Covering Our Children We should be able to expect that our children will be safe in their schools. Tucked away in our neighborhoods, schools educate our young and act as central meeting places for many community events. On April 20, 1999, that sense of safety was shaken in America when two students opened fire on their high school, Columbine, in Littleton, CO. Many of us remember that day well. Too many school shootings have followed. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?” (Psalm 27:1; NASB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Today, let’s prayer walk our neighborhood schools. If you have a child in school, go to the school and ask if you can walk the halls and quietly pray. If this is not allowed by your local school (for safety reasons, some schools do not permit this), walk the perimeter or sit in your car in the parking lot and read scriptures such as Psalm 91 over the children and the property. Include your children, if possible. If you do not have a child in the schools, you can still go and sit in the parking lot and pray. Pray at more than one school, if you have the time. Send a note to a teacher or administrator tomorrow letting them know you have prayed for the students, the teachers, the administrators, other staff and for safety over the school property. A prayer you can pray: Father, the children in my neighborhood are such a treasure! All children should be able to go to a safe and friendly school. The enemy opened a door at Columbine High School on this day in 1999. Father, we shut this door of fear and death over our schools in Jesus’ Name! We proclaim safety, security and the protection of the Lord over (name the school.) (Pray for the students you know by name, the teachers, the administrators and other staff.) I bless this school and proclaim it safe from all of the plans of the evil one. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: I proclaim safety over the schools of America today!

Transforming Our Neighborhoods (Continued from 4/18/16.) This mom got miracle after miracle in her neighborhood. She was able to secure a neglected community center which became a place to feed hot meals to the hungry, provide job placement services, and become an after-school tutoring and recreation center. The lost were getting saved and the study of the Word of God and prayer was central to everything going on. Word spread and a major university started an eye clinic and a dental clinic nearby where residents could work and gain job training in various positions in the clinics. Habitat for Humanity showed up and began to help some families rebuild their homes. There was so much more! Over the next 10 years many lives and this whole area was turned around as God answered the prayers of this one woman. She is still very involved today. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37; KJV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Let God cause faith to rise in you that He is able to do amazing things if you will only ask. He wants to work miracles in our neighborhoods, cities and nation. If you can’t think of anything to ask for in your neighborhood, then ask God for something big for your city or our nation. Ask the Lord if there is something you can do to partner with Him to see the fulfillment of your prayers. Don’t be afraid to do whatever He tells you to do. A prayer you can pray: God, You are a miracle-working God! You want to transform lives and neighborhoods and cities and nations. You only need those who know You and will believe You and who will ask for miracle answers to big problems. I want to be one of those Believers. I want to know what I can do, too. Help me to hear Your Holy Spirit’s leading and do whatever He says. Together, faith-filled Christians can expand God’s Kingdom in our nation! Amen. Today’s decree: Nothing is impossible to God and nothing is impossible for me when I partner together with Him!

Strengthening Our Neighborhoods About ten years ago a young professional was visiting his mom at his family home in a major U. S. city. This only child was killed in their living room in front of his mom in a random drive-by shooting. Out of her grief, this mom began to prayer walk her neighborhood. She cried out to God to change things—to save the lost, break the crushing poverty, provide direction to the youth and deliver them from a spirit of violence. These were big requests, but she knew she had a big God! (Continued 4/19/16) “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22; NKJV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: If possible, prayer walk your neighborhood today. Or, pray as you drive through it. What is the atmosphere in your neighborhood? Do you know any of the needs of the families? Look at the good and the bad and lift up the needs that you know of and observe. Now, ask the Lord to give you a really big audacious faith-filled prayer to pray for your neighborhood! Write it down and get ready for surprising answers. A prayer you can pray: Dear Lord, I bring my neighborhood before You today. Help me to see it as You see it. Help me to see both the good things and the challenges that may exist. Grant me a grace to ask You for miracles here—miracle salvations, miracle healings, miracle shifts in the atmosphere (add your own requests and be specific.) I am asking You to establish Your Kingdom in my neighborhood, Father. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Today’s decree: Kingdom of God, come in my neighborhood!

