Update on Crucial Issues
In an era where our government is attempting to exert more and more control over us, shape our thinking, control our speech and actions, and redefine who America was, is and will be, Americans must be more vigilant than ever before. In the words of Ronald Reagan, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”(1) He also famously said, “Government is not the solution to the problem, government IS the problem.”(2)
When government begins telling us: what we can believe and preach from the Bible; who we must hire, even though they violate our moral beliefs and principles; what is and isn’t marriage (as though marriage is a government-initiated institution, rather than God-ordained); that we must use our tax dollars to kill babies and experiment with their body parts; when we can worship; and so much more - they have trespassed into spiritual matters. That is why we address it here, and ask you to pray about it.
A Win
First, however, a praise report: The Biden administration, following in the footsteps of the Obama administration by attempting to weaponize the IRS, has reversed its decision to deny tax-exempt status to Texas based Christians Engaged. You will recall that their initial rejection was because Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the Republican Party and candidates. Therefore, they reasoned, anyone who teaches those principles was not eligible for tax-exempt status. No doubt due to the outrage from members of Congress and Christians around the nation, they backed off of this ruling and awarded the status. We thank God for this turnaround, but we must remain alert and continue to pray that all such attempts to silence Christians are exposed in America.(3)
Big Tech vs Free Speech
As you may know, President Trump is suing Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We must pray that our Judicial system does the right thing in regards to this lawsuit. Everyone, Conservatives included, deserves to have their voices heard equally. Though these are, indeed, private companies, they have been given special exemptions by our government. And many experts believe they have now formed suffocating monopolies, effectively controlling what the American public hears. Attorney Alan Dershowitz said regarding the case, “This is a very, very important lawsuit. What’s going on with high tech is unacceptable. It’s inconsistent with the spirit of free-speech that underlies our First Amendment.” He went on to say, “The old censorship involved pure government. McCarthyism. Congress. Today we have these companies that are the new censors.”(4)
Media has done everything possible in the last few years to muzzle the church and those of us who hold conservative values. Our country was founded on free speech and we must pray this continues. We are obviously not legal experts, but it is critical and certainly appropriate that we pray for a just and righteous conclusion to this matter. As we mentioned in the opening of our post, government is already beginning the process of attempting to tell the church what we can and cannot say. We had better stay awake!
Door to Door Campaign
Most of you have probably heard about the Biden administration’s plan to go door to door pushing the Covid vaccinations. This has caused quite a furor among millions of Americans. Those who choose not to receive the vaccine (and many who did) do not want the government meddling in their medical lives. Nor do they want a database with their name in it as one who chose not to receive the vaccine. This could lead to all sorts of discrimination and mistreatment.
Michael Dorstewitz, in a Newsmax article, stated, “...health information - including vaccination records - is a private matter between Americans and their physicians. The government isn’t privy to any of it - it’s none of their business.” This is simply another example of government overreach. Whether or not one chooses to receive this vaccine is a very personal matter; HIPPA laws protect all medical decisions. People have the right to decide what is best for them without government intrusion. We must pray that our rights to privacy are not infringed upon.(5)
The NSA
In a very enlightening Washington Times article, Judge Andrew Napolitano discusses the frightening ramifications of the NSA’s spying on Tucker Carlson. In 2017, Judge Napolitano exposed the CIA’s spying on President Trump - through the British government - and was falsely accused of lying and fabricating the information. Then the NSA began spying on him, just as they have been doing on Tucker Carlson. The Judge said, “It is utterly terrifying to realize that your daily communications are being scrutinized by the government without probable cause and without a search warrant, both of which are required by the Fourth Amendment. It gives you pause before communicating; pause that churns the stomach; pause that is profoundly un-American.”(6)
Exposed
The whole world now knows FISA warrants were fraudulently obtained to spy on Trump’s campaign, General Flynn, and others in the former president’s circle.(7) Yet the deep state is so feared and seems so untouchable that no one has been prosecuted for this. It is impossible to know how many Americans have been/are spied upon inappropriately by our government, but we all know they are watching us. We must pray that this ends - that someone, or a strong enough group within our government - is raised up to finally put an end to this. At this point in time, it goes on with no ramifications. You and I cannot stop it with natural means, but we can pray and ask God to do so.
According to a Rasmussen Poll
Lastly, according to a recent Rasmussen poll, “Arizona’s ongoing audit of 2020 election results has been widely criticized, but a majority of voters nationwide approve of the election integrity effort. A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 55% of Likely U.S. Voters support forensic audits of election results to ensure there was no vote fraud. Twenty-nine percent (29%) oppose such audits and 17% are not sure.”(8)
A staggering majority of Republicans, 70%, don’t believe Biden won the 2020 presidential election fairly. Ten percent of Democrats and 45% of unaffiliated voters believe this, also. This is unprecedented. Let’s continue to pray that the forensic audits, as well as any other means possible, give Americans confidence in our election system. Without it, America cannot survive.
Our Founders and the shapers of our Constitution knew the incredible importance of spiritual liberty and freedom of speech. That is why they placed these protections in the FIRST Amendment. It is appropriate - and our spiritual responsibility - to pray regarding these issues, just as it is to pray regarding all governmental activities. Let’s do so now.
Pray with me:
Father, thank You for answering our prayers for Christians Engaged.
We pray regarding the lawsuit against big tech. We simply ask You to cause the appropriate ruling to occur. Let justice prevail in this case. And we ask You to keep the voice of the church free in America. We pledge to You, Father, that we will not compromise Your word and principles in our congregations and messages. We will obey You, not man.
We ask You to give us wise leaders in government who truly honor our Constitution, as it is written, not as they wish it was written. We ask You to give us leaders who believe in You, Your word, and Your plan for America, men and women who openly and unashamedly honor You and love you passionately. Deliver us from those who mock, dishonor and oppose You. And we continue to ask You to expose the evil in our government. It has become very defiled - please clean it up, just as you did evil governments in scripture.
Give all those working to ensure we have honest elections in America the wisdom, support, finances and volunteers needed. Please cause this to be done with integrity and for truth to prevail. In Christ’s name we pray.
Our decree:
We declare, with confidence: our prayers are making a difference and that the appeal still works!
