We prayed at the confluence points of several rivers that flow into the Mississippi (Clearwater River, Minnesota River, St. Croix River, Rum River, and Elk River) as well as the two nuclear power plants in Minnesota (Monticello and Prairie Island). We used Dutch’s prayer points as well as the prayer for the Mississippi River provided.
As we reviewed our MN map to figure out the places where the rivers joined the Mississippi, as well as the most efficient route, the town names of Clear Lake and Clearwater near Monticello caught our attention. They were near the Monticello nuclear plant, and since we would be praying for water, we decided to start there.
We left our home in Isanti and minutes later, we saw 2 large eagles sitting in a tree. We turned around to get a better look. The word “sentries” came to mind. (Sentry: A soldier stationed to keep guard or to control access to a place.) There was a marsh in front of the tree and a sign, “POSTED – No Trespassing.” We decreed there would be no trespassing of the enemy in Minnesota.
(Before we even got to our starting point in Clear Lake, we had seen 28 eagles. During our journey we saw eagle shapes: A tree stump carved into an eagle, a huge eagle decal on a semi-truck, and signage with an eagle. After we finished praying at the Prairie Island nuclear plant, we again saw 2 large eagles sitting in a tree. It almost felt like “book ends” of a great adventure.)
Below are some add’l notes we captured:
We started in Clear Lake and Clearwater and in between those towns was Clearview Elementary School. We prayed for spiritual clarity, a clear view of the spiritual realm, and clear vision for His Ekklesia. We asked the Lord to show His right arm of strength – not only to protect our waters from the enemy but to go even further and remove invasive species.
A road by the Prairie Island nuclear generating plant was called “Lock and Dam Road.” We prayed for protection over the U.S.’ locks and dams.
The Rum River empties into the Mississippi in Anoka, and we prayed that the “Halloween Capital of the World” would be renamed “Hallowed and Holy.”
As we prayed at the confluence points of the various rivers flowing into the Mississippi River, it reminded us of church. Christian denominations can be like individual rivers (Clearwater, Minnesota, St. Croix, Rum, Elk) but when we work towards unity and in one accord, we come together and operate as The Church (Mighty Mississippi).
Deep and wide, deep and wide, there’s a fountain flowing deep and wide.
Deep and wide, deep and wide, there’s a fountain flowing deep and wide.
I too am seeing eagles a lot. I will continue to see them and declare them as sentries.