Japan A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Japan’s southern Kyushu Island in the Kumamoto Prefecture on Thursday.  It was a foreshock. Yesterday, another earthquake hit the same area, this time measuring a magnitude 7.0. Over 40 people are confirmed dead and more than 1500 are injured. It is still unknown how many are missing. Many homes and buildings collapsed, a university dorm among them, where two students lost their lives. Rain, mudslides and a volcanic eruption have followed and added to the devastation. Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, needs our prayers. “Then I will bring them to my holy mountain and make them happy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on my altar, because my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56:7; GWT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Pray for the people of Japan, that they will have all of the resources they need to care for the many people affected by these events. Pray for the families who lost loved ones and for those who have nowhere to go. Pray especially for the elderly, the sick and the infirm. Ask the Lord to reveal to the rescue workers where there are people trapped, so their lives can be saved. Japan is a nation where it is believed that less than 1% of the population identifies themselves Christian. This is a nation which desperately needs to know the One true God that loves them and gave His Son, Jesus, for them. Pray that God would miraculously reveal Himself to many at this time of great loss. Pray that the Lord would send workers to the harvest fields of Japan. A prayer you can pray: Father, You deeply care about the people of Japan. This is a nation where You are largely unknown. People won’t think to cry out for You in their time of need. We call for You to meet their needs, comfort them and reveal Your love to them, even though they may not be looking for You. Lead the rescue workers to those who are buried or trapped under collapsed buildings and mudslides. Father, You are able to give the people of Kumamoto Prefecture dreams and visions that lead them to You. Save them, Jesus! Amen. Today’s decree: Jesus loves the people of Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, and He is able to save them, body, soul and spirit.

Strong Families ”In raising and instructing our children, in providing personal and compassionate care for the elderly, in maintaining the spiritual strength of religious commitment among our people—in these and other ways, America’s families make immeasurable contributions to America’s well-being. Today, more than ever, it is essential that these contributions not be taken for granted and that each of us remember that the strength of our families is vital to the strength of our nation.” Ronald Reagan “Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.” (Genesis 18:18-19; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: God has a plan for families. Thank the Lord for a minute for all of your family members and say a heartfelt prayer for each family member that comes to mind. If you have a family that has been more of a challenge than a blessing in your life, ask God to move to reveal Himself to those in your family that need to know His love for them. God designed families to be the fabric and strength undergirding a nation. He wants each current mature generation to pave the way for the coming generations. Pray that decisions adults make now both morally and governmentally will lay a God-fearing foundation for future generations and families in the United States of America. A prayer you can pray: Father, I thank you that You say in Your Word that you designed families to teach and train the next generation in Your ways. A nation can only be strong when our families are strong. Moral decay and divorce are tearing our families apart. I pray for each of my family members that they would know You and know the love You have for each of them. (Pray a personal prayer for each of them by name.) I pray they will make God-fearing decisions for their lives and in the voting booth that strengthen this nation. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: God, strengthen America’s families, so that our nation will have a strong foundation for the future!

Strong Marriages The very first thing God did after He created the heavens and the earth and all that would fill them was to create a wife for the man He had made. He made Eve for Adam, a perfect complement to him. He made a companion, a lover and a future mother. He called this arrangement good. God later called this relationship a marriage and said that it models the relationship between Christ and the Church. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. 32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.” (Ephesians 5:31-32; NASB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Thank God that He instituted a deep love relationship between a man and woman called marriage that would show us the depth of relationship He wants to have with His Church. Pray for your own marriage, if you are married, and for every marriage you know. Pray for every marriage on your street. Ask the Lord to strengthen the love between the couple, to renew the love in the relationship, if need be, and to make the marriage strong against outside influences. Ask the Lord to make the Christian marriages you know truly be an example of Christ’s loving relationship with His bride, the Church. A prayer you can pray: Father, I thank you for creating an intimate relationship between a man and a woman called marriage. I pray for the marriage of (pray for the marriages you know one at a time, including your own, if you are married.) I pray this marriage would be loving and respectful. I pray that the couple would work together to have the kind of relationship that no outside influence can penetrate. I pray against divorce and ask you to help these couples forgive one another on a daily basis, letting their love and commitment to one another heal any pain. I pray that the Christian marriages I know would be examples of Christ’s love for the Church. Amen. Today’s decree: God desires marriages between a man and a woman to be strong and filled with love and respect and to serve as the example of the relationship between Jesus and the Church.

