Hello fellow prayer warriors,
I'm planning to head out on Thursday, February 1rst to complete a cirlce of the east end of Hampden County. It will include a little bit of Sturbridge in Worcester County and Union in Tolland County, CT as I've been praying for the watersheds in our area and this loop is in the midst of the Quinebaug Watershed.
Adding a PDF that has my proposed route with a list of the various ponds, lakes, reservoirs, dams, and dikes - with links to 'Anyplace America' for many of the dams. Also posting a map image that shows in yellow the towns I've been working to circle and (in orange) areas my routes have taken me. Dots are approximate locations of dams. No train lines are in this drive, but there are a number of overpasses and causeways.
God's blessings to all,
~Amy
Update: Yesterday's drive went very well. Only needed my 4-wheel drive a couple times due to mushy slick back roads, which I fully expected to encounter. I had to re-route at one point (I had planned to drive what is basically a 'forest road' had it been clear - it wasn't).
When I returned to what was to be my return point I decided to 'double back' and return to Union, Connecticut along the Hamilton Reservoir, so from Union, I ended up driving all the way back into Stafford, Connecticut (Rt 171 and Rt 190) which would bring me back to the road that comes up into Massachusetts where I live. I kept my mp3 going and continued to pray as I drove, so I need to check my Connecticut street atlas to update my list as I saw a number of waterways I had not expected to pass.
I felt the Lord prompted me to take communion before I headed out this time. So I did so.
I remembered to bring a lunch this time (remembered my tea last two times, forgot I would likely get hungry through!), but I had forgotten that I needed cash to enter the Bigelow State Forest, so I turned around at the entance and headed back to a gate that enters the state forest and stopped there. I also realized that on my route (the PDF) what I had noted as Rt 181 should have been noted as Rt 131. I'll be using Rt 181 on one of my future drives.
The reservoirs were so beautiful yesterday - it is such a blessing to go before the Lord.
Thanks to all who have been supporting the prayer-drives with your prayers.
God's peace, joy and blessings, ~Amy
Thank you Amy. As I live in Hampden County, I am in agreement with the route you are driving. Praise God. I ask the Lord to give you His wisdom and discernment for this trip. Blessings ❤️
