thirsty for Who they know.
  • Pray for more services, more Bible studies and more prayer meetings in the halls of our nation’s U. S. Capitol building!

A prayer you can pray:

God, we thank you for drawing our Christian leaders together in weekly services. May their hearts grow together as they worship the King of Kings together! May they pray together for this nation, seeking Your face and Your Word for direction for the decisions they make. Grant them grace to walk together in a John 17 place of unity. May their unified example draw other Senators and Representatives to Jesus—men and women bold and unafraid. Multiply them, Lord! Multiply them until there are multiples of services, Bible studies, and prayer meeting in the halls of the U. S. Capitol. Amen.

Today’s decree:

I decree that the Believers in Congress will keep meeting together in unity in the Capitol building and the Gospel will multiply in the halls of Congress.

Holy Spirit Invasion of the Three Branches of Government

The leaven of the Kingdom of God will overcome every other force. Our founders, despite what the media, the liberals, and the modern education system try to tell you, understood that. One of the three most frequently quoted people by our founders, after God and the Bible, when historians studied over 15,000 documents, was the Baron de Montesquieu. Montesquieu wrote about God and government. He proposed our model of government, based on three branches. He formed that concept from Isaiah 33:22. He thought that if God governs that way, through a legislative, executive and judicial branch (lawgiver, judge and king), then any smart government on planet earth would be wise to pattern itself after heaven.

“For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.” (Isaiah 33:22; NIV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • Intercede for our governing leaders and ask God to cause His Kingdom leaven to permeate their whole being, but especially their thinking.
  • Pray that President Trump would receive thoughts from heaven that help him to “drain the swamp” completely, breaking the political spirit’s stranglehold on Washington, D.C.
  • Ask the Lord to transform lives and break political, racial, and religious division off of our nation. Believe it can be!

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we ask you to give our government leaders Your thoughts. Speak to them from Your Word. Speak into their minds and give them thoughts that come from heaven. Do this for the executive branch, in Congress, and for judges, as well. We are asking You to drain that place of evil. We’re asking You to get that political spirit off our nation! Get it off our nation! Get political division off our nation. Get religious division off our nation. May the leaven of the Kingdom permeate and transform lives. Thank You, Jesus, amen.

Today’s decree:

“The LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; we look to Him alone to save us!’

Unusual Leadership For Unusual Times

Isaiah prophesied the rise of a king to help Israel. This king was not a king of Israel. He was a Persian king that God used to free His people from their captivity in Babylon—Cyrus. He was a friend to God’s people and he encouraged them to serve their God and gave them the ability to rebuild their temple, so they could worship Him. God had to prophesy it hundreds of years in advance and more than once, because this would be a surprise to His people.

“The Lord has chosen Cyrus to be king. He has appointed him to conquer nations; he sends him to strip kings of their power; the Lord will open the gates of cities for him. To Cyrus the Lord says, ‘I appoint you to help my servant Israel, the people that I have chosen. I have given you great honor, although you do not know me.’” (Isaiah 45:1 and 4; GNT)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  • If we are religious, we can miss God-movements. God can use the unsaved, the unlearned, even donkeys to get His plan accomplished. Repent if you have tended to want to tell God how to do His job, instead of accept that His ways are not the same as yours.
  • Pray that you will be able to discern what God is doing and why.
  • Pray for God’s perfect Will to come to pass for America and that this election cycle, we will choose the platform that lines up closest with His Word, trusting Him that the individuals we are voting for will carry out His Will whether they know it is His or not.
  • Tell the Lord that you will choose Life in November and vote for the candidates who choose Life, as well. In God’s eyes, this is the most important thing.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, forgive me when I look at the choices before me through a demand in my mind that political leaders must be born again. Help me to trust You that You will raise up the leader for this nation that You have determined can get the nation back on track toward Your dream for America. Help me to choose the person that stands for Life and is a friend to Israel, things dearest to Your heart. Grant me grace and faith as I vote in November, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Today’s decree:

God, raise up a Cyrus for our nation in our generation! I trust You with Your choice!