The Declared Word Will Accomplish His Will We will pluck up. We will tear down. We will uproot and dismantle the structures that have ruled our nation. We will pray the Word of God out loud and watch a shift begin. Then, God is going to give instructions to declare passages from His Word that will build up the ancient paths He established. He will show us what to declare that will firmly plant the seeds of His purpose for our nation. “See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:10; NASB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Ask the Lord to forgive you if you have prayed “safe” prayers. You know, those prayers that ask Him if it is His will for someone to be healed or saved or for circumstances to change. We usually pray that way out of fear or doubt and unbelief. Sometimes we have been disappointed by God. Recommit to the Lord that if He said something in His Word, He means for that to be His will. Ask Him to make you bold in your proclamation of His Word. Pray with confidence that ungodly laws in your state and in this nation will be reversed and that laws will be instituted that please Him. A prayer you can pray: Father, forgive me when I have prayed for Your will to be done when I know what Your Word says is Your Will. I acknowledge that sometimes I am afraid I will not be praying Your will. Sometimes I am afraid You won’t answer right away and I will be embarrassed. I am so sorry, Father. When you say something in Your Word, I can count on it being Your Will. The timing is not mine and the way You choose to answer is not mine, but the faith-filled declaration is all you ask me for. I desire to be obedient to You and just boldly declare Your Word! In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Today’s decree: I will boldly declare God’s Word and tear down worldly structures and laws, while proclaiming the building up of our nation according to His Word!

The Sword of the Lord The Word of the Lord is about to become a very fine, accurate sword. Like never before, the Word of the Lord is going to begin to arrange things in the earth. This is because the Church is gaining a revelation of how to speak the Word over our cities, regions and nations. As we do so, we will begin to see activities of heaven instantly begin to undo humanistic and demonic activities in the earth. God will begin to arrange or rearrange just through the power of the spoken Word of God! “Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:20-21; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Tell the Lord that you acknowledge that the written Word of God was spoken by Him to men who represented Him well and faithfully wrote down what He wanted recorded. Ask Him to show you how to accurately use the sword of His Word to establish His Will in your city, state and nation. Ask Him for specific scriptures to use as a sword to shift specific circumstances, then write them down, so you can watch for answers! A prayer you can pray: Father, thank you for revealing to me the way to engage the spiritual forces of darkness with Your sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, the holy scriptures. I want to learn to be very accurate in proclaiming the exact right scripture at the exact right time, so that I see instant results in my community, state and nation. Open blind eyes and establish your Kingdom all around us, Lord. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen. Today’s decree: The Church is learning to wield the mighty sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and things are going to change quickly now!

Kingdom of God, Come! When you say, “Kingdom of God, come. Will of God, be,” it will manifest in your home and in your business and in your community, in your state and in this nation. You are an ambassador of the King and you will release His Kingdom authority. In the Greek, these words are in a current command tone. His will will be done! Don’t be afraid. Get out your Bible and start proclaiming! “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10; NKJV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Read these verses out loud as a current command. Emphasize “come” and “be done”. Feel the difference? This was not Jesus petitioning the Father to do these things. He was teaching us to command the will of God to be done in the earth. To know the will of God and the ways of His Kingdom, look first to His Word: choose life and command abortion to end in this nation; command righteousness to flow like a river through our nation; command justice for the oppressed; command His glory to be seen across America! Command other things that He places on your heart that line up with His will and His Word. A prayer you can pray: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for teaching us how to pray! You did not leave us blind as to what You want us to pray for or how You want us to petition the Father. We ask for forgiveness of our sins and for our daily bread, but we command the Kingdom of God to manifest in the earth! We are enforcing the victory of the cross and resurrection when we pray with this level of confidence and trust in You! Thank you, Lord. Amen. Today’s decree: Kingdom of God, come! Will of God, be done in the earth, even as it is in heaven!

