Blanchard dam is where many come to search for cross rocks on the shoreline. They are twinned staurolite crystals simulating the Roman, Maltese and St Andrew's crosses, about an inch in length and dark brown. There are many legends about how they came to be found here and who really knows? You are very fortunate to find one and have a wonderful, mysterious history. I have seen a few of them but no one willing to sell. It also has a great trail which crosses over the river to walk, bike or ride over with beautiful scenery all year.
