Hello all,
I'm from Monson, a descendanent of multiple founding families of the Monson, Palmer, Brimfield, Wales, Holland, and Wilbraham-Hampden area. As well as a descendent of William Bradford. I live a few miles away from Conant Brook Dam. Historically a number of my ancestor grandfather's had farms and mills along the waterways in this area. A few of the farms abutted what is now the Brimfield State Forest area that connects with the Conant Brook Dam-Army Corp of Engineers area. The Quaboag River and the Ware River.
The waterways of my area have blessed my family for generations. To learn that the enemy is targeting what has been a blessing for so many - well, not happening! Our God reigns! I'll be using the prayer that was suggested/posted, the state motto, and parts of various other Massachusetts historical documents. As well as thanking our Lord for protecting and blessing all those that have come before me, all those that count on those waterways now, and all those that will live and benefit from those waterways in the future.
Will be starting with Conant Brook Dam (Vinica Brook flows into the dam and Conant Brook flows out.) in a day or so and will update as I go. If I cannot reach an area I'll be using my Atlas to annoint the area with a drop of oil and pray over it.
God's blessings,
Amy
My pleasure! God bless you abundantly as you move forward in obedience!
Thank you Amy. Your research is most welcome and appreciated. I am praying about Friday.
Planned for January 26th
I'm planning another Hampden County Drive, weather permitting, on Friday - I don't mind driving or being out in the rain. As I still need to "prayer-drive" the South-east side of Monson this is my next planned "prayer-drive."
So, from the Monson town reservoir (Chicopee Brook). My plan is to head into Hampden, following the course of the Temple Brook, pass over a brook on the Hampden-Monson town line that was once the border of my Great-grandparents farm. I'll turn left there and head to the Scantic River - when I was a child we lived on the banks of the Scantic twice. My dad, his dad and I fished along the Scantic in Hampden often. My dad's first business was on the banks of the Scantic, and he used the name of the river as part of his business name up until his passing in early 2020.
I'll stop at a bridge in Hampden near the Eastlongmeadow border - then I'll head back along the border of Eastlongmeadow to prayer-drive a circle around Hampden and Wilbraham - I'll pass over the Chicopee River at Wallamanumps Falls, turn right on East St. in Ludlow and head to the Red Bridge Hydro plant and the Chicopee River Reservoir. That route will bring me to the confluence of the Chicopee River, Quaboag River and the Ware River - there is a parking area near the bridge.
My route home will take me down rt 32 in Monson - the loop covers and south-east and north-east of Monson, all of Hampden and Wilbraham, parts of Ludlow and Palmer. Will stop in quiet spots along the route as possible.
God's joy and blessings! ~Amy
The Scantic River is a tributary of the Connecticut River and flows into Connecticut.
Praise God for His grace doing a mighty work through you.
Jan. 22, 2024
To those interested: I'm heading out around 12:30 to Pray over and for The Conant Brook Dam area. I'll be following a path from Vinica Brook, to/past the Conant BrookDam, following the course of the Conant Brook down to the town the Town Resevoir. From there I'll be heading out along the couse of the Chicopee Brook, past our town 'well' and continuing along the course of the brook to the Qaubog River. from there I will turn left on Rt 20 and head toward Brimfield. I'll take Route 67, past the crossing that my ancestor grandfather 'controlled' by owning land on the Palmer and the Brimfield side of the Quaboag, and head out Rt 67 past the Palmer,West Warren area where Hampden county and Worcester County meet.
I'll follow the Quaboag into West Warren and take Rt 19 back into Brimfield so that I can cover the waterways in part of Brimfield. The "Wales Brook" used to be named "Erwin's Brook" after yet another founding settler, that brook is part of the waterways from the East Brimfield Dam/Reservoir which is part of the Quinebaug Watershed. (I'll be doing more in the area in coming days.)
God's blessings, ~Amy