You have Permission “If you love Jesus, you have permission to pray for the sick.” (Bill Johnson, April 9, 2016, The Call|Azusa Now) You have all of the permission you need from God to work the works that Jesus did. You received that permission the day you said yes to Him for the very first time. When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you entered His Kingdom and you received everything He has to offer. Let’s get to it! “We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.” (John 9:4; NLT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Thank the Lord that you have permission to work the works that Jesus did. Read John chapter 9 and Acts chapters 3 and 4. Miracles open doors to share the gospel. Ask the Lord to give you clear moments and great boldness to pray for the sick—outside the walls of the church, as you go about your regular day. Be ready to tell people about this Jesus that healed them. Watch His name spread from one person to another across this land! A prayer you can pray: Father, thank you for the reminder that I don’t need any more permission to pray for the sick than what You have already given me in Your Word. Healing the sick makes hearts open to hear more about Jesus. Give me a divine setup today to pray for someone who is sick. The results are Yours, but I am believing You want to heal the sick and that You want to use me as a conduit of Your love to others so that they will worship You, too! Let Jesus’ name be raised up everywhere across this nation! Amen. Today’s decree: Jesus loves me and has already given me permission to heal the sick!

Lifting Up Jesus! More than 110,000 Christians of every possible background from across this nation and the nations of the earth gathered to worship Jesus together in the Los Angeles Coliseum yesterday. Many thousands more watched on God.tv or by live webcast. What a day! Lifting up Jesus, asking for rain, asking for fire, asking for revival fires kindled anew. Shaking our shoes to the heavens, we pledged to go live radical lives for Jesus! Do it! Live like a radical believer lifting up Jesus daily! Our nation depends on it! “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, ‘Rulers of the people and elders, if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well.’” (Acts 4:8-10; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Jesus tells us to go and do the things He did. Repent of fear. Commit to live a radical Christian life—the real Christian life! Get out a piece of paper and a pen and start writing down all the radical ways you showed people how real Jesus is this last month. No condemnation if that paper is blank, just get out there and do it now! Introduce Jesus to the lost, heal the sick, cast out devils, preach the gospel of the kingdom. Walk your neighborhood and stop and pray in front of each house. Take the kids with you—they often love to pray! Let your neighbors catch you! Maybe they’ll come out and ask what you are doing. Be brave! This is your opportunity! God will back you up and give you the words to say to exalt His son, Jesus. A prayer you can pray: Jesus! I want to lift Your Name up every day that I live and everywhere that I go! Forgive me when I have hidden You away, feeling like my relationship with You is a private matter. That’s not what You say in Your Word. Make me bold! Make me brave! Show me how easy it is to talk to others about You and introduce them to You. This is the normal thing for a Christian—to lift up the name of Jesus! I will lift You up, Jesus! The nation will change as You are made known everywhere! Amen. Today’s decree: The name of Jesus will be lifted up all across America and this nation will change into a bold, Jesus-loving nation!

“Azusa Now|The Call” and “United Cry” Today, in the Los Angeles Coliseum, there will be a gathering of over 80,000 mostly young people crying out to God for a Great Awakening to begin. On the opposite coast, over 30,000 pastors will gather at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D. C., to repent for the sins of the nation. You can join in prayer right where you are. “This day is about turning America back to God. There’s another Jesus movement coming, another massive baptism in the Holy Spirit. We have been praying that stadiums would be filled. In a dream a friend had, he said, “We can only fly United.” The Church must unite. Only a united Church can heal a divided nation. God is going on a date with His Church today. (These are) not events, but a massive breakthrough for America—the birth of a new Holy Spirit movement.” Lou Engle1 “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:35; NLT) “Just as You sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.” (John 17:18; NLT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Repent for the sins of this nation. Thank the Lord for this amazing date where He is meeting His Church from coast to coast across racial and generational lines. Passionately ask Him for a new Holy Spirit-led move of God, a new Jesus Movement, a third Great Awakening. Intercede between the apathy that the Church has been in and the fire God wants to bestow us with. Ask that it happen today! A prayer you can pray: God, we ask You to send Your Holy Spirit again, even as You did in the book of Acts, Chapter 2. We need a move of God that transcends the apathy and intellectualism of the American church today. We desperately need a fresh outpouring of Holy Spirit. The Church and the nation need You to show up and sweep thousands supernaturally into the Kingdom. Father, send your Spirit to fall on these gatherings and on all of those joining in prayer across the nation and on the lost all around each participant. Please do this, Lord! We want You in America! In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Today’s decree: We decree that today will be a turning point in the history of the Church in America—a Holy Spirit-birthed movement is beginning today! 1 Read more about Lou Engle and Azusa Now|The Call here.
