The Protection of America’s Waterways
Here was the view above me as I started my recent trip to pray over our waterways. I drove down the eastern boundary of Louisiana specifically from Lake Charles to the Gulf of Mexico to pray for our waterways.
I drove through Westlake, LA which is a major industrial city along Calcasieu River and Intercoastal Waterway System that empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Westlake has many chemical plants and oil refineries such the Chevron Refinery, Phillips 66 Refinery, Citgo Refinery, and PPG Industries to name a few.
I continued my trip down the Intercoastal path and my next stop was to pray over Cameron LNG which is one of the largest producers of liquified natural gas in the country.
The Calcasieu River runs 200 miles, and the lower portion of the river is paralleled by a navigable canal which connects to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. My final stop was the Gulf of Mexico to pray over Louisiana’s 30 ports along the coast as well as to pray for protection of the 3200 oil rigs and their employees that are in the Gulf of Mexico.
I used Dutch’s Decrees and Declarations for praying over our waterways, praying over all the oil and gas refineries, as well as the oil rigs out in the Gulf. My prayer started with the Louisiana Preamble which begins: “We, the people of Louisiana, grateful to Almighty God for the civil, political, economic, and religious liberties we enjoy, and desiring to protect individual rights of life, liberty, and property. . .”. and the prayer ended with Psalm 91. I will continue this prayer over the Louisiana waterways as my son is one of those employees out on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
Thank you so much for this great recap of your prayer journey. The refineries have been on my heart and this was one area of importance. We are praying over these areas as time permits, but had not made it to the Lake Charles/Westlake area. It is wonderful that you have covered it and we can join with you to continue to pray over all of Louisiana’s industry and waterways. God bless you.
Thank you, LouisianaRN for making this trip and praying over this area of LA waterways and coastline. I am agreeing with you in the decrees, declarations, the preamble of our constitution and Psalm 91 as you have prayed and continue to pray. Thank you for this post. Father, protect and bless these United States of America as we intercede and cry out a repentance for our land.
